The Crafty Nurse here celebrating Day 28 of the 30 Days Of Christmas. I am casing Pat’s card she posted in the TJ Inkspirations a few weeks ago where she heat embossed the “Winter Foliage” stamp on vellum, then colored with markers on the backside.
For my card, I embossed with Liquid Platinum powder by Ranger on vellum then colored with a combination of Copics and Faber Castell Pit Pens. My sentiment is die cut three times from Tim Holtz’s “Holiday Words” thinlits. To add shine, I applied Pico Embellisher Irresistible in Shimmer.
We would love for you to keep following the Design Team Blog for more Christmas ideas using the Technique Junkies stamps. There are only a few days left so we hope you’ve enjoyed the cards and found inspiration for your holiday card making.
By for now,
The Crafty Nurse
Hello Crafty Friends! I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my card for the July entry. For this month I’ve combined the Lindy’s Challenge with Technique Junkies stamps because Pat is offering 15% off all July Release Stamps.
Here are the gorgeous colors this month:
For Lindy’s challenge, I used a combination of Sprays, Magical Mica, and Hot Shot’s. I began by mixing Bonjour Butter Flat Hot Shot with water to create a spray. I did the same with Peony Scarlet Red Magical Mica. I then sprayed the background with the Bonjour Butter, Blue Hawaiian Blue Starburst, and Aloha Avocado Flat Spray. I then splattered the Peony Scarlet Red and Dark Chocolate Truffle Starburst Spray and stamped Technique Junkies “Faint Scratches” in both white and gray.
I then sprayed more Peony Scarlet Red on my craft mat and then “stamped” the Technique Junkies “Here We Go Round in Circles” into the spray and applied to card base. Over that I stamped more circles with Hero Arts Black ink and embellished with Signo Uniball White pen (my favorite). I created the clouds using an My Favorite Things die spraying with Aloha Avocado, Bonjour Butter, and Dark Chocolate Truffle then embossed with a Paper Studio folder and inked with Distress ink in Gathered Twigs.
I then stamped the new July Release stamp from Technique Junkies called, “Life is a Song” and cut out leaves from canvas using WPlus9 die. The entire project was sealed with Collage Pauge in Matte then I took a Faber Castell Pitt pen in brown and edged the dies helping them sink into the card. I finished off by cutting the whole thing out using a Simon Says Stamp stitched die.
Hope you are enjoying the 4th of July and spend quality time with your friends and family!
I was honored to have been chosen as the March Guest Designer at Mixed Media Mojo. The challenge will be up for the entire month of March and features Artist Trading Cards, better known as ATC’s. In addition, there is a challenge twist of having a “Set of 2”. This can be two cards as I made, or can be two of anything, such as elements, colors, or anything else in pairs.
For my cards I used a collage technique choosing a bunch of different papers and scraps from my craft desk. Some were painted, some sprayed, and some embossed. Choose a collection of scraps (I don’t throw anything away) and adhere to your ATC. After the glue is dried, choose a thin roll of washi tape and create a masked design in any fashion. I chose a diagonal pattern. Then apply versamark to the top of the washi design and apply embossing powder. I removed the tape before I heat set, but you don’t have to.
Once your background is created, choose some stamps to decorate your ATC. I distressed with Faber Castell Pitt pens in grey and distress inks after I applied a layer of gel medium and dried.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to see what you create this month.
Day 28 is using Embossing Pastes and Sprays. I used Molding Paste with a Club Scrap Stencil from “Breathe” collection and sprayed Dylusions over that. Then I used some cut out collage pages we did earlier in the month to make my flowers collaging them on top. I then used Multi-medium to cover the flowers and highlighted them with the Pitt Brush Pen from Faber Castell. That’s a great technique if you haven’t tried it because you can make a pen mark and then wipe it away if you work quickly, leaving a halo surrounding the flowers. Only two more days left, then back to some card making. Woohoo!
Today’s technique was using FlitterGlu and Metal Flakes. As I don’t have that and my metal leafing is packed, I just did a normal page, this time trying a darker background. I also made more newsprint collage pages to get some colorful flowers. I’m loving the newsprint collage pages! I also added shading with the Faber Castell Pit Brush Pen. As long as you have multi-medium down on the page, you have a few minutes to wipe down the marker to create depth.
Today’s page is using a newsprint collage that was made for Day 18, then cut up and adhered to the journal page with multi-medium. The newsprint is SO MUCH easier to use than watercolor paper as it is easy to decoupage on the page and looks as if it’s part of the page, not added on. To color the image I outlined with my Faber Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen and then wiped it off to create shading. Then I doodled with Molotow Markers, my new favorite toy!
