Cards in Envy: Pumpkin Challenge
Hello Friends! It’s Monday and time for a Cards in Envy challenge. Our theme this challenge is all about PUMPKINS! You can use a pumpkin on your card, or just use pumpkin colors. Our rules have lightened up a little bit and now your card entries can be any size as long as it still fits into an envelope. You can use a little more dimension too. Our challenge will run through Sunday, November 20, just in time to get those Thanksgiving cards made and in the mail.
For my card today I used a pumpkin stamp that I pulled from my stash that I got years ago in a grab bag so I don’t know the artist. I colored up the image with Copic Markers and added some distress inks. The paper is Carta Bella’s “Autumn” collection and the leaves are from Impression Obsession dies with a bit of Distressed Glitter on the edges. The background is gold heat embossed and I finished off with some Nuvo drops in gold.
Hope you stop by and enter a card this challenge over at Cards in Envy!
From The Heart Stamps: Midweek Design Team Inspiration
It’s Wednesday and time for the From The Heart Design Team Highlights. Today, I used the fabulous freebie called World’s Best by From the Heart Digital Images.
I colored the image with Copic Markers and used a frame die by My Favorite Things. The design paper is Bazzill.
Hope we see you this week at From the Heart Stamps to participate in the Sketch challenge.
From The Heart Stamps Sketch #139
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with this weeks sketch challenge at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image – the rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to “use a number.”
For my card I used only the sketch this week. I began with the February Stamp of the Month “Snowman and Cocoa” which I colored with Copic Markers in the combination of E35, YR15, Y15 and Y11 for the yellow and R59, R46 and R27 for the reds. I just got my sewing machine back and and had some fun with the settings making a great pattern on the lawn fawn paper. I also added some faux stitching and doodling with my pigma micron pen. For a few final touches I added a glitter jelly pen to the snowflakes and used the sentiment from “Hello Sentiments.”
You have until Sunday, February 21st to enter Sketch #139 at From The Heart Stamps. Hope to see you there!
A Day For Daisies: Green Eye’d Monster Showcase
It’s Friday and today at A Day For Daisies we are showcasing the Green Eye’d Monster collection! As a reminder, we are still playing our “Treat Box Challenge” through Thursday November 5th so we hope you’ll join us.
To highlight the Green Eye’d Collection, I made a card using “Monster Chris.” The paper pad is from Bazzill’s Arsenic & Lace. I stamped ink splats in versamark and covered them in clear powder for the background. The sentiment is My Favorite Things and Chris is colored with Copics. It’s hard to see, but the black strip is embossed with triangles and inked. To add some depth to his eyes, I finished off with Black Enamel Accents by Ranger.
We look forward to seeing you at both A Day For Daisies Blog and Facebook Community Page!
Cards in Envy: Creepy Crawlies Challenge
Hello Friends! It’s time for a Cards in Envy challenge and the theme is all about Creepy Crawlies! What a great challenge as we approach the Halloween season.
For the challenge, please have your card easily fit into a standard A2 envelope. Our challenge will run through Sunday, October 18th.
How about some inspiration? Today I chose an image by A Day For Daisies called, “Spider Cupcake.” If you haven’t checked out ADFD store, I encourage you to do so because Tammy’s images are amazing.
I colored the image with Copic Markers and used a Bazzill 6 x 6 paper pack called, “Arsenic & Lace” from last years collection. To make the card even creepier, I stamped some Inkadinkado spiders so the whole card is crawling with creep.
We look forward to seeing what your creepy crawlies look like over at Cards in Envy!
Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #34; Recycle Something
Hello crafty friends, it’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a new Open-Minded Crafting Challenge. This challenge asks you to recycle something. This can be something you’ve used before, have had for a while, or a material that could be recycled. I took a rather different approach to the recycle theme, which you will see in my card. I think you’ll get a chuckle out of it.
As is our custom, we have some wonderful sponsors providing several generous prizes for our randomly chosen winners. The Design Team will also choose their favorite entries and those cards will be showcased on the Open-Minded Crafting Blog. The challenge will remain open until Friday, April 24th, and I look forward to seeing what you want to recycle.
Now let’s see what those prizes are:
Prize: Choose a Digital Stamp Set
Prize: 2 Images of Winners Choice
Prize: $15.00 Gift Certificate
Now, how about some inspiration on what I am recycling? Grandma! LOL I think she’s been around long enough to qualify, don’t you? This adorable image is from Stitchy Bear called, “Birthday Girl.” I colored her with copic markers and used Bazzill’s School Daze 6 x 6 Paper Pack. The oval and flag dies are My Favorite Things and the sentiment is Taylored Expressions “Party Grumplings”.
Sketch Saturday Challenge #348
Happy Valentines Day friends! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who is generously offering a $25.00 Gift Certificate for our random winner. Get your card in by Friday, February 20th for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For Valentines day I thought it appropriate to make a love card. I used the Bazzill paper pack called “Love Story,” which also has a sheet of card panels like the one on the front of my card. Talk about quick and easy!
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
Digital Image on Kraft Paper
I had never considered printing off digital images on kraft paper until I saw the Design Team at A Day For Daisies in their “Kraft & Tag Challenge”. Their challenge is still active for a few days and this isn’t even a Day For Daisies image, but wanted to show you the great examples and what sparked my idea for this Doodle Pantry image “Winter Critters-Tree”. I used natural kraft from My Favorite Things and printed the colored digital image. The rectangle and scallop dies are My Favorite Things, paper is Bazzill’s “Believe” Christmas collection, and sentiment is Clearly Besotted. I finished it off with a little ribbon from Tim Holtz.

Cards in Envy: Pumpkin Challenge
Hello Friends! It’s time for a Cards in Envy challenge and the theme is all about PUMPKINS! Show us your project with at least one pumpkin on it. Entry can be any type of card that fits into a standard A2 envelope. Our challenge will run through Sunday, November 16, just in time to get those Thanksgiving cards made and in the mail.
How about some inspiration? Today I chose an image I found by Marianne Walker. Marianne is a Copic instructor who has some great tutorials. I hope you check her out.
I colored my image with Copic Markers and used a Bazzill 6 x 6 paper pack called Autumn Harvest on a Kraft card base. The sentiment is My Favorite Things as is the Label die. The enamel dots are gold from a Simon Says Stamp card kit. I finished the card off with a little antique linen distress ink. Hope you can find some inspiration and join us at Cards in Envy!
