Cards in Envy Challenge: Framed with Circles

Happy Monday!  It’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge.  This week, we are looking for cards that are “Framed with Circles”.  Your circles can be stamped, die cut, drawn, or paper pieced, but please add some circles on your card and make sure it fits into an A2 sized envelope.  The challenge will run through Sunday, December 31st and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on The Cards in Envy blog.

For my card today I used Lawn Fawns “Snow Day” stamp set.  To make the circle frame, I started with a piece of the pattern paper from the Peace, Love and Joy paper pack and chose a Hero Arts Circle infinity die larger than my design paper, creating a “frame”.  Once the circle was cut out, it created two pieces that I adhered to my card front. I then took two smaller circle dies taped together onto some red design paper and cut those out which created another frame.  I die cut a final circle with green cardstock.  For my focal image, I stamped the heart in red and added snowflakes in white.  I finished off with a bow and a sentiment from the same set.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for your “Framed in Circles” card for the Cards in Envy Challenge!

Cards in Envy Challenge: Snowy Birds

Happy New Year!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge .  This week our theme is “Snowy Birds.”

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.

For today’s card went to an adorable mini set by Lawn Fawn called “Winter Sparrows”.  To compliment the scene, I used the Lawn Fawn “Peace, Joy, Love” 6 x 6 paper pack.  My Winter Sparrows and Copic Colored in B000 & R000 as well as the R35 for their hats.

I Hope 2017 is a great year for you and that you join us throughout this new year by entering your cards over at Cards in Envy.  We really do enjoy your participation.

My card today uses a fantastic summer image by Sami called,  “Warm Sand”.  I colored him up with Copic Markers and used Lawn Fawn “Into the Woods” paper pack along with Simon Says Stamp “Happy & Smile”  stamp set to embellish. The square die is My Favorite Things and I made the sand by mixing glossy accents with glitter!

Cards in Envy Challenge: No Girls Allowed!

Happy Monday!  We are celebrating “No Girls Allowed” for the Cards in Envy challenge this week. That means we’d love to see cards that showcase boys, men or masculine cards.  Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 size envelope without any large lumps or bumps, but doesn’t have to be an actual A2 card anymore.

The challenge will run through Sunday, June 19th. Our design team will also be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.

My card features a “Mo Manning’s Bubbles Boy” digi, which I colored up using Copic Markers.  I learned a cool new way to color bubbles from the Copic Website.  Check out my Pinterest to see how.   The papers are from an older Lawn Fawn 6 x 6 pack as is the Journaling Die.   The outside frame is a Simon Says Stamp die and the tab is My Favorite Things Die.

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #117 – Birthday Fun!

Happy Saturday Friends!  It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is Birthday Fun.

At SAS4Kids, we are so fortunate to have spectacular sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different.  I’d also like to mention if you are interested in bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized, we’d love for you to send in some of your cards for the kids; here’s how.

2) Bugaboo: Prize is 7 images of winners choice

I also added some My Favorite Things Balloons that I popped up with foam tape, added a Paper Smooches bow tie die, and finished off with some Lawn Fawn design paper.

Crafting By Design – Guest Designer

Hello all.  I’m honored to have been chosen again as a guest designer for Crafting By Design.  Today, the challenge is “snowmen” and I knew that From The Heart Stamps would be a great choice to find a perfect snowman because Faith is in the middle of Project 100 snowmen.

A Day For Daisies: Frame Challenge 9-11-15

It’s Friday and time for a new challenge at A Day For Daisies!  For our new challenge, we are showcasing Frames!

For my Design Team inspiration, I chose one of the new release stamps called,  “Fairy Flower Bouquet Portrait.”  I colored the image with Copic Markers in deep violets and bright greens.

For the frame, I used a die cutting trick of using two dies taped together thereby creating a frame of whatever shape you choose. I then inlayed another piece of the Lawn Fawn pattern paper to add a little more background.  My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  I finished off with some silver metallic thread and white gel pen.

I sure hope you’ll stop by and see all the other designers cards showing their “Frame” creations.  The challenge will run through Thursday, September 24th at Noon.  See you at A Day For Daisies Blog!

We’d also love for you to visit our Facebook Community Page as we’d love to see your cards there too!
