Cards in Envy Challenge: “Penny For Your Thoughts”

Happy Monday!  That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week our theme is “Penny For Your Thoughts”.   These are cards feature a thought or speech bubble.

Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope without any large lumps or bumps.  The challenge will run through Sunday, September 3rd and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the Cards in Envy blog.

For my card today I used a Taylored Expressions stamp set called “Party Grumplings”.  I also used the “surprise” stamp from My Favorite Things “Beary Special Birthday”, which I stamped in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Pool.  My design paper is also from My Favorite Things and my grumpling is colored in Copics use YG09, YG07, and YG03. The speech bubble is a stamp and die set also from My Favorite Things.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for your “Penny For Your Thoughts” cards for the Cards in Envy Challenge!

Cards in Envy “Motherly Love” Challenge

It’s Monday and time for another Cards In Envy Challenge.  As we approach Mother’s Day, our challenge will center around “Motherly Love”.  This is a very open invitation to be creative.  The rules are simple for this challenge and require only that your card fit into a A2 standard envelope.

Today, my card was inspired by Therese Calvird who designs for AlteNew.  My card uses the “Oriental Orchid” by AlteNew as well as AlteNew Inks.  The design paper is My Favorite things and the sentiment is Clearly Besotted “Best Mom”.

We look forward to your cards over at the Cards in Envy blog.  Happy card making!!

From The Heart Stamps: Midweek Design Team Inspiration

It’s Wednesday and time for the From The Heart Design Team Highlights.  Today I used “teamwork”, an image from the Faithful Friends collection by From the Heart Digital Images.

I colored the image with Copic Markers and used a square die by My Favorite Things.  The design paper is a very old collection from my stash by DWC.

Hope we see you this week at From the Heart Stamps to participate in the Sketch challenge. Also, don’t forget about the Facebook Group.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Pretty Pastels

Happy Monday!  We here at Cards in Envy hope you are enjoying Spring.  Today we begin a new challenge highlighting “Pretty Pastels”.  What a great way to give some creative license.

As a quick reminder, please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 card without any large lumps or bumps. The challenge will run through Sunday, April 30th.  The design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.

Today, my card features a Technique Junkies Stamp called “Large Poppies” which I stamped in Versamark Ink and white heat embossed over My Favorite Things watercolor design paper.  The “because die” and sentiment are also My Favorite Things.  To create the dimension in the “because”, I die cut it four times and stacked it up, then applied with Matte Medium Gel.  I finished off with Hero Arts hearts.

We can’t wait to see your Pretty Pastel entries over at Cards in Envy this challenge.  If you are interested in purchasing the above stamp, you can use my discount TJ10Kathy at the Technique Junkies Store.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Fantasy & Florals

Happy Monday!  Spring has sprung here at Cards in Envy and we are beginning a new challenge highlighting “Fantasy & Florals.”  Use florals and an element of fantasy such as fairies, elves, or unicorns, etc. Enjoy!

As a quick reminder, please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 card envelope. The challenge will run through Sunday, April 16th.  The design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.

For my card I used a digital image by Aurora Wings called “Poppy Elf”.  She was colored with Copic Markers in R59, R46 and R14 for florals, E000, Eoo, E11, E21, E04 & R20 for her skin and G99 & YG03 for her eyes using the technique I learned in the “Elements of Nature” course at Kit & Clowder.  Alyce is one of the best teachers when it comes to Copic Markers.  My floral element are roses from Clearly Besotted’s “Love Quotes” which I stamped in Hero Arts Shadow Inks.

I can’t wait to see your Fantasy & Floral entries this week over at Cards in Envy!  Happy Spring!!!!

Even better, if you use Repeat Impressions products, there is an extra entry coming your way.  WooHoo!!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch #153

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  I’m here with this weeks sketch challenge at From The Heart Stamps.  These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image – the rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to “fussy cut your image”.  Sketch153

I used only the sketch this week with one of the classic love digi’s called, “True Love” which I colored up with Copic Markers.  The design paper is My Favorite Things as are the circle and flag dies. I finished off with a Hero Arts gem and wink of stella on her veil.

Sketch 153

You have until Sunday, May 29th to enter Sketch #153 at From The Heart Stamps.  Hope to see you there!
