Technique Junkies – Rainbow Ladies

Hello Junkie Friends.  I’m here today with a quick card using one of the March Technique Junkie release stamps, “We Pour #SD755.”

Rainbows are so inspiring to me and I used a new set of water-based markers I got on the “cheap” by Mozart. The entire set of 20 markers was under $25 bucks. They are like the Zig Clean Clear Markers and less expensive. The technique used on this card is called, Stencil Spray from the Sensational Stencil CD.

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven’t checked out the March release yet, come on over to the Technique Junkies site.  The sale offering 15% off all March stamps is ending in a few days!

Technique Junkies January Blog Hop!

We are ringing in the New Year with a Blog Hop for the January Technique Junkies  new release.  The fabulous Technique Junkie Design Team  will provide an amazing  selection of inspiration for your enjoyment.

Pat is again offering 15% off all January Release Stamps for one week!  In addition to new stamps, Technique Junkies has great art supplies like stencils, art anthology colorations, velvets, and sorbets – which are fabulous dimensional mediums that can be used in such fun ways.

My first card uses some of those Art Anthology mediums in Red Velvet, Mi Bella and Cotton Candy for the background.  The featured stamp called “Love You #SD725” is perfect for ATC backgrounds, but I’ve used it as a focal image.  After white heat embossing “Love You, I applied the three mediums blending each to create a gradient. Behind the focal image is another new release called “Love Script #S697”, which I stamped in a pale shade of blue.  The frame is a My Favorite Things Die that I covered with “Art Anthology Black Leather” paint, which has a glorious shimmer adding that extra pizazz to your card.  I finished off the card with the Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory Seashell.  These are super quick drying and self-leveling creating perfect pearl shapes.

My second card uses the “Kraft Resist Technique from the Bodacious Backgrounds CD” with Vintage Photo Distress Inks to make the “Messy Love #S744” stamp stand out.  I cut the Messy Love  panel using a heart die to expose another January stamp called, “Love Script S697”.  In the process of making this card I was really inspired by the theme of love and community so using the people die from My Favorite Things I created two stacks of people holding hands in solidarity. I don’t think this die is being sold anymore, but I really loved how it paired with the TJ January release stamps.

january2017-1

My next card features the gorgeously delicate new stamp called, “Being Yours #SD727.”  For the background I began with a Stencil Girl stencil using “Gessoed Stencil Technique from the Sensational Stencil CD” .  The color is Picked Raspberry Distress Ink applied in an ombre fashion.  The focal image “Being Yours” was embossed using silver sparkle powder.  I cut think strips of silver glitter paper to frame the vellum and finished with sequins and stickles.

My final project uses the “By Us #SD700” with the technique “Whitewash Chic from the Artistic Effects CD“. I colored the image with distress markers and a fine tipped water brush.  The frame was created by another My Favorite Things half circle die that was popped up for extra dimension. I cut away the sentiment so I could use it as a sentiment.

Technique Junkies Shine

Hello Junkie Friends.  I’m here today with a quick card using one of the July Technique Junkie release stamps, “Shine Like Sunbeams #SD691.

The technique is a simple one from the Sensational Stencils CD called Misted Stencil though I used a homemade stencil cut from sunburst die. For my spray, I used a sandcastle and timeless Art Anthology Colorations then cut out the card base from a My Favorite Things oval die, also making a frame.

Technique Junkies July Blog Hop!

Happy July 1st fellow Junkies!  With summer here, the Technique Junkie Design Team is celebrating with a blog hop showcasing the new Technique Junkies stamps for July.  In addition to some fabulous stamps, there are stencils, art anthology colorations, and a variety of dimensional mediums perfect for those who like to play with ink.  As is her custom, Pat is offering 15% off all July Release Stamps for one week!  WooHoo!

I’d love for you to stop by all the design team’s blogs listed below for great ideas on how to use those new July Release stamps found in the Technique Junkies Store.

I wanted to start the hop off with a patriotic flare using a combination of new and existing Technique Junkies stamps.  The background was built using “Patriot Fragments”, a fabulous set that can be used all together for a background like I have done, or individually as elements on your projects.  The technique is the Big Bold Blending Tutorial from the Bodacious Backgrounds CD using Candy Apple Red and Faded Jeans Distress Inks.  To build the focal image, I started with the Tim Holtz stars stencil using the Gelato Wipe technique (but with distress ink) from Sensational Stencils CD.   I then stamped the new “Dream Big SD697” from the July release and went over that with a black gel pen to add pop.

July1

My second card features the new “Mermaid Love #S698” which I stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored up with Copic Markers.  To create the sun rays I used the basic “Grunged Stencil Technique from the Sensational Stencils CD” with the Tim Holtz Ray’s stencil and Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed inks. The sentiment is another new July stamps called, “Better At The Lake Set of 5 – SS057”.  I finished off the white water with Copic White Paint applied with a stipple brush, a great way to add texture and “splash” to water.

July6

My next card  uses the “Colorwash Alcohol Tutorial from the August/September 2012 Technique Junkies Newsletter.  I love the depth and variety of color in this technique and the way it sets off the boats in the new “Rowboats #712” stamp.  The sentiment is from a previous release called,  “Winds of Change SD621” .

July5

My last card uses some copper Washi Tape for the background.  For more ideas using Washi tape, check out “Washi Tape & Ribbons CD.  My focal stamps is “Rescue Love SD689” that I stamped with Tombow Markers in several colors, then painted Art Anthology Dimensional paint in Vegas Gold, Kenyan Copper, and Desire.  The background is one of my favorite TJ Stamps “Faint Scratches #S518” stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Technique Junkies June Blog Hop!

Are you ready for some great summer images showcasing the new Technique Junkies June release? Pat has some great summer images which are all on sale for 15% off through June 8th, so shop while the getting is good.  Don’t forget to check out all the cool stencils, art anthology colorations, and dimensional mediums perfect for those who like to play with ink.

I’d love for you to stop by all the design team’s blogs for great ideas and samples of other new June Release stamps  you can find in the Technique Junkies Store.

My first card uses the technique called, Metallic Pop from the Emboss or Die CD.  I started by spraying Avocado and Siesta Key’s Art Anthology Colorations.  I then embossed with the “Bubble” embossing folder by Tim Holtz/Sizzix and applied “Platinum Metallic Rub” over the raised areas.  The featured sentiment is one of the gorgeous June releases called, “Learn to Surf #SD681” which I embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum powder to match the metallic rub.  I also used the “Wisped Frames” technique on the sentiment, which is also from “Emboss or Die” CD.

June3

My second card features the “Bold Shells #SD681” stamp over the “Distressed Stain Dip” technique from the “Artistic Effects” CD.  I stamped it twice using the Misti with Hero Arts Intense Black ink so it turned out very vibrant.  The sentiment is another June release called, “Beachin’ It SDX074”.

June5

My next card uses a version of the “Doubly Irresistible Tutorial” from the Simple & Easy Inking CD. I changed up the ink and instead of pigment inks and Copics, I used Art Anthology Colorations in Sandcastle and Timeless with black Irresistible Spray.  The focal stamp is the new “Beautiful Conch S667” which I heat embossed with Stampendous Bronze Enamels.  The sentiment is from “By The Sea #SS060 Set of 6″ and heat embossed with gold.

June6

For my final card I began with the Sandcastle and Siesta Keys Art Anthology Colorations using the Stencil Spray Fun in the Sensational Stencils CD. I then applied distress inks in Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, and Vintage Photo and spritzed water to get spatters.  The sentiment is from the “By The Sea Set of 6 #SS060.”

My first card uses two techniques from the “Artistic Effects CD. The background is the “Distress Stain Dip” technique and the focal image featuring “Stylized Roses SD666” uses the “Gelato’s Direct” technique.  I also did some additional stamping on the focal image using “French Text #S246”.  I absolutely love the spring feel of this gorgeous stamp.

April1

My second card features the April release “Elegant Mums S658” using the “Embossed Gelatos Technique from the Artistic Effects CD”.  For the sentiment, I used “With Sympathy #SS049”

April3

My next card features the cuddly new stamp called, “Bear With Flowers MC005” which I colored with Zig Clean Clear Brush Markers.  I created the texture using the “Ghostly Spatters Technique from the Artistic Effects CD.”  I love the playfulness of this new stamp.

My first card uses the “Distressed Stain Dip” from the Simple & Easy Inking CD for the background.  The stains used were Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed. The focal image is “Happy Valentines Day #SD651” which I embossed in white and fussy cut.  I created a small shaker and used a Simon Says Stamp stitched die for the background panel.

January3

My second card uses the ““Stained Embossing Technique from the Simple & Easy Inking Techniques CD” using Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass and put through the We R Memory Keepers embossing folder. For my focal image I used “Marilyn SD #655” which I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers and added “Vegas Gold Sorbet” for her hair.  My sentiment is “Better Things SDX063” white heat embossed.

Technique Junkies Design Team Post: Let’s Face It

Hey Junkies!

I’m back with you today with a little more inspiration from Pat’s August release. I had so much fun during our blog hop this past weekend today I’m featuring another card using “Let’s Face It 5” from the Palettini Collection.

The background started with Distress Paint in Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade.  Once that dried I applied black paint through a Heidi Swapp Stencil using the “Stencil Turn” Technique on the Sensational Stencil CD.

For my image I stamped “Let’s Face It 5 #P030” on book paper using Adirondack Espresso Ink. Her face is colored with Liquitex Fluid Ink in Burnt Sienna diluted with water, the lips are Twinkling H20’s in Hopeful Honeysuckle, and the Eyes are FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic in Genesis Green. Okay, Okay – yes, I have a lot of inks…..

For her headpiece, I stamped it on Amy Tangerine’s Rise & Shine paper and clear embossed.  I fussy cut the head piece and applied it back onto the image.  Once everything was dry, I applied Tim Holtzs’ “Distress Glaze” because all my mediums were water based and I didn’t want it to run when I applied the Gel Medium.

Once the gel medium dried, I created depth by applying a Pitt Artist Pen in Brown around her head piece.  This is a great way to complete your paper piecing so it doesn’t look disconnected or out of place.  To finish, I colored the flowers with more FW Pearlescent Paint in Waterfall Green and called her done!

I thrilled you stopped by today and encourage you to subscribe to the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog  for tons of inspiration.

I also want to remind you there is still a few days left to take advantage of the 15% off all new August Stamps at the Technique Junkies store.

TJ May Release “What Cancer Cannot Do”

Happy Wednesday Junkies!  The Crafty Nurse here bringing you a post featuring Technique Junkies May Release.

For today’s project I’ve highlighted “What Cancer Cannot Do #SD607.”  The background technique is called, “Stenciled Spray Fun” from the Sensational Stencils CD.  I used Dylusions Ink to get that vibrant pink and purple combination.

I wanted to highlight the stamp so I inlayed the panel using Lawn Fawn’s rectangle dies making it one flush panel.  To do this, simply cut out a few sizes of the rectangle die and piece them back together like a puzzle.

I finished off the card with a few flower dies from WPlus9 and added small pearls for the centers.

Thanks for stopping by the Design Team Blog today and I look forward to seeing you at the Technique Junkies store for lots more of the May Stamp Release.

By for now,
