Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit: Card 5
My 5th card uses Deconstructed Sketch 181 starting with the Taffy Bazzill card stock and embossing it with a Sizzix Snowflake folder. I then sprayed that background with perfect pearl mist and sprayed the mist over the ribbon so they matched.

Simon Says Stamp January Kit; Card 4
For this card I used Retro Sketches design 146. I created a frame using My Favorite Things square Dies and stamped the sentiment using “Birthday Buddies” from Paper Smooches. I embossed the background using “Tiny Triangles” from Hero Arts and stamped the sentiment with Navy Hero Arts Shadow Ink. The button is also MFT die tied with Close To My Heart Waxy Thread.

Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit #2
Here’s card 2 using the Simon Says Stamp January card kit and Operation Write Home’s Sketch 245. The tag die is Avery Elle cut from the cream card stock, then stamped Hero Arts Shadow Ink with the stamp set and added some Hero Arts gems. The “miss you” die is from Die-Versions from the OWH Fundraiser last year. I finished off the tag with some organza ribbon.

Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit #1
I got my January Simon Says Stamp card kit in the mail yesterday and wow it’s a purple lovers dream. It’s got some great sentiments and I needed a few thank you cards for Christmas gifts so I made this card. I started by making a purple mist from the perfect pearls in the kit and then grabbed a turquoise perfect pearl from my stash to make a second mist. I sprayed both mists to make the background and stamped the white pigment ink using the kit’s stamp set and embossed with clear. The frame is from My Favorite Things and the stamps in the left corner are stickers from the kit. I finished off with some Doodlebug sequins from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by!

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #26 – All White
Happy Saturday Friends! It’s time for a new Open-Minded Crafting Challenge and for this challenge we are celebrating the simplicity of the all white card. Celebrating with us are some very generous sponsors offering great prizes. You have until Friday, January 2nd to enter your all white card and winners are chosen at random. The Design Team will also feature their favorites so I can’t wait to see your all white cards.
Now let’t get to some of those prizes:
Prize: $5.00 Gift Certificate for Random Winner
Prize: See Open-Minded Crafting Blog
Prize: 5 Images of Winner Choice
Prize: $12.00 Gift Certificate for Random Winner
Prize: 4 Images of Random Winner’s Choice
Now for some inspiration! Today, I’ve chosen an image from Paper Pretties called “Roses”. I printed the image out a few times using a spellbinders flower die and then began layering. The sweet bird is from Memory Box and the vent die is Simon Says Stamp. Sentiment is from Alte New “Magnolia’s for Her”. The difficult thing with all white cards is taking a picture. I found that putting a dark color behind the card instead of having a white background helped.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this All White Challenge at Open-Minded Crafting!
From The Heart Stamps Stamp of the Month
From the Heart Stamp generously provides free digital images for those who participate in their monthly challenges. In addition, they offer 1.00 off coupons for participation in the sketch challenge. I like to do a “twofer”, meaning, I use the sketch offered and the Stamp of the Month image and enter both! I love this month’s stamp. I colored him with Copics and used My Mind’s Eye “Winter Wonderland” 6 x 6 pad. The circle die is from My Favorite Things and the Scallop Circle from Spellbinders. I’ve never seen a green birdbrain but thought I’d give it a whirl.

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch Challenge – Theme: Family
Happy Tuesday! That means it’s time for a new Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch and this week we are celebrating Family! What a perfect theme for this time of year and I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate than to highlight the ugly sweater. We may not want to admit it but we’ve all gotten one at one time or another from family. The sketch challenge runs through Monday, December 22nd and I look forward to seeing how you use this sketch and if you want to, the family theme.
Now, here’s the sketch and my inspiration for you:
I used Art Impression’s Ugly Sweater stamp that included the sentiment and colored her with Copic Markers. The paper was from 2013’s Simon Says Stamp extra card kit and the postage edge was created using a Fiskar’s punch. The gold strip is some great Sparkle tape from Darice that doesn’t rub off and is self-adhesive. Now, let’s see your creations!
