Ellen Hutson’s Pin-sites Challenge

Hello Friends.  Ellen Hutson’s classroom has started hosting monthly challenges.  This week it’s a photo challenge based on the following pinterest photo.

Pin-sites

For my card I used the stripe pattern from My Minds Eye “Everyday Basics” collection.  The foil heart and the rectangles are cut form My Favorite Things dies.  The “love” sentiment is Julie Ebersole’s “Brushstroke” die.   The rest of the sentiment is WPlus 9 “Thank You” set.

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #33 – Food Related

It’s another busy Saturday at The Crafty Nurses’ Blog and today at Open-Minded Crafting Challenges we are celebrating FOOD!  Now, those of you who know me understand that next to crafting, this may be one of my most favorite subjects.  LOL.  That said, for our challenge we are asking for “food related” projects.  You have until Friday, April 10th to show us your food related entries.  Our winners are chosen randomly and we have some super sponsors offering prizes for our challenge.

Here are our sponsors:

DrawnWithCharacter_zpsfb0d9e69Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice

ImagineThat_zpsfeff7c51Prize: 3 Image Sets of Winners Choice

RobynsFetish_zps502cdca6Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice

Zlatoenas_zpsc5f2e633Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice

For inspiration, I used a Drawn with Character image called, “I Chews You”.  There are so many sweet food related images on their site it was hard to pick just one.  I colored the gum-ball machine with Copic Markers and used Doodlebug’s “Take Note” paper pack.

The dies are all My Favorite Things with the exception of the Sizzix key hole die the image sits on. I love these bright colors!

For my card I chose Paper Shelter’s “Soccer Boy” and colored him with Copic Markers.  The design paper is from Simple Stories “DIY Boutique.”  The background, square, circle, and star dies are from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment and star are stamped with My Favorite Things “All Star” stamp set. I hope you like him!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!

March Simon Says Stamp Kit Card 7 & 8

Here are the last two cards from this March kit.  The first uses Operation Write Home’s Weekly Sketch #250.  I added some Bazzill heavy weight vellum and embossed the Hero Arts & Operation Write Home fundraiser stamp with Ranger’s Liquid Platinum embossing powder. The circles & rectangle were cut with My Favorite Things dies.

March Kit Card 7

My second card is an example of covering up a mistake.  I didn’t plan to have a flower at the top left, but I messed up the liquid pearls and tried to remove them but made a royal mess so I had to cover it with the flower.  I stamped the background with the flowers in vanilla Hero Arts Shadow Ink and Fog Simon Says Stamp ink.

The House That Stamps Built: Sketch Challenge

It’s the fourth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built sketch challenge.  You have until Tuesday, March 31st to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.

Here’s the Sketch:

Sketch M2515

For my card today I broke out my favorite Kuretake watercolors.  I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions Large Butterfly 9110-L with archival ink to ensure it didn’t bleed.  I made a few different colored panels to match the butterflies and ran them through the swiss dots Cuttlebug folder to give some dimension.  I used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle to create the top layer.  The sentiment is cut from an oval label die by My Favorite Things and stamped with Repeat Impressions Happy Birthday 1113-D.  I finished off the card with some black splatters and jute I got from Hobby Lobby and called it a wonderfully colorful spring card!

Birthday Blog Hop for Wendy Wyman of Repeat Impressions

Good Morning!

When Wendy Wyman was just 4 years old, she announced that she was going to be an artist when she grew up.  Many years, and many sketchbooks later, she had earned a BFA in Graphic Design.
For the next 11 years found Wendy worked in advertising, freelancing, and ran a printing company.  Then it happened…Wendy’s mom became a stamping addict, and the rest was history!  It was Wendy’s mom’s encouragement that led her to turn her illustrations into fine art rubber stamps.  Wendy’s husband, Bill, was also looking for a career change, and jumped at the idea of learning a new skill.
And so….in 1996, Wendy Wyman, and her husband Bill Welsh established Repeat Impressions Stamps.  Each stamp is designed by Wendy, and manufactured by Bill in their home workshop!

Today, the design team for Repeat Impressions, the Rock Stars, have joined together with a special hop for Wendy’s Birthday!

Wendy loves ATC’s, so we’ve changed things up – instead of cards, we all created ATC’s for Wendy. They were mailed to Cheri, one of our Rock Stars, who has created a wonderful album for them, and sent them on to Wendy.

Wendy, you are one of the sweetest, and most generous people we know. As a ‘boss’, rarely do we find ourselves on a team that is more professionally run, or more organized!  You are so understanding of our personal issues, and it’s a joy to work with you and your products!

We want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!

We look up to, admire and respect you.

May your day today be filled with love and laughter!

And remember….the more candles you have, the bigger the wish you are allowed!

Here are my ATC’s for Wendy:

I colored the Repeat Impressions stamps with Copic markers.  For the backgrounds, I masked off different designs using thin washi tape then applied distress ink.

Thanks for hopping with us!  If you have a minute, please go to the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built, and leave Wendy a bit of Birthday love!!!
