A Day For Daisies
Hello! Today I’ve got a quick card for A Day For Daisies current challenge. The requirement is to either paper piece of paper pierce. I chose to pierce. I used an old template from my stash to create the piercings and colored the image with Copic Markers. I inadvertently got smeared printer ink on the background so it became a night scene. The remainder of the card is from the June Simon Says Stamp card kit.

Ellen Hutson’s June Pin Sight Challenge
Happy Saturday! Today I’ve made a card for Ellen Hutson’s Pin Sight Challenge. This is a super fun challenge that offers a great prize!
Here’s the inspiration:
I began by stamping Wish Big by Julie Ebersole in Hero Arts Shadow Ink then colored them with Copic Markers. I added some highlights in the balloons with my favorite white Signo Uniball then splattered with gold and black. I added the card panel crooked to give a little birthday whimsy.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #367
Happy Saturday! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Dee Dee Digi’s. That means a $15.00 gift certificate to our random winner. WooHoo. You have until Friday, July 3rd for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose a pre-colored image by Dee Dee Digi’s called, “Cow Are You?” I love to color, but sometimes it’s nice to have an image already colored for a quick card. The paper used is Glitz “Black & White” collection as the print put me in the mind of cow markings. I cut out the pattern paper using a WPlus9 die and the image using a My Favorite Things stitched stackable circle. I finished off with a few strips of green card stock and called her done.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
Technique Junkies – Coming up Roses
Hello Junkies, Today I had a chance to play a little with my Technique Junkies stamps using some of the techniques from past newsletters. My first card uses the “Watercolor Roll” technique from the June 2006 newsletter. The medium used in the background is the Caran D’ ache Neocolor II crayons. I colored the beautiful Technique Junkies “Rose #SD108” with Copic Markers in YR 61, YR65, R22, and R24. I die cut a square with My Favorite Things stitched die and embossed the square using a Darice Triangle folder. The sentiment is “Forever and a Day #SD599” stamped in Versafine Black Onyx Ink and heat embossed with clear. My second card uses the “Scor-it Faux Grid” technique from the August 2006 newsletter. There is something about these grid techniques that just makes me happy. I began creating the background using “Batik #SS032” and Hero Arts Ombre Pink to Red ink. I applied more ink all over the background and then sprayed the whole thing with Perfect Pearls mist by Ranger. I then stamped the “Rose #SD108” with the same ink and popped it up over silver thread finishing off with some gorgeous ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my Technique Junkies post. We will be having an exciting Blog Hop beginning July 1st and I understand the new release will be fantastic!
The House That Stamps Built: Sketch Challenge
It’s the fourth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built sketch challenge. You have until Tuesday, June 30th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
Here’s the Sketch:
For my card today I stamped Repeat Impressions “Rainbow Trout 2909-H with Archival ink and colored him Tim Holtz Distress Markers so I could color directly on the stamp and get some color gradients. I don’t know about you but woodgrain and burlap always remind me of fishing and masculine cards. I distressed the burlap and cut out the fish with Lawn Fawn’s stitched rectangle die. I layered some green ribbon over the burlap ribbon for extra color.
I hope you’ll join us at The House That Stamps Built, you may be our next winner!
Oh, and don’t forget to get your discount code from my blogs sidebar when you shop at Repeat Impressions Stamps.

Summer’s Here!
Hey Junkies! It’s the Crafty Nurse back with a little inspiration post for you today featuring more of the June release stamps from Technique Junkies.
Today I’ve got a great summer card for you using the Gel Medium Resist Technique found on the Sensational Stencil CD.
I began by watercoloring the “Seahorse” stamp using distress inks. To create the background, I applied gel medium through my stencil and allowed to dry. My color was added using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays in gold, brown and blues. The gel medium picks up some of the spray colors which I think looks great. You’ll find more details and other options in the Sensational Stencils CD for this technique. The starfish is cut out from the “Tide Pool Starfish” stamp and the tag is an Avery Elle die.
Here’s a close-up of the gel medium.
I hope you’ll find some time this week to play with your Technique Junkie stamps. Don’t forget to stop by the TJ store and see all the fun new product Pat is carrying in addition to stamps.
See you again soon,
The Crafty Nurse
Doodle Pantry – Camper
Hello friends. Today I used Doodle Pantry’s “Happy Trails Camper” that I colored with Copics. In addition to the individual images there are a few “scenes” already put together for coloring. To achieve the night sky, I used BV25 with white gel pen for stars (thanks for the tip Sandy Allnock). The dies used are Memory Box, Lawn Fawn, Simon Says Stamp, and My Favorite Things. The paper is Carte Bella “Boy oh Boy.”

Send a Smile 4 Kids: Animal Cards 4 Kids
It’s Saturday and time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge. Today we are celebrating Animal Cards 4 Kids! Seems like most kids like animals so this should be a great challenge.
You have until Friday, July 10th to enter, which means an extra week!
I also want to share more great news that Send a Smile 4 Kids continues to grow and has added even more hospitals and volunteers to take your donated cards. With OWH closing on August 1st, we sure hope you’ll consider donating some cards for kids in need. Check out how.
Now, let’s see what this week’s sponsors are generously donating:
1) Crackerbox Palace – offering 3 digital images of winners choice
2) All Dressed Up – offering 2 digital images of winners choice
3) DeeDee Digi – offering $15.00 Gift Certificate to store.
My first card features “Friendly Lion” from Crackerbox Palace. I wanted the image directly on my card base for a clean & simple card. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps called, “Film Strip Sentiments.” I finished off with a few black pearls and called it a card.
Be careful when you are coloring directly onto your card base with copic markers because they will bleed through if you don’t open your card or use a barrier between the layers when you color. Ask me how I know!
My second card uses an adorable image by All Dressed Up called, “Little Treasure.” I used my Copic’s in the trending colors of mint and coral and a great new Pebbles 6 x 6 paper pack called, “Cottage Living”. The stitched base is a die from Simon Says Stamp and the circle die is My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from The Craft Spot, called, “Tiny Tag 2.”
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using Animal images 4 Kids.
