The Crafty Nurse here for a midweek post to spark your creative flow. Have you joined our monthly challenge? If not, we’d love to see your cards and your entry may just win a prize at the same time. You can find the challenge over on the sidebar of the Technique Junkies Blog.
We’d also love to see your cards and projects over at the new Technique Junkies Facebook Group.
Now let’s get on to the inspiration. I’ve combined both new older Technique Junkies Stamps for a masculine themed card. I used die cuts to create interest and added depth with distress inks.
Happy Monday! That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week we are celebrating White on White cards! Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope.
The challenge will run through Sunday, July 2nd. Our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.
For my card I started with a Spellbinders Die and created a shaker card with white sequence. My sentiment is from WPlus9 called, “Doodle Buds”, stamped in Hero Arts Silver.
White on White cards are so fun to create, but hard to photograph. I ended up using a filter to get that tonal white on white feel. I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for the Cards in Envy Challenge!
Hey Fellow Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here today with another card from our June 2017 release using “Let Your Life Shine” stamp. To create the sun rays, I used the Tim Holtz “Ray’s” Stencil with Squeezed Sunshine, Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed Distress inks. I added a layer of Art Anthology “splash” which is a sparkle medium over the entire piece. I then added some birds with Art Anthology Stencil “Take Flight”. I finished off the card with a frame of Art Anthology “Lava” for a black frame.
Thanks for stopping by the today and as always we wish you lots of creative play today and always.

Bye, Bye for now!!
Hey Fellow Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here today with another card from the June Release for Technique Junkies using the Nautical Background stamp. I began by stamping and embossing the Nautical Background, then used a My Favorite Things stamp to die cut “Happy Birthday” four times. I then glued all those dies together, replacing the top embossed piece back over all the stack of die cuts. I then fit the entire stack back into place on my card.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and as always we wish you lots of creative play today. Stop by the Facebook Group to show us your work.

Bye, Bye for now!!
The Crafty Nurse “swimming” by to share some mid-week inspiration using stamps from the Technique Junkies June release. You still have a few days to receive 15% percent off this great release over at the Technique Junkies store.
The background for my card is from Sensational Stencils CD called Distress Stain Dip. I changed it up to use Distress Paint instead of stains in the colors Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon and Wild Honey. I added a wave texture using a Tim Holtz Stencil then added additional distress ink around the edges.
For the focal image, I stamped “Mermaid on Rock” onto 140lb. watercolor paper with Archival Ink. I colored my mermaid using Windsor Newton Watercolor markers and added highlights with prismacolor pencils. Adding pencils over watercolor is a great way to add depth to your coloring.
Enjoy your day!!
Happy Monday! We are celebrating “You’re The Man” for the Cards in Envy challenge this week. That means we’d love to see cards that showcase boys, men or masculine cards of any occasion. Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 size envelope.
My card features Artistic Impressions “Gordon Golf”. After stamping him on Copic X-Press it paper with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored him with Copic Markers. The design on the pants was inspired by the stamps packaging. For my background, I took a stamp from Club Scrap’s 2008 Mirror, Mirror collection and stamped a plaid pattern with using Navy, Cornflower, & Web Cement shadow inks.
You have until Sunday, June 18th to enter the “You’re The Man” challenge over at Cards in Envy. Can’t wait to see what you do.
Entered in: Stamp Ink Paper: Masculine
My card started with a very old stencil by Club Scrap from the October 2001 kit club. The colors were Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Red Royal, Butter Ball and Dusty Blue. I thought the “Like Fireworks” sentiment worked perfectly as she lights the way forward. I think the sentiment also works for 4th of July themed cards.
I hope you find some time to get crafty today. We are all over at the Technique Junkies Facebook Page so if you haven’t stopped by, we’d love to see you! You still have until June 8th to buy any June Release stamp at 15% off over at the Technique Junkies store.
