This is a special celebration with lots of prizes and opportunities to thank both our sponsors and you our loyal Blog Hop participants.  Please leave a comment on one of our posts this month for a chance to win.  For even more opportunity to win, enter a card in the challenge.

Today I’ve used Ellen Hutson’s “Cozy Christmas” by Julie Ebersole.  This is such a timeless set and so great for a quick holiday card. I always like to find different ways to use the stamps so the light string became a frame. I also only used part of the “smoke” to create different puffs out of each house.

For my card I’ve used Repeat Impressions Chickadee At Rest #211-P , which I colored with Tombow Markers and stamped in sections using my MISTI tool.  I then clear heat embossed the entire image so I could distress the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The gorgeous sentiment is “PEACE 3215-F” stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Technique Junkies ATC – 30 Days of Christmas

Hello Junkies!!

Are you totally enjoying the 30 days of Christmas here at The Technique Junkies Design Team Blog? I know I sure am.

Today, I’ve got a sweet little ATC card to share with you today that I created using a piece of sticky back canvas that I stenciled with embossing paste using a Tim Holtz holiday stencil.  Once that was dry, I sprayed with Art Anthology Coloration Spray in Avocado and Leaf.  The red ATC base is created using the Red Pepper Color Wash spray with a small spritz of Dylusions White Linen.  To add a little old school feel I broke out the oldie but goodie brads.  My sentiment is from the October Release called, “All is Calm #SDX079” and stamped on black card stock also spritzed with Dylusions White Linen to mimic snow.  Finally, to add some flare, I edged my sentiment with Gold Kylon.

Stop by every day through December 15th to enjoy the Design Teams 30 Days of Christmas here at Technique Junkies.

We’d love to see some of your creations so keep posting them at in the Technique Junkies Yahoo Group!

Happy Inking!!

Text as Background

Hello Fellow Technique Junkies!!

I sure hope you are enjoying Pat’s 30 Days of Christmas, but today, I thought I’d share with you a little inspiration using “Survive Together”,  the gorgeous new November release.  I also used “Trust Your Journey” and “Layered Swirls” as backgrounds. I just love the way the text supports the message and the swirls surround the couple.  Magical.

Until next time,

Happy Inking,

The Crafty Nurse

Cards in Envy Challenge: Thank You

It’s Monday Folks and time for another Cards in Envy Challenge Post.  This week we are honoring Thank You Cards. This is timely with Thanksgiving right around the corner.  The “Thank You” challenge will run through Sunday, December 4th.  Your card can include anything related to being thankful as long as it fits into an envelope.  Winners will be chosen by the Design Team and featured on the Cards in Envy blog.

My card today uses the November 2015 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  I watercolored the leaves after I heat embossed with gold and bronze.

We hope you’ll join us this challenge but are also taking time to be with your family and friends with whom you are thankful.

Technique Junkies – Thankful Swirls

The Crafty Nurse here with more inspiration from Technique Junkies.

Today, I used “Layered Swirls”  as a background for my die cut leaves which I heat embossed in gold.  The sentiment is from “Typewriter Set” and find it a perfect saying for someone weathering a storm, which to me this card represents. The background is Alcohol Ink on Yupo which I spritzed again with 91% Alcohol for that spread out splottchy effect.  I cut out the cardbase using a Simon Says Stamp die. I distressed and added twine to finish.

Stop by Technique Junkies store to pick up some great supplies for your inky pleasure!

Technique Junkies – Coffee Gauge

Hello Junkies

I’m here today with some quick inspiration using the November Technique Junkies stamp release called, “Coffee Gauge #SD703” which I stamped using the Misti tool.  I love using this tool because with large surface stamps like this one you often don’t get a good first impression.

The background is the result of some play with Alcohol Inks on Yupo.  The great thing about this technique is if you don’t like it, simply wipe it off and start over.  So forgiving.  For added flare my background was sent through a texture folder from We R memor Keepers.

The Coffee Gauge is stamped with a dye based ink, then over that I applied Art Anthology Dazzled, which gave it both texture and shine.  I finished off with dyed twine and called her done!

Sure hope you find some time to get your fingers inky today and I’ll see you later on this month for more junkie goodness.

See you then!
