From The Heart Stamps: Mid-week Design Team Inspiration 2-22-17

It’s Wednesday and time for the From The Heart Stamps  Mid-week Design Team Highlights.  Today, I made a spring inspired love card using Love You Mouse by From the Heart Digital Images.   As a reminder we have the Stamp of the Month challenge as well as the current sketch challenge for you to join.

I colored this sweetie with cool grey Copic Markers then cut him out with an oldie but goodie Spellbinders circle die. My papers are by Lawn Fawn.

We hope we see you this week over at From the Heart Stamps.  We are glad to back and seeing your beautiful cards. In addition to posting your card in the challenge, We’d love to see you on the FTHS Facebook group.

From The Heart Stamps Sketch #162 – Twist: Snow Day

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  I’m here with sketch #162 at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image and the sketch.  The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is: Snow Day.

As you can tell from my card, I chose not to use the “twist” this week, but just the sketch.  My image is the new, “Bunnies and Butterflies” which I colored with Copic Markers and cut out with a stitched My Favorite Things stitched cross stitch die.  The background is textured with a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink in Stormy Sky. The bow element is a Paper Smooches die.

We sure hope you’ll join us for Sketch #162 at From The Heart Stamps  this week. Also, don’t forget to stop by and join the FTHS Facebook group.  Happy Monday!!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch #161

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  The sketch challenges are back on here at From The Heart Stamps.  Today, we have Sketch 161, which has two twists.  The first is the color option and the second is to use a birthday cake.

The only rule is to use a From The Heart image and the sketch and the rest is up to you.  Here’s our sketch:

For my card I am still in a “Valentine” mood.  To show case this I used February’s Free “Stamp of the Month” called, “Hogs & Kisses Pigwit”.   If you participated in our last SOTM challenge in June, you’ll have gotten this image for free in your e-mail.  If not, there’s still a way to get the image.  Check it out here.

I colored up Pigwit with Copic Markers in my favorite piggy color combination of R01, YG67, & Ro2.  I also used the warm grey’s in W5, W3, W1, W0 & W00.  The candies are colored using RV29, RV25, RV23, & RV21 and finally, the ground is E43, E41 and E40.

From The Heart Stamps February Blog Hop!

Were back!  We’ve missed all of you during our hiatus but the design team has come back together for the From the Heart Stamps February blog hop.  This month our theme is “Love and Friendship.” With Valentine’s around the corner, what a great way to get some inspiration from all the FTHS designers so please make sure you stop by all of their blogs to see their hop projects.

If you have arrived from Kathy Curry’s blog, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using “In My Heart Birdbrain.”  As many of you know I’ve pulled back from a lot of the design team work I’d been doing and it felt really nice to get back into some Copic coloring using FTHS images.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Snowy Birds

Happy New Year!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge .  This week our theme is “Snowy Birds.”

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.

For today’s card went to an adorable mini set by Lawn Fawn called “Winter Sparrows”.  To compliment the scene, I used the Lawn Fawn “Peace, Joy, Love” 6 x 6 paper pack.  My Winter Sparrows and Copic Colored in B000 & R000 as well as the R35 for their hats.

I Hope 2017 is a great year for you and that you join us throughout this new year by entering your cards over at Cards in Envy.  We really do enjoy your participation.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Celebrate the Season

Happy Monday!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge.  This week our theme is “Celebrate The Season.”

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope, which is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.  You have until January 1st to enter.

For today’s card I used Tim Holtz “Stamptember” Holiday Poinsettia stencil.  This came in combination with a beautiful stamp set called “Holiday”, which can’t be found in the set, but can be purchased separately at Simon Says Stamp.  I began by applying Picket Fence Distress Ink through the stencil, then shifted the stencil down and applied Festive Berries Distress Ink.  I was inspired by Jana Millen who featured this stamp in September when it was released.  I also added a few sequins and placed Stickles in the middle of each for extra bling.

I wish each and every one of you a special holiday season in whatever way your family celebrates.  We hope you’ll join us at Cards in Envy for our “Celebrate the Season” Challenge!

Cards in Envy Challenge: Wouldn’t That Be Sweet

Happy Monday!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge .  This week our theme is “Wouldn’t That Be Sweet.” Some examples would be candy, cookies, cupcakes or maybe a sweet teddy bear, animal, or even a child.

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.

For today’s card I used My Favorite Things “Twice The Wishes” card kit from July 2016. It’s sold out but the die and paper can be purchased separately.  This layered cake has a cool slider die that I elected not to use, but is really fun.  I thought the Gnome also from MFT would sit perfectly on top of this cake.  I colored him with Copics in BG45, BG23, & BG11 and skin tones in E50, E51, E11 & R20.  I finished off the card using some wink of stella and yellow Pico Embellisher Irresistibles.

Cards in Envy: Pumpkin Challenge

Hello Friends!  It’s Monday and time for a Cards in Envy challenge.  Our theme this challenge is all about PUMPKINS!  You can use a pumpkin on your card, or just use pumpkin colors. Our rules have lightened up a little bit and now your card entries can be any size as long as it still fits into an envelope.  You can use a little more dimension too. Our challenge will run through Sunday, November 20, just in time to get those Thanksgiving cards made and in the mail.

For my card today I used a pumpkin stamp that I pulled from my stash that I got years ago in a grab bag so I don’t know the artist.  I colored up the image with Copic Markers and added some distress inks.  The paper is Carta Bella’s “Autumn” collection and the leaves are from Impression Obsession dies with a bit of Distressed Glitter on the edges.  The background is gold heat embossed and I finished off with some Nuvo drops in gold.

Hope you stop by and enter a card this challenge over at Cards in Envy!

Cards in Envy Challenge: “Purple & Green”

Happy Monday!  That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week we are celebrating “Purple & Green.”

Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 card without any large lumps or bumps. The challenge will run through Sunday, October 30th and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.

For my card I used the My Favorite Things “Witch Way Candy” an adorable  stamp set I’ve been wanting to use for some time.  I colored all the images with Copic Markers and fussy cut them all.  The window die is also MFT and the background stamp is Hero Arts.  I finished up distressing the edges.

purple-green

I’m looking forward to seeing your “Purple & Green” entries this week!  I’ve also added this card into the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #29 using this Mood Board.
