From The Heart Stamps – Midweek Design Team Inspiration

I’m here today with a little Mid-Week DT Inspiration for From The Heart Stamps!  My card today is colored with Copic Markers using the “Hot Chick Flamingo.”   For the background I added 91% Alcohol with cotton tips after adding a base color of marker.  I love how the alcohol reacts and makes a fun background.

I hope you’ll stop by this week to check out both the Sketch Challenge and the Stamp of the Month Challenge at the From The Heart Stamps Blog.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

It’s the fifth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built Anything Goes challenge.  This doesn’t come around too often, but it’s your time to do anything you wish.  You have until Tuesday, July 5th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.

For my card today I used the new Flower Power 10300 Plate.  The background is simply stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Inks in both the base and outline layers.  That’s why I love these new stamps as you can use them plain or with their outlines.  I also added Random Dots 3404-C to fill in the flowers and add color.  I then used the Wonky Frames die by My Favorite Things to cut a window.  I finished off with Hero Arts gems and popped up the entire panel with foam tape.

A Blog Named Hero – Vellum

Hello!  The Crafty Nurse here with a collaboration project with Lil’ Inkers for our Vellum challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

The Modern Mehndi set from Lil’ Inkers is stunning when white heat embossed on vellum.  I colored the back of the vellum with Copic Markers and created a frame with the Lawn Fawn Stitched dies.  The background was embossed on vellum using sparkly powder and I popped up the flowers with foam tape.

Technique Junkies – Bold Shells

Hey Junkies!

I’m back with you today with a little more inspiration from Technique Junkies June release using “Bold Shells #S687.”

The background started with Art Anthology Siesta Keys and Avocado sprays.  These are gorgeous colors and work well under the white heat embossed image.  The sentiment is also a June Release stamp called, “Beach Day #SDX071.”  I finished off with sequins which I filled with stickles to cover the holes.

I’m thrilled you stopped by today and encourage you to subscribe to the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog  for tons of inspiration.

Lindy’s Stamp Gang June Color Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!  I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my project for the June entry.  This month I was inspired by Tamara Laporte via Women Unleashed. Here are the gorgeous colors this month:

June

For my project I used the Beauty School Dropout Magical’s set that includes, Summer Lovin’ Sun, Pink Ladies Pink, T-bird Turquoise, Kissin’ Kenieckie Coral, and Frenchy’s Pink Pouf.   Though you can’t really see it, I did add some Scintillating Silver a glitz spritz.

I started with 140lb watercolor paper and lightly sprayed it with the above colors making sure to dry in between layers.  I did mix my own colors using the Magical’s, which I love to do because it takes up less room than bottles of sprays (though I have two containers of sprays too!). After spraying, I doodled with Posca pens in black and white.  This was inspired by a fabulous teacher, Tamara Laporte so please check her out.

Mermaid Beach Day by Technique Junkies

Hey Junkies!

The Crafty Nurse back with some inky inspiration for this wonderful early summer day!  I hope you all get a chance to play a little in your craft room while you enjoy the gorgeous weather.

For my card today I used the new June release “By The Sea #SS060 Set of 6″   The technique today is from the Emboss or Die CD called, “Masked Spellbinders.”   I also used July 2015 Palettini Collection “Shells #PS009″ which really works well with this new collection.

The sentiment is from “Beach Day #SDX071” simply stamped. After stamping the Mermaid I colored her in with Art Anthology “Black Leather Jacket” for extra sparkle and shine.  I also added some free flow doodling around the edge of the masked area.

Thanks for stopping by the Technique Junkies Blog today and we all wish you lots of creative play today and always.

From The Heart Stamps: Midweek Design Team Inspiration

It’s Wednesday and time for the From The Heart Stamps  Mid-Week Design Team Inspiration. Today, I made a Father’s Day card using the Hamlet PigWit “Tee It Up by From the Heart Digital Images.   I began making the background as shown by Tim Holtz in the June Tag of the Month using his “stripes” stencil.  Also, if you weren’t aware, Chemistry 101, 102, and 103 are now available through Online Card Classes.  This is one of the best classes to learn more about Distress Inks.

For this image I used Copics and added some Hickory Smoke distress ink to the edges. The circle die is by My Favorite Things.  One of the ways to make sure your colors match, is to make you own paper using Distress Ink, which I did with Barn Door behind my image. I created my own bricks by applying distress ink inside the embossing folder, running in through, then adding more ink when it’s out. Cool, Huh?

Hope we see you this week at From the Heart Stamps to participate in the Sketch challenge or the Stamp of the Month Challenge.  Happy Summer!

Cards in Envy Challenge: White Wedding

Happy Monday!  That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week we are celebrating White Wedding cards! Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope without any large lumps or bumps.

The challenge will run through Sunday, July 3rd and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.

For my card I started with Simon Says Stamps “Heart Parade” die which I cut out using Neenah Solar White card stock and adhered using “Stick it”.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp called, “Congratulations“.  I added wink of stella over a few of the hearts and then topped with Glossy Accents.

White Wedding

I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for the Cards in Envy  “White Wedding” Challenge!

Send a Smile 4 Kids – Challenge #127 – “Punch and Die Cuts”

It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge!  This challenge we are playing with “Punches and Die Cuts” on your cards this week.

Our wonderful sponsors are:

1) Dollar Graphics Depot – offering $15.00 gift certificate

2) Bugaboo – offering seven (7) digi’s to our winner

Thank you so much to our sponsors for supporting SAS4Kids!

Now, on to the inspiration.  For my card I used the Dollar Graphics Depot image called “Natures Colors”. This is an entire sheet of digital images for $1.00!  What a bargain for images that can be used over and over again.

I created the background using the technique I found on Pinterest using glue, distress inks, and a score-pal.  If you want the details, here’s the link.   I used a few dies this week including stitched ovals from My Favorite Things and a bow die by Paper Smooches.  My Tim Holtz sentiment is colored with Copic markers as is the focal image.

You have until Friday, July 1st to enter your “Punches & Die Cuts” entry for Send a Smile 4 Kids. We’d also love it if you considered donating your cards for hospitalized children across nation. Check out how to donate here.
