For my card this week, I was inspired by a card design that I came across on Pinterest using die cuts in a chevron pattern.  The die I used is “Sunny Studios” Fishtail Banner Dies, which comes with four (4) different fishtail/chevron patterns.  I will be featuring “how to” do this technique on my next “project of the week” on June 13th, so stay tuned.

For my sentiment, I chose to use the Repeat Impressions stamp, “Happy Birthday 1113-D and Make A Wish 4034-F ” which I stamped in Versafine Black Onyx Ink.

Now, for some inspiration.  Today I’ve used a Saturated Canary image called “First Snow.” You can get more images like this at Bunny Zoe Crafts.  I colored this cutie with Copic markers and used Our Daily Bread 6 x 6 design paper.  My snowflakes are from a Close To My Heart set which I heat embossed in silver.

For my card this week, I chose to use the Repeat Impressions stamp, “Deer Family Silhouette 4221-K .”  I stamped the family in Hero Arts Navy Shadow Ink and masked off a oval to create the background in Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  I then stamped “Random Snow 3410-C, and “Snowflake Outline 8916-E” in white pigment ink and then applied glitter over the entire image.  To finish, I added some gems in multiple shapes.

Love this sketch by Vanessa – so whimsical and perfect for the KennyK Style!  For my card I used “Girl Fish,” which I colored with copics.  The background paper was embossed using Tim Holtz’s bubble folder and the circles were cut using My Favorite Things dies.  I finished off by embellishing Cloud 9’s Rain Splats along with gems and pearls from my stash.

Send a Smile 4 Kids: Bright Colors 4 Kids

Happy Saturday!  That means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge and we are celebrating Bright Colors 4 Kids!  You have until Friday, July 24th to enter your card. We are always so grateful to our wonderful sponsors who support us by offering such great prizes.

Those sponsors are:

1) Stitchy Bear – offering $10 dollar gift certificate to store.

2) The Cutting Cafe– offering 3 digital images or cut files of winners choice.

3) Sassy Studios – offering 4 digital images of winners choice.

My first card uses Stitchy Bears Cartoon Boy Riding on Skateboard” digital image which I colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is also Stitchy Bear from “Tammy Tween” digital image. I colored the edges with distress ink while the spellbinders die was still in place creating that great white border. The background is an embossing folder by Darice and a great price at Hobby Lobby.  The stars across the card are from Simon Says Stamp “Hey Dude.”

The next card features a super fun project from The Cutting Cafe called,  “Sail Boat Shaped Card Set”.  This project can be done without a specialized cutting machine by simply printing the PDF file from a standard printer, which I’ve done.  The pattern paper is from Our Daily Bread.  To create the layers behind the pattern paper, I used the same pattern then trimmed a little off each side to fit.  To ensure both sides were even, I cut both right and left pattern papers at the same time.  I distressed the edges of the card stock with Distress Ink and colored wood veneer stars using my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  The sentiment was cut using standard circle dies from My Favorite Things.

My Favorite Things Sketch #214

Happy Sunday Friends.  Today, I’ve chosen to work on sketch #214 from My Favorite Things.  The image is “Birthday Princess” I bought on the cheap from the last MFT sale.  I colored her with copics and paper pieced her with the February Simon Says Stamp kit, which I also used for the design papers on the card.  The circle die is MFT also.
