Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #31 Good Luck
Happy Saturday! I do love the weekend! Today at Open-Minded Crafting we begin our “Good Luck” challenge, which runs through Friday, March 13th. There are lots of prizes from our generous sponsors so I hope you’ll join us. Our design team will also choose their favorite so check back to see if your card was featured at Open-Minded Crafting Challenges.
Here’s our sponsors this week and the prizes they are offering:
Prize: $10 Dollar Gift Certificate
For my card today, I chose a striking image from Dilly Beans. In keeping with the theme of luck, I had to use a lot of green. I colored her with Copics and used the Amy Tangerine “Plus One” collection. The circle die is My Favorite Things and the sentiment is Paper Smooches.
Can’t wait to see what your Good Luck looks like!
Sketch Saturday Challenge #350
Happy Saturday! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by our own Niki Roland at Being Scrappy who is generously offering a prize pack for our random winner. Get your card in by Friday, March 6th for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose a My Favorite Things heart die instead of a circle. I cut the heart from the front of the card and then backed it with old book paper from the Simon Says Stamp February Kit. I created a frame by tracing around the die to make a slightly bigger heart, then die cut that with the same heart die, leaving a thin border. The paper and the sentiment are also from the kit.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
The House That Stamps Built: Sketch Challenge
It’s the fourth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built sketch challenge. You have until Tuesday, March 3rd to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
Here’s the Sketch:
For my card I’ve created a flower using the Repeat Impressions Hot Air Balloon 9116-N and Hugs and Kisses Stencil 1215-H. Last week I mentioned you can ink up your sentiment stamps any way you like to create a new or different sentiment.
This week I wanted to share with you how to think about your stamps completely differently. When I looked at the Hot Air Balloon’s, I saw a flower. I used several different Hero Arts inks to create the rainbow of color and Basic Grey’s Kneehigh’s paper pack.

Sugar Sketch #20
Hope you’re not sick of the February kit yet, but here is another card using Sugar Sketch 20 rotated on it’s side. The circle die is My Favorite Things, the heart die is Simon Says Stamp, and the border die is Lawn Fawn. Everything else is from the SSS February Kit.
Simon Says Stamp Feb Kit
Happy Saturday! I’m finishing up my February Simon Says Stamp kit because the March kit is on it’s way! This kit has been one of my favorites and for this card I’m using the Operation Write Home Sketch 248. I’ve used several dies from My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp. The red heart is a wood veneer element covered in red paint and clear crackle paint in rock candy. I also used the script stamp from My Favorite things and a Cuttlebug texture folder. The background is a mixture of the gold gelato and distress inks.

Send a Smile 4 Kids: Punches and/or Die Cuts
Happy Saturday! That means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge and we are having fun with punches and dies. I can remember a few years ago when it was not common to have a die for almost every stamp made and that you needed an entire wall to store all your punches. Thankfully, dies are thin and I’m not afraid to admit, I have a few!
As usual for we have some really great sponsors this week. You have until Friday, March 6th to enter.
Also, a quick reminder that Send a Smile 4 Kids is growing and has added more hospitals and volunteers to take your donated cards. We hope you’ll consider donating some cards for kids in need. Check out how.
Now, let’s get on to those sponsors:
1) Flat Friends – offering 6 digital images of winners choice
2) Paper Shelter – offering 3 digital images of winners choice
3) Sassy Studios – offering 4 digital images of winners choice
My first card uses Flat Friends “Love Heart”. He’s colored with Copic’s and the paper is Carta Bella “Boy oh Boy” collection. The “bubble die” is My Favorite Things and the curved die he’s sitting on is the “curved edge” die from Simon Says Stamp. The love sentiment is Paper Smooches.
The next card features “Soccer Star” from Paper Shelter. He’s colored with copics and the paper is and oldie but a goodie from Deja Views called “Sports”. The circles dies are from My Favorite Things.
My last card features Sassy Studios “Boom Box” who I also colored with copics and used the Amy Tangerine “Plus One” collection. Rectangle die and Sentiment are My Favorite Things.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using your punches and dies.
Sketch Saturday Challenge #348
Happy Saturday friends! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by A Random Fan who is generously offering 3 digis of winners choice. I hope you pop over to their Etsy page as these images are so cute! Get your card in by Friday, February 27th for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
Love this sketch by Deb! The offset paper is such a cool trend these days. For my card I used A Random Fan’s “Swing Into Love” image which I colored with copics. The paper is from Doodlebug called “take note”. The branch with leaves as well as the offset paper are dies from My Favorite Things. The red heart is chipboard and spray painted with Liquitex professional spray in cadmium red medium hue. If you haven’t used these spray paints give them a whirl. They are so vibrant and really cover multiple surfaces in one spray. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp “Sketch Banner Sayings”.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
The House That Stamps Built: Photo Inspiration
It’s the third Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built photo inspiration challenge. With February being the month of love, we’ve continued that theme. You have until Tuesday, February 24th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
Here’s the inspiration chosen by our Rock Stars:
For my card I’ve used the Repeat Impressions sentiment called, “Be Mine 1201-I“. You’ll notice I inked it up separately which changes the look of the stamp. Don’t be afraid to use your stamps however you like. I’ve also used a heart die from Impression Obsession and papers from Club Scrap’s Fizz Collection. I finished the card off with some black splatters of India Ink.

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday: Sketch Challenge #206
It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a new sketch. Today Barb created a hand drawn sketch, which I love. You have until Monday, February 23rd to enter and the design team will be choosing their favorites which will be featured on the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog.
For my inspiration I’ve used the February Simon Says Stamp card kit. The heart die is Impression Obsession found on Simon Says Stamp which was inlayed into the die using the paper from the kit. The other hearts on the card are chipboard colored with pan pastels. The background panels are My Favorite Things rectangle die.
Hope you like this sketch too and join us this week at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday.
