Technique Junkies – Amazing Grace in Fall

Hello Junkies!  I’m here today with a Technique Junkies August release stamp called “Amazing Grace”.  As we head into the fall, I pulled out an older stamp to pair this with called, “Vintage Botanical Japanese Maple” and used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays in reds, oranges and yellow after stamping in Sepia archival.

I hope you find some time to get crafty today.  We are all over at the Technique Junkies Facebook Page so if you haven’t stopped by, we’d love to see you!  You can find all the August release stamps here at August Release.

Technique Junkies – Wings N’ Roses

Hey there Junkies!  The Crafty Nurse here today.

Have you seen those great cards and projects featured on the design team hop yesterday? Wow, what a talented bunch!

Today, I’m here to add another taster from the August release called “Never Stop Flying”.  I anticipate this will be a crowd favorite.

My background started using a Tim Holtz rose stencil and embossing paste.  Once that dried, I sprayed Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst in Azure Sea Aster, Open Arms Amythest, and French Lilac Violet. I then applied a layer of foil tape around the edges to frame out the background.

For my focal image, I began with glossy cardstock using the Alcohol Stencil Technique from the Sensational Stencil CD.  I stamped “Never Stop Flying” with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed with clear. I then added additional color to her wings using Zig Clean Clear Brush Markers in Lilac and Cobalt Blue, fussy cut her out and used dimensional tape. Those wispy silver pieces coming from behind her are actually the pieces I cut off the edges of foil tape and I liked they way they curled so added them to her wings.  Let your creativity Fly!!!!

We hope to see you in the Facebook group and shopping using the TJ10Kathy discount code over at the Technique Junkies store!  As part of the August Blog Hop, Pat is offering a 15% discount on all the new August Release stamps.

Good Thoughts Technique Junkies

Hello Junkies!

Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here today with a quick card using “Shine Like Sunbeams #SD691” from the Technique Junkies July release.  The focal image is stamped over a background created by spraying Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays over a Joggles stencil. The colors are Summer Lovin’ Sun and Kissin’ Keneckie Coral.  The background is simply white heat embossed repeatedly using the same focal image.  The scallop and square dies are both My Favorite Things.  Don’t you just love this sentiment?

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Day!

Lindy’s Stamp Gang June Color Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!  I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my project for the June entry.  This month I was inspired by Tamara Laporte via Women Unleashed. Here are the gorgeous colors this month:

June

For my project I used the Beauty School Dropout Magical’s set that includes, Summer Lovin’ Sun, Pink Ladies Pink, T-bird Turquoise, Kissin’ Kenieckie Coral, and Frenchy’s Pink Pouf.   Though you can’t really see it, I did add some Scintillating Silver a glitz spritz.

I started with 140lb watercolor paper and lightly sprayed it with the above colors making sure to dry in between layers.  I did mix my own colors using the Magical’s, which I love to do because it takes up less room than bottles of sprays (though I have two containers of sprays too!). After spraying, I doodled with Posca pens in black and white.  This was inspired by a fabulous teacher, Tamara Laporte so please check her out.

Lindy’s Stamp Gang March Color Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!  I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my page for the March entry.  Here are the gorgeous colors this month:

I’m also entering the card in the Mixed Media Photo Challenge Number 22.

For Lindy’s challenge, I used Lindy’s Starburst Spray in “Baby Blue Eyes Aqua” and Lindy’s Flat Fabio in Plumeria Pink and Luscious Lime.   After spraying and using a straw to move the colors, I stamped the Dina Wakely clear stamp (I got half price at Michael’s last week) in Archival Ink.  I then went a letter crazy and doodled.  I am certainly not a natural doodler but I’m taking a class with JoAnne Sharpe that has really inspired me called “Artfully Inspired Life 2016.”

Lindy’s Stamp Gang Feb 2016 Color Challenge

I was home today after spending more time in the dental chair having my 5th root canal since November so what else do you do when you’re feeling blue, but to create ART!  At least I do. So, today I worked on the February 2016, Lindy’s Stamp Gang Challenge.

02_February_2016__42231.1453916639.1280.1280

I was really inspired by the colors for this challenge and luckily, had them all already in my stash. I used Flat Fabio Spray in, “Lucious Lime” and Flat Fabio Magical “Tears on My Pillow Tangerine” and Starburst Sprays in, Delphinium Turquoise , Jazzy Jivin’ Purple, and Hottie Patottie Hot Pink.

I went clean and geometric for this card but still wanted to add a little bit of the botanical inspiration from the elephant.  To accomplish this, I added the My Favorite Things feathers, which I sprayed with Delphinium Turquoise and Luscious Lime after heat embossing with Repeat Impressions “Tumbling Hearts 1210-K”  in white powder. I then added gold and platinum embossing powders to add sparkle and shine. My flag dies are from My Favorite Things and my sentiment is Wplus9 cut from remaining colored paper.  As a final step I applied colored hearts.

The House That Stamps Built; Designer Choice Challenge

It’s the second Wednesday of January and that means it’s time for a Designers Choice Challenge at The House That Stamp Built!  Today, I’m the host and have chosen the theme of “Winter Wonderland.”  Here in Virginia it’s finally getting cold enough to call it winter.  Moving from New York, it’s nice not to be buried in the snow!

As a reminder, we are offering a $25.00 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store for our random winner.  Don’t forget, if you use a RI stamp, you get an extra entry!

For my “Winter Wonderland”  card, I played with Mega Flakes by Indigo Blu.  I started by stamping Repeat Impressions, “Snowflake Solid, Lg. 8912-I,” “Snowflake Solid, 8914-E”, and “Snowflakes 8805-K” with Flitterglu.   I then applied the flakes and burnished off.  My sentiment, “Let it Snow 2006-H,” is gold heat embossed and edged with gold foil tape.  I finished off the project with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Scintillating Silver Spray.

Winter Wonderland

I look forward to seeing what your “Winter Wonderland” cards look like at The House that Stamps Built.  Happy Wednesday!  I also hope you’ve checked out my Project of the Week from Monday using the Herringbone Technique.

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #115: Winter Fun 4 Kids!

Hey friends, it’s Saturday and time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge.  This is such a great cause that supports hospitalized children by providing them cheerful cards in times of need.  What’s even better news is they are growing and need your support!  If you are wondering where to send all those cards that you make, please consider donating. Here’s a link how.

For our challenge we are highlighting “Winter Fun for Kids”. Our challenges are supported by great sponsors and this week we have:

Lacy Sunshine:  3 images of winners choice

Dollar Graphic Depot:  $15.00 Gift Certificate to Store

One Happy Cut:  $15.00 Gift Certificate to Store

Let’s get to some inspiration.  My first card features Lacy Sunshine’s “Melanie Boo Christmas Caroling” colored with copic markers.  I created a stencil using multiple snowflake dies and sprayed the background with Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays.  I also added Art Anthology Gilded Gold Colorations spray to add sparkle, then ran the panel through an embossing folder to add more interest.  The tag is a mini set by Clearly Besotted.

My second card features Dollar Graphic’s Studio “Freezin’ Season” also colored with Copic Markers.  I made the background the same as the above card and used Clearly Besotted snowflakes and sentiment to complete the card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my inspiration and would love to see you over at Send a Smile 4 Kids!
