The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes
It’s the fifth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built Anything Goes challenge. This doesn’t come around too often, but it’s your time to do anything you wish. You have until Tuesday, May 5th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
For my card today I wanted to celebrate spring. Here in New York, it’s been a long time coming! I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions “My Sunshine 8402-M with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink so I could color it with Copics. This stamp comes with the sentiment, which you can choose to use, or not. If you don’t want to use the sentiment, simply cover it with scotch tape, then apply your ink and remove the tape.
To create the background I used B91, V20 and Zero markers. The die is Lawn Fawn’s Journaling tag as well as Lawn Fawn’s 6 x 6 paper pack, “Bright Side” collection. The circle, flag, and rectangle dies are all from My Favorite Things. I finished it off with a few gems applied in a series of three.
Come join us at The House That Stamps Built, you may be our next winner! If you use a Repeat Impressions Stamp in your design, you’ll get an extra entry!

Technique Junkies – Meow…
Happy Tuesday Friends. Today I’m bringing another fun April release stamp from Technique Junkies called, Kitty Profile #S625. I heat embossed the background with white powder then sprayed it with Dylusions ink in, melted chocolate, squeezed orange, and polished jade.
The sentiment is “Forever and a day SD599,” which I used only a portion of. To do this I took some tape and covered the portion of the stamp I didn’t want, then inked it and removed the tape before stamping. This ensures you don’t get any ink on the portion of the stamp you don’t want. I’ve also been known to commit stamp surgery but cutting apart stamps makes most people nervous. LOL.
The card stock is some beautiful Club Scrap paper. I cut out the image with the Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.
Come on over to the Junkies Design Team Blog and sign up for some great inspiration.
Cards in Envy Challenge – Pretty in Pink!
Who doesn’t love pink? I know I sure do. For this Cards in Envy Challenge I brought out my sprays and stencils, which to me, gives lots of texture without adding bulk. Remember, at Cards in Envy we ask that you make your card fit into a standard A2 card, which is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.
I created the card base using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Spray over a floral stencil. It’s hard to tell, but it’s really shimmery. I then stamped the Wendy Vecchi “Perfect Peony” with black archival ink and applied the sentiment from Avery Elle called “Laurels”. I finished the card with some gold thread.
I hope you will join us at Cards in Envy this week and show us some Pretty in Pink cards!
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #100 – Birthday Fun!
Happy Saturday Friends! It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is Birthday Fun. At SAS4Kids, we are so fortunate to have spectacular sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different. I’d also like to mention if you are interested in bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized, we’d love for you to send in some of your cards for the kids; here’s how.
Now let’s get on to those great sponsors:
1) Lacy Sunshine: Prize is 3 images of winners choice
2) Bugaboo: Prize is 7 images of winners choice
3) Fred She Said: Prize is $10.00 Gift Certificate
My first card today features the Lacy Sunshine image, “Eleanor Chillin.'” I colored her with Copic Markers and used the Dear Lizzy “Neapolitan” collection. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, “Sugar Rush.”
My second inspiration card uses a digital image from Bugaboo called, “Peaches Balloon.” The bright Doodlebug “Take Note” paper pack really works perfectly for this birthday image. I colored Peaches with Copic Markers and used the My Favorite Things circle and stitched rectangle dies to accent her.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I can’t wait to see your Birthday Fun cards!

Technique Junkies Inspiration!
Hello Friends! Today I’m showing off another April release stamp from Technique Junkies. In addition I’d encourage you to come on over to the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog and subscribe so you too can enjoy all the designers inspiration.
Today I’ve made a card using the Technique Junkies April/May 2011 Newsletter called, Blended Blotches. I began by stamping the April Release flower called, “Flourished Floral – #S627” in Archival Black Ink. I then scribbled a few similar colors of Inktense pencils on the background and applied water to move ink. To color the flower, I reversed the process and pulled ink directly from the Inktense Pencils. That way you get really vibrant colors. I finished off my card by adding the Technique Junkies sentiment from, “Things I want to do – #S546″ and splattered some black ink across the card.
I hope you’ve had a chance to check out the new Technique Junkies website. It’s really easy to find what you need now by using the search bar at the top.
Happy Thursday!
