Happy Monday! Spring has sprung here at Cards in Envy and we are beginning a new challenge highlighting “flowers or fantasy.” That leaves a pretty wide area of interpretation so enjoy!
As a quick reminder, please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 card without any large lumps or bumps. The challenge will run through Sunday, April 17th. The design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.
For my card I used the gorgeous new AlteNew set called Peony Bouquet stamped on the My Favorite Things Tranquil Textures paper. For the ink I used the AlteNew mini cubes in blue. I love these cubes with these multistep stamps as the colors are perfectly gradient. I finished off with the sentiment also by AlteNew and some sequins.
Can’t wait to see your flowers or fantasty entries!
As we get closer to Valentine’s day, here at Cards in Envy we are having a “From The Heart” challenge. Please keep the size of your card to a standard 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch size and able to fit in an A2 envelope. You have until February 14th to enter your card.
For my card, I used the Hero Arts January Card Kit. These were so popular the entire site went down on the day they were released! I placed one of the dies on the card front and cut the fluttering hearts. I then mixed the inks from the kit with perfect pearls and painted in the hearts and flicked splatters. I used one of the sentiments, also from the kit and put on a Steel Grey card base.
I hope you will join us at Cards in Envy this week and show us your “From The Heart cards!
Over at the Ellen Hutson’s Classroom there is a Mix It Up Challenge that calls for a card using products from Ellen Hutson and for January, My Favorite Things. I probably use either a My Favorite Things stamp or die on every project so I just had to participate.
In fact, I just got the new release Tag Builders 5 in the mail today so I was exceptionally happy to play with my new goodies. For the Ellen component, I used the great starburst image in “Merry & Bright” both in the tag and in the background. I created the shaker with the Tag Builders die by MFT and for paper I used MyMinds Eye “Fancy That.” Finally, for the sentiment I used another new release stamp called, “Love You More.”
Today I got off work a little early and wanted to play so I created my December Pin-Sight Challenge for Ellen Hutson’s Classroom. Here is the inspiration:
I used the inspiration from Julie’s past Make it Monday using the Brushstroke Christmas. I also used Mistletoe & Holly stamp and dies stamping them with gold embossing powder and watercoloring with Distress Markers. The background is We R Memory Keepers Basketweave folder cut from My Favorite Things Brushed Gold Metallic paper.
