Happy Monday! That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week our theme is “Penny For Your Thoughts”. These are cards feature a thought or speech bubble.
Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope without any large lumps or bumps. The challenge will run through Sunday, September 3rd and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the Cards in Envy blog.
For my card today I used a Taylored Expressions stamp set called “Party Grumplings”. I also used the “surprise” stamp from My Favorite Things “Beary Special Birthday”, which I stamped in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Pool. My design paper is also from My Favorite Things and my grumpling is colored in Copics use YG09, YG07, and YG03. The speech bubble is a stamp and die set also from My Favorite Things.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for your “Penny For Your Thoughts” cards for the Cards in Envy Challenge!
Hello stamping friends. I’m so excited to announce that Repeat Impressions is celebrating the new release of “Flower Power Separates,” a NEW stamp series featuring beautiful floral solid and outline images. Instead of a traditional “blog hop,” The House that Stamps Built blog in collaboration with the Repeat Impressions Rock Stars have made some beautiful samples for your enjoyment beginning Thursday May 4th thru Sunday, May 7th to showcase the new stamps on the blog each day.
All the images are available as wood mount stamps or as plain, unmounted rubber individually. If you prefer, the complete series is available as a plain unmounted sheet of rubber so that you can get ALL 22 stamps in this series at a huge savings.
To enjoy the samples created by the Rock Stars, please visit The House That Stamps Built blog each day beginning Thursday, May 5th thru Sunday, May 8th. Leave your comments to be entered into a drawing to win an unmounted sheet of RI’s Flower Power Separates series. To qualify for this free giveaway your comments must be left no later than 5pm eastern time on Sunday, May 8th. On Monday, May 9th Wendy will announce the winner on Repeat’s Facebook page so be sure to “Like” and follow them there if you don’t already.
Here’s my card using Repeat Impressions Flower Power 10301 and 10307 the large flower and outline, 10306 and 10302, the smaller flower and outline, and 10316 and 10318 the leaf and it’s outline. These flowers are created so they look great either perfectly lined up or a bit wonky. I chose to stamp a bit wonky because I like the white peeking out. If you prefer – you can use a Stamp-a-ma-jig and line them up perfectly. The other Repeat Impressions Stamps used are Postcard 5015-P – makes a great background, and Quartet Compliment Series Plate 8600.
Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here today with a quick card using “Tulips #S662” from the Technique Junkies March release. The background was created using the “Background Whimsy – Copic Method” from the Bodacious Background CD. Instead of outlining the image completely with the white gel pen, I did a more freehand approach giving it more of an artistic feel, which I think works with this gorgeous stamp. My sentiment is Kindness Matters SDX026″.
As we are coming to the end of April, I can’t wait for you to see the May release stamps. Be sure to stop by the May Blog Hop on Sunday, May 1st. This month I am offering a Technique Junkies stamp for a random commenter!
See you then!
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with sketch #149 at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image and the sketch. The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to “Use A Die Cut”.
For my card I used the April Stamp of the Month called “Time to Bloom”. This is such a gorgeous new image and I love the brush sentiments! I colored the images with Copic Markers with the addition of white gel pen for highlights. The paper pack is Lily Bee ‘Head Over Heels” collection and the background text is a My Favorite Things stamp. For my dies, I used the stitched squares, also by My Favorite Things.
Happy Saturday Friends! It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is “For The Boys.” At SAS4Kids, we are so fortunate to have spectacular sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different. I’d also like to mention if you are interested in bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized, we’d love for you to send in some of your cards for the kids; here’s how.
Now let’s get on to those great sponsors:
1) Bugaboo: Prize is 7 images of winners choice
2) Crackerbox Palace Prize is 3 images of winners choice
My card today features the Bugaboo image, “Kid Pocket Topper.'” I colored him with Copic Markers and used the My Minds Eye “Adventure” collection. The flag and circle dies are My Favorite Things and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, “Big Hugs” die. I did some faux stitching with my favorite white pen the Uniball Signo White Gel Pen.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you’ll join us over at Send A Smile 4 Kids to enter “For The Boys” challenge. You have until Friday, April 1st to enter.
It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for a color challenge at The House that Stamps Built. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’ve chosen some traditional colors for the season.
The Challenge is open through Tuesday, February 9th and there is a $25.00 prize for our random winner. You don’t have to use Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you do, an extra entry is waiting for you.
Now let’s get started with the colors we choose this week:
I began by stamping Repeat Impressions “Tumbling Hearts 1210-K” for the background of my card with versamark, then white heat embossed. I die cut a label from My Favorite Things and then stamped “LOVE 1204-I” in black. To jazz it up a bit I then added a pit pen in red around the edges and dotted with the white Uniball Signal White pen. I guess I was in a doodling mood as I added faux stitching and more dots.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with in your color challenge for What If Wednesday at The House that Stamps Built
Happy Friday! I’m thrilled to be posting today for A Day For Daisies new challenge showcasing the Pumpkin Head collection. For our challenge we would love to see some treat items. They can be little boxes, bags, or anything that you can give to someone as a treat. This challenge will run through Thursday, November 5th at Noon.
I couldn’t resist using Pumpkin Head 2 which I colored with Copic’s. The tree is from a Tim Holtz embossing folder and stencil which I fussy cut out. The treat box is an older Fiskars template so it was fun to break out some goodies from my stash I hadn’t see in a while. I love that these challenges push your creativity!
Hope my sweet pumpkin head treat box gives you some inspiration to come join our challenge. Can’t wait to see what you talented creators make!
As usual, Pat has come up with some great new stamps for you and I know you are going to love them. In addition to the stamps, the store is carrying stencils, art anthology colorations, and a variety of new dimensional mediums perfect for those who like to play with ink. As a special treat, Pat is offering 15% off all October Release Stamps for one week! WooHoo!
I’d love for you to stop by all the design team’s blogs for great ideas and samples of other new October Release stamps you can find in the Technique Junkies Store.
My first card uses the technique called, Sprayed Joseph’s Coat recently published in the TJ Inkspirations Newsletter for September 2015. It’s a super technique that produces vibrant contrast when a background stamp such as this new October Release called, “Pom Pom Swag” is used. For my focal image I used, “Incrediball Canning Jar #PS015.”
My second card uses the same “Sprayed Joseph’s Technique” only this time instead of black spray I used Distress Spray in “Tarnished Brass.” I then cut out my image using a My Favorite Things frame die and stamped the card base with “Pom Pom Swag” in Hero Arts Soft Purple ink. My sentiment is from the “Simple Sentiments Set 2, Style b.” This is a great all around sentiment set.
My final card uses the “Bandana Tutorial” from the Simple & Easy Inking CD. I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Wild Honey to create my background. I then lifted up ink through a circle stencil and stamped the sweet “Afternoon Tea #SD644” with Hero Arts black ink. I added the white gel pen highlights with the best white pen in the world by Signo Uniball. I finished off the card with the new sentiment that goes perfectly with this stamp called, “Where there’s tea.”
Now, that I’ve shown you what I have to offer, I don’t want you to miss any of the other design teams creativity so I encourage you to start hopping at the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog.
If you are arriving from Robin Redd’s Blog, you in the right place! Gorgeous project Robin!

Hello Crafty Friends! I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my card for the July entry. For this month I’ve combined the Lindy’s Challenge with Technique Junkies stamps because Pat is offering 15% off all July Release Stamps.
Here are the gorgeous colors this month:
For Lindy’s challenge, I used a combination of Sprays, Magical Mica, and Hot Shot’s. I began by mixing Bonjour Butter Flat Hot Shot with water to create a spray. I did the same with Peony Scarlet Red Magical Mica. I then sprayed the background with the Bonjour Butter, Blue Hawaiian Blue Starburst, and Aloha Avocado Flat Spray. I then splattered the Peony Scarlet Red and Dark Chocolate Truffle Starburst Spray and stamped Technique Junkies “Faint Scratches” in both white and gray.
I then sprayed more Peony Scarlet Red on my craft mat and then “stamped” the Technique Junkies “Here We Go Round in Circles” into the spray and applied to card base. Over that I stamped more circles with Hero Arts Black ink and embellished with Signo Uniball White pen (my favorite). I created the clouds using an My Favorite Things die spraying with Aloha Avocado, Bonjour Butter, and Dark Chocolate Truffle then embossed with a Paper Studio folder and inked with Distress ink in Gathered Twigs.
I then stamped the new July Release stamp from Technique Junkies called, “Life is a Song” and cut out leaves from canvas using WPlus9 die. The entire project was sealed with Collage Pauge in Matte then I took a Faber Castell Pitt pen in brown and edged the dies helping them sink into the card. I finished off by cutting the whole thing out using a Simon Says Stamp stitched die.
Hope you are enjoying the 4th of July and spend quality time with your friends and family!
