Sketch Saturday Challenge #376
Happy Saturday! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Little Claire, who is offering 9 digital images as a prize to our random winner. WOW, thanks Little Claire. You have until Friday, September 4th to enter for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose Little Claire digital image, “Meadow Girl Silhouette.” I went a little mixed media for my card today by using a print I made from another project which I painted, stenciled, inked, and otherwise just played on. I then die cut this with My Favorite Things frame die. For the image, I created stripes of Distress ink in Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, and Mermaid Lagoon. The sentiments are an older Stampin’ Up set applied to flags labels I cut out.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!

A Day For Daisies: New Challenge – Use Plaid 8-28-15
Happy Friday! It’s new challenge time at A Day For Daisies and we are using “Plaid.” Plaid goes so well with the showcase of our Veggie Lover collection!
I decided to make my own plaid pattern using The Alley Way’s “Crossing Lines” stamp set, but there are a lot of plaid stamp sets out there or pull from lined stamps already in your stash. If you ever need inspiration, Laura Bassen of Doublestick Heaven is the queen of plaid. For my colors I used Hero Arts Butter Bar, Soft Leaf, Raspberry Jam and Simon Says Stamp, Green Leaf.
I colored the “Fancy Beets” with Copics in R37, R39 and RV99. The stems were colored in YG03, YG17 and YG67. The sentiment label and circle die are Clearly Besotted, thanks sentiment is Simon Says Stamp, and “a bunch” is WPlus9.
This is sure to be a super fun challenge and we can’t wait to see your plaid creations on both A Day For Daisies Blog and Facebook Community Page!

For my card today, I’ve used SLS Lines “Tired Mom.” I think those of us mothers can related, right? I colored colored mom with Copic Markers and used Glitz’s “Brightside” 6 x 6 paper pad. My image and card base were cut out using a My Favorite Things dies. My large sentiment “MOM” is cut out using a WPlus9 die, colored with Copics and glittered. I figured she needed a little sparkle.

Technique Junkies – Contemporary Flowers
Hello Junkie Friends. Today I’m bringing you a couple of clean and simple cards using another August Release stamp called “Contemporary Flowers S#638.” I absolutely love this stamp and have been using it like crazy!
My first card is simply heat embossed with clear powder over Versafine Black Onyx ink. The sentiment is another August Release called, “Always Hope SD#651.”
My second card features the Spritzed Stone Tutorial from Technique Junkies Newsletter Dec 09/Jan 10′, which uses Copics and 91% alcohol. I love the way this background came out. For the sequins, I added stickles in the center to give both shine and cover that little hole.
I hope you’ll join us over at the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog for more inky goodness.

Technique Junkies – The Right Shoes
Hello Fellow Junkies!!
It’s The Crafty Nurse here with a clean and simple card share for you using the gorgeous Technique Junkies stamp called “The Right Shoes #SD610.” I colored them with Copic Markers in R05, R27, R46, which is one of my favorite red combinations. The bottom of the shoes are C3, C5, and C7 and the skin colors are E50, E51, and E21.
The background was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder using “Faint Scratches #SD518.” This background stamp is perfect for so many design types and I find myself reaching for it often to add great texture.
The Right Shoes stamp is so striking on it’s own I wanted to showcase it with a clean design. The angle piece was cut using My Favorite Things Blueprint #15 die and I finished off the card with a waxed linen bow.
I hope you are finding some time to get inky today!
