A Day For Daisies: Designers Showcase – Newsprint Challenge

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have been accepted as a new design team member for A Day For Daisies.  I know, pinch me! As you all know I adore ADFD digital images, use them often, and look forward to each new release.

For this post, the Design Team has chosen a favorite A Day For Daisies image to use for The Newsprint Challenge which runs through Thursday, July 30th at Noon.  You may enter one card using an A Day For Daisies image, which Tammy generously provides free for each challenge.  Chosen winners receive four (4) free images and have their card featured on the ADFD Blog.

For the “Newsprint Challenge” I used the “New Hat” image.  She was a pleasure to color with Copic Markers.  The background started with newsprint paper which was stamped with Hero Arts stamp “Flower Dot Pattern” and heat embossed using clear powder.  I then applied color with blue and green Distress Inks.  I dyed Tim Holtz ribbon using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Spray and put a piece of Club Scrap Fiber over that. The flowers are from my stash with My Minds Eye brads.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things “Summer Vacation” and the blue and green recollection gems across her hat complete her look.

Brown Sugar Challenge #155

I’m thrilled to announce that I have been accepted as a new Design Team member for Brown Sugar Challenges!  Brown Sugar Challenges is a very busy weekly challenge blog supported by great sponsors and fabulous prizes.

For my first challenge, the theme is “Girly,” sponsored by Sassy Studios Design.  Today I’m using a “Snow Queen Sassy” to showcase my “Girly” card.  The sheerness of her clothing reminded me of an etherial angel so I put her in the clouds.  She is colored with Copic Markers and the background is created with Pan Pastel chalks and a cloud stencil.  The edges are a band of Washi Tape by Little B and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamp “Forever & Always” embossed with clear powder over Versafine ink.

I can’t wait to see what your Girly Card looks like this week and hope you’ll join us at Brown Sugar Challenges for a chance to win some great prizes!
