Lindy’s Stamp Gang July Color Challenge w/Technique Junkies
Hello Crafty Friends! I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my card for the July entry. For this month I’ve combined the Lindy’s Challenge with Technique Junkies stamps because Pat is offering 15% off all July Release Stamps.
Here are the gorgeous colors this month:
I’m also entering the card in the Mixed Medial Challenge #14 – Summer Days.
For Lindy’s challenge, I used a combination of Sprays, Magical Mica, and Hot Shot’s. I began by mixing Bonjour Butter Flat Hot Shot with water to create a spray. I did the same with Peony Scarlet Red Magical Mica. I then sprayed the background with the Bonjour Butter, Blue Hawaiian Blue Starburst, and Aloha Avocado Flat Spray. I then splattered the Peony Scarlet Red and Dark Chocolate Truffle Starburst Spray and stamped Technique Junkies “Faint Scratches” in both white and gray.
I then sprayed more Peony Scarlet Red on my craft mat and then “stamped” the Technique Junkies “Here We Go Round in Circles” into the spray and applied to card base. Over that I stamped more circles with Hero Arts Black ink and embellished with Signo Uniball White pen (my favorite). I created the clouds using an My Favorite Things die spraying with Aloha Avocado, Bonjour Butter, and Dark Chocolate Truffle then embossed with a Paper Studio folder and inked with Distress ink in Gathered Twigs.
I then stamped the new July Release stamp from Technique Junkies called, “Life is a Song” and cut out leaves from canvas using WPlus9 die. The entire project was sealed with Collage Pauge in Matte then I took a Faber Castell Pitt pen in brown and edged the dies helping them sink into the card. I finished off by cutting the whole thing out using a Simon Says Stamp stitched die.
Hope you are enjoying the 4th of July and spend quality time with your friends and family!

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #40 – Photo Inspiration
Happy 4th of July to those in America! It’s time for a new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting. Today we are doing a photo inspiration challenge. What is great about this type of challenge is the artistic freedom left open to you and your interpretation of the photo. I sure hope you’ll join us because this is the second to the last challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Challenges blog.
Here is our photo:
Again, we have some really fantastic sponsors who are offering very generous prizes. All you need to do is enter a card, or three for a chance to win. The last day to enter for this challenge is July 17th. Here is a list of the sponsors and their prizes:
Winning Prize: 7 Digital Images
Winning Prize: 5 Digital Images
Winning Prize: 3 Digital Images
My design team inspiration today features a Kenny K image called, “Da Bomb”. She looks like she may be up to a little trouble, but was sure fun to color as so many of KennyK’s images are. I used Copic Markers and fussy cut her out, making sure to use a black permanent marker on the edges to give that extra detail. I pulled out the orange in the photo as well as the flowers for my inspiration.
The background is stamped with Paper Smooches “I Heart Art” splats and then stenciled with a mesh using distress ink. I then used a brick embossing folder to give that “wall” type feeling. She is standing on a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle and to complete the card I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches and added watercolor flowers and sequins.
I hope you stop by Open-Minded Crafting Challenge, to check out all the other design team inspiration and enter our nearly final challenge.
Sketch Saturday Challenge #368
Happy 4th of July to those in America! It’s a perfect day to celebrate with a new Sketch Saturday challenge. We are sponsored by Bugaboo who is offering the randomly chosen winner 7 images from their site! How generous! You have until Friday, July 10th for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose Sping Elephant 2″, which I colored with Copic Markers and used the Fancy Pants “Memories Captured” 6×6 paper pack. I fussy cut the clouds and popped them up with foam tape. I loved the geometric lines on this card design and backed all the paper with black card stock to help it pop.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
