Sketch Saturday Challenge #385 – Pick Your Own Sketch
Happy Halloween Friends! It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a new Sketch Saturday challenge. This week we are sponsored by Sami Stamps who is offering a generous $12.00 gift certificate to our random winner. Thanks Sami!
It’s also a Pick Any Sketch week, which is super fun. You may chose any previous Sketch Saturday Sketch from 215 – 375. You have until Friday, November 6th to enter your card for a chance to win.
For my Sketch I chose Sketch 355:
For my card I chose Sami’s sweet digi called, “Pumpkin Smile” and colored him with Copic Markers. The design paper is from Carta Bella’s “Fall Blessings” collection. The circle, flag, tree and faux stitching dies are from My Favorite Things. The background base die is Simon Says Stamp. I added additional pumpkin goodness using the Lawn Fawn So Thankful mini set and the leaves from Lawn Fawn’s Sweater Weather set.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!

A Day For Daisies: Green Eye’d Monster Showcase
It’s Friday and today at A Day For Daisies we are showcasing the Green Eye’d Monster collection! As a reminder, we are still playing our “Treat Box Challenge” through Thursday November 5th so we hope you’ll join us.
To highlight the Green Eye’d Collection, I made a card using “Monster Chris.” The paper pad is from Bazzill’s Arsenic & Lace. I stamped ink splats in versamark and covered them in clear powder for the background. The sentiment is My Favorite Things and Chris is colored with Copics. It’s hard to see, but the black strip is embossed with triangles and inked. To add some depth to his eyes, I finished off with Black Enamel Accents by Ranger.
We look forward to seeing you at both A Day For Daisies Blog and Facebook Community Page!
From The Heart Stamps – Mid-Week Inspiration
This week has been a rough one for me between having my tooth pulled, then a week later having a root canal in the tooth next to that one. I had pain like you wouldn’t believe, therefore, I hope you’ll forgive me that I completely forgot to post my Wednesday Mid-Week DT Inspiration for From The Heart Stamps!
My card today is colored with Copic Markers. I stamped the background in hero arts silver pigment ink using a Lawn Fawn snowflake. The pattern paper is also Lawn Fawn. I finished the cap with Liquid Applique, which looks like snow when heated.
I look forward to seeing you over at From The Heart Stamps Community both on the blog and on Facebook.
A Day For Daisies: Make a Treat Item Continues
Here at A Day For Daisies the design team is celebrating Halloween with the continuation of our “Treat Box” challenge. This week we are showcasing the “Green Eye’d Monsters” digi’s all week.
Again, the treat items can be little boxes, bags, or anything that you can give to someone as a treat. This challenge will run through Thursday, November 5th at Noon.
I just love Monster Joe’s eyes! For my box I used another Fiskar’s box template cut out in Kraft card stock. After assembling, I inked the edges, added washi tape, stamped the spider web from Inkadinkado and created a My Favorite Things sentiment. Now this is something I can fill with lots of goodies and give to a friend!
Hope my Monster Joe treat box gives you some inspiration to come join our challenge. Can’t wait to see what you create!
Technique Junkies – Christmas Day 14
Hello Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here celebrating the 30 Days Of Christmas here on the Design Team Blog. I am absolutely in love with the “Christmas Dove” stamp and couldn’t resist using it again for my Day 14 post.
To create the card I used the Rubbed Gelato’s Technique from the Artistic Effects CD. This begins by stamping “Christmas Dove” on watercolor paper and heat embossing with white powder. I then applied the Rubbed Gelato Technique and created a shaker card for some fun. The silver frame is a My Favorite Things die. To create some additional visual interest, I stamped one of the many fabulous Snowflakes stamps on the card edges then finished with the “Merry Christmas 2” sentiment.
We would love for you to keep following the Design Team Blog for more Christmas ideas using the Technique Junkies stamps. There is only a few days left to grab the Christmas stamps at 20% off through October 31st.
By for now,
The Crafty Nurse

A Day For Daisies: Make a Treat Item Challenge
Happy Friday! I’m thrilled to be posting today for A Day For Daisies new challenge showcasing the Pumpkin Head collection. For our challenge we would love to see some treat items. They can be little boxes, bags, or anything that you can give to someone as a treat. This challenge will run through Thursday, November 5th at Noon.
I couldn’t resist using Pumpkin Head 2 which I colored with Copic’s. The tree is from a Tim Holtz embossing folder and stencil which I fussy cut out. The treat box is an older Fiskars template so it was fun to break out some goodies from my stash I hadn’t see in a while. I love that these challenges push your creativity!
Hope my sweet pumpkin head treat box gives you some inspiration to come join our challenge. Can’t wait to see what you talented creators make!
