Hello Friends! Today I’m showing off another April release stamp from Technique Junkies. In addition I’d encourage you to come on over to the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog and subscribe so you too can enjoy all the designers inspiration.
Today I’ve made a card using the Technique Junkies April/May 2011 Newsletter called, Blended Blotches. I began by stamping the April Release flower called, “Flourished Floral – #S627” in Archival Black Ink. I then scribbled a few similar colors of Inktense pencils on the background and applied water to move ink. To color the flower, I reversed the process and pulled ink directly from the Inktense Pencils. That way you get really vibrant colors. I finished off my card by adding the Technique Junkies sentiment from, “Things I want to do – #S546″ and splattered some black ink across the card.
I hope you’ve had a chance to check out the new Technique Junkies website. It’s really easy to find what you need now by using the search bar at the top.
Day 15 is one of my favorites…..ZENTANGLING! I have a lot to learn with this technique, but was pleased with the outcome because I cased Christine’s page from class almost exactly. The pages starts with the zentangle design, then colored with Inktense pencils softened with water.
Day 16 is not my favorite. I just couldn’t fix it no matter how I tried. The color is bad and the design isn’t better. The technique is embossing through a stencil. You win some and you lose some.
Day 24 used Inktense Pencils over Dylusions Sprays. Pretty straight forward. The Inktense blend nicely with water so I colored them on dry and wet them to create the flower colors. The journaling prompt was what was a highlight of your day today.
Today I used Inktense pencils to create an Ombre effect by simply laying down the dry pencil in color gradients then adding water. Once it was heats set, I used the Molotow Acrylic Markers to doodle. I’m halfway through the class and am having a blast.
Day 11 was supposed to use Stabilo Pencils, however, I didn’t have those so I used Inktense Pencils instead. Once they are colored on the page, then a wet paint brush activates the bright color. The Journaling prompt was 5 things we accomplished this year. The background is Gelatos mixed with Claudine Hellmuth white paint and softened with a baby wipe.
