It’s Monday and time for another Cards In Envy Challenge. As we approach Mother’s Day, our challenge will center around “Motherly Love”. This is a very open invitation to be creative. The rules are simple for this challenge and require only that your card fit into a A2 standard envelope.
Today, my card was inspired by Therese Calvird who designs for AlteNew. My card uses the “Oriental Orchid” by AlteNew as well as AlteNew Inks. The design paper is My Favorite things and the sentiment is Clearly Besotted “Best Mom”.
We look forward to your cards over at the Cards in Envy blog. Happy card making!!
It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for another Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch challenge! Today, our sketch was contributed by Sarah of the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Design Team – Go Sarah! All entries should be posted by Monday, March 9th. As usual, all you have to do is start out with a sketch and add your own special touches.
Here’s our sketch this week:
For my inspiration this week, I’ve chosen a to take a trip to Paris! I used the Tim Holtz stamp and die set called, “French Flight”. I stamped the tower onto paper from Echo Park’s “Getaway” 6 x 6 pack using Hero Arts shadow ink. I used the Lawn Fawn Journaling die as the center focal to hold my image and fussy cut the map element from the paper pack. I finished off the card with some gold enamel dots and distressed ink. Makes me say Oooh La La!
I can’t wait to see what you enter this week!
It’s Monday and time for another Cards In Envy Challenge. As we near Valentines Day, this challenge will be perfect as it’s “Hearts a Flutter”, which calls for at least 2 hearts on your card. The rules are simple for this challenge and simply require that your card fit into a A2 standard envelope.
For some inspiration I chose A Day For Daisies image called, “Cute Fairy Waiting”. Her sweet headband is made from hearts. I colored her with copics and used a Lifestyle Crafts square scallop die. The paper pack is an older one from Lily Bee called, “Head over Heels” and the small tag dies are My Favorite Things tied with waxy thread from Close To My Heart. I finished off with some gems and fluttered away! Come join us!
I’m still working on my January Card kit from Simon Says Stamp. Today I made a card that is based on Retro Sketch #147.
I made this card yesterday, also with the January Simon Says Stamp kit. The label die is My Favorite Things and banners are Simon Says Stamp die.
I also made this card yesterday using Case This Sketch #104
Last, this card is based on The Paper Craft Crew 104. I used the perfect pearls mixed with water for this card then inked the edges to bring out the design.
I’m enjoying another day off and having fun with my stamps and ink. Today I am playing with the Lawn Fawn “Monster Mash” and “Wish You Were Here” stamp set to make a Halloween card. The background is distress ink in Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, and Black Soot. I added some Perfect Pearls mixed with water for the “stars” and the white uniball pen to add spots on the monsters. The wire is stamped with the dot pattern from “Wish You Were Here”. The monsters are colored with Copic Markers and the spider is from the “Halloweenies” Paper Smooches stamp set. The ground is paper from Authentique and I used the curved Simon Says Stamp die and the Paper Smooches stitched curve.
Card made using Technique Junkies Watercolor Tissue Paper technique. Die Cut from Simon Says Stamp and Ribbon Ellen Hutson freebie from my recent order. Thanks Ellen. Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug.
This July Simon Says Card Kit just keeps on giving. I used it today to make a card for Operation Write Home Sketch #233. Thank you cards are always needed. Sentiment stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink using Hero Arts “Type” stamp set.
This card challenge was to use something “faux”, like stitching, brick, or wood. Sandy Allnock provided another technique called Faux Chalk with Copics. You can find the video here. Essentially, you take a stencil, color around the edges with copics and then with a damp cloth of colorless blender fluid, slowing brush the ink from the edges toward the middle and TADA!. Stencil used is from Club Scrap. The paper is lawn fawn, gems are hero arts, and sentiment is WPlus9.
Card 7 for Simon Says Stamp uses the Retro Sketches #121. I added in the sentiment and heart buttons from a Hero Arts stamp set called “Type”. I started the card by splattering Memories Mist in white. The twine is from Lawn Fawn and the dies are from My Favorite Things and Spellbinders.
