Technique Junkies – Do you have a song?
Hey Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here with another card from the Technique Junkies March release and I for one am thrilled because this has been a favorite for me.
Today, I brought out my colored pencils using a super fun technique called, “Krafty Color Guilding from the Bodacious Backgrounds CD.” I admit the coloring craze has bitten me and I had a great time with this technique because this “Whimsical World #S634” image couldn’t be more perfect for using pencils.
I also love the sentiment “Always Find a Song #SD414” because to me it is about your own choice to either put a song in your heart or remain silent.
I hope you will choose to sing!
In a few short days we will be sharing our April release and I for one can’t wait. We hope you will come back and hop with the Design Team. Until then, keep inking!
The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes
It’s the fifth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built Anything Goes challenge. This doesn’t come around too often, so it’s your time to do anything you wish. You have until Tuesday, April 5th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
For my card today I broke out my Kuretake Gamsi Watercolors. I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions “Daffodil 904-L” with Archival Black Ink so it wouldn’t bleed. I then used masking fluid to ensure a crisp background. The background die is from Simon Says Stamp and I finished off with clear sequins.
Come join us at The House That Stamps Built, for this “anything goes challenge.” You may be our next winner! If you use a Repeat Impressions Stamp in your design, you’ll get an extra entry!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch #145 – Use Sponging
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with Sketch #145 at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image. The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to use add sponging.
I used only the sketch this week highlighting the “Hope Butterflies” image which I fussy cut to place over the square element in the sketch.
The paper is Cottage Living by Pebbles. I colored the image with Copic Markers and added a sentiment die by Savvy Stamps. The cross stitching border die is by My Favorite Things.
I hope you’ll join us for the sketch #145 this week at From The Heart Stamps.
Distress Rainbow with Avery Elle & A Blog Named Hero
Hello! The Crafty Nurse here with another card for our Rainbow challenge here at A Blog Named Hero.
For this card I used the gorgeous stamp by Avery Elle called, “Canopy” from their newest release. It pairs perfectly with the Hero Arts sentiment from “Enjoy Today.”
It’s been great to see all the rainbow cards shared by the designers and entered by our great followers at A blog Named Hero. To make this rainbow background, start by white heat embossing your image then take a mini distress cube and apply it to the end of an acrylic block in a 1/4 inch line.
Then, spray the ink with a little water and apply in rainbow order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. I use watercolor paper for best results and try to overlap the colors a little bit for good mixing.
I hope you’ll join us at A Blog Named Hero for our March Rainbow Card Challenge! Thanks again to Avery Elle for their collaboration this month and don’t forget to stop by and check out their new release.
A Day For Daisies: Challenge “Add Glitter”
It’s Friday and time for a new post at A Day For Daisies! This week we begin a new challenge by “adding glitter.” The challenge will run through Thursday, March 31st at noon on the A Day For Daisies Blog!
For my card today I used the sweet showcase image called, “Carrots for Supper.” I colored her with Copic Markers and used a Hero Arts sentiment from “Fancy Basics.” I then added prisma glitter, also by Hero Arts and added a doodled frame.
We’d love for you to visit our Facebook Community Page where you can post your creations in addition to adding them on the blog. Adding “glitter” to your projects can be super fun and I can’t wait to see what your creations bring this week.
Technique Junkies Purple Haze
Hello Junkie Friends. I’m here today with a quick card using one of the March Technique Junkie release stamps, “Whimsical World S634.”

Lindy’s Stamp Gang March Color Challenge
Hello Crafty Friends! I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my page for the March entry. Here are the gorgeous colors this month:
I’m also entering the card in the Mixed Media Photo Challenge Number 22.
For Lindy’s challenge, I used Lindy’s Starburst Spray in “Baby Blue Eyes Aqua” and Lindy’s Flat Fabio in Plumeria Pink and Luscious Lime. After spraying and using a straw to move the colors, I stamped the Dina Wakely clear stamp (I got half price at Michael’s last week) in Archival Ink. I then went a letter crazy and doodled. I am certainly not a natural doodler but I’m taking a class with JoAnne Sharpe that has really inspired me called “Artfully Inspired Life 2016.”
