Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Hop
Hope you aren’t sick of my posts today – but it’s busy here at the Crafty Nurse’s Blog! Today I’m sharing the watercolor card I made for the Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop entry. There are so many beautiful watercolor entries it’s worth checking out.
This is very similar to the previous gnome watercolor but he’s so stinkin’ cute I couldn’t resist. I used the new Zig Clean Color Real Brush for the image and my Hobby Lobby watercolor set for the background. I wanted a little more color and movement on this card which I think I got. The sentiment is from Happy & Smile from Simon Says Stamp.

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #103; For The Girls
Happy Weekend! It’s time for the new challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids and this time it’s, “For The Girls!” We have some really great sponsors offering prizes to our winners. You have until Friday, June 19th to enter.
I also wanted to remind you that Send a Smile 4 Kids needs your cards for hospitalized kids. With Operation Write Home closing on August 1st, I sure hope you will consider sending your donated cards to Send a Smile 4 Kids. Here’s how to donate.
Here’s our sponsors:
1) Flat Friends – offering 6 Digital Images of Winners Choice
2) The Paper Shelter – offering 3 Digital Images of Winners Choice
3) Bugaboo – offering a 7 Digital Images of Winners Choice
Now how about some inspiration? My first card uses Flat Friends “Summer Swim.” I colored the image with Copic Markers and used Echo Parks “Walking on Sunshine” 6 x 6 collection. The fish and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn’s “Critters of the Sea.” The dies are My Favorite Things Ovals and Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangles. For the waves I broke out my old EK Success wave punch. I really need to get a wave die.
My next card is from The Paper Shelter called, “Sophie in the Country.” I colored Sophie with Copic Markers and cut her out with a Sizzix keyhole die. The paper pack is from Amy Tangerine’s “Rise & Shine” collection. I stamped an Impressions Obsessions distressed background with Hero Arts Shadow Ink. The sentiment and label is from Simon Says Stamp and the card is finished with a few enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by and we sure hope you’ll come on over to Send a Smile 4 Kids an play along!

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #38: Doodle
It’s Saturday friends and that means it’s time for a new Open-Minded Crafting Challenge. This challenge focuses on Doodling! How fun is that? Please use your imagination and doodle away. It’s all about having fun! Put doodling in your sentiment, on your image, or in your background. Anywhere you want!
As usual our sponsors have some great prizes for our randomly chosen winners. The Design Team will also choose their favorite entries and those cards will be showcased on the Open-Minded Crafting Blog. The challenge will remain open until Friday, June 19th, and I can’t wait to see what your doodling looks like.
Now let’s see what those prizes are:
Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice
Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice
Prize: 7 Images of Winners Choice
Prize: 3 Images of Winners Choice
For my card I chose a Gerda Doodles image called, “Dog on Scooter.” I colored him with Copic Markers and for my doodling, used a Copic Multiliner to jazz up his scooter. I am no zentangler, but I gave it a go and had fun. I just love the pure joy this little pup has with the wind on his back and his destiny in front. I thought this My Favorite Things sentiment from “Right on Target” fit perfectly. The paper is from Echo Park “Getaway” and I used a Simon Says Stamp rectangle stitched die for my background.
Sketch Saturday Challenge #364

Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose Sami’s gorgeous “Wild Flower Beauty” and colored her with Copic Markers. The design paper is one of my favorites from Simple Stories called, “Vintage Bliss.” The flag and square dies are My Favorite Things and the Flower dies are WPlus9. I finished off the card with a few gems and a sentiment from My Minds Eye “Fancy That” embellishment pack.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch!
