Make it Monday – Papertrey Ink

As you all know I love learning new techniques.  I found this great tutorial on Nicole Heady’s blog for Make it Monday’s project this week and I definitely wanted to share it.   It calls for using cover plate dies in a different way.  Her recommendation was to offset the same die to create a shadow.  Instead of doing that, I took the Center State Die cover plate and turned it upside down.  I used Basic Grey’s “What’s Up” 6 x 6 pack and selected one solid and one with a design.  The sentiment is “lots of love” from Paper Smooches cut on a Simon Says Stamp flag die.  I colored it with copic markers in R05, R24 and R27, then covered it with wink of stella and ended it with diamond glaze from Judikins.

I like the way it came out – what do you think?

Online Card Classes Background Techniques

I’ve made several cards using many of the different Techniques in class last week.  The first four were created using a “homemade” ink pad and the last using with distress ink.

Cards in Envy “Hearts a Flutter” Challenge

It’s Monday and time for another Cards In Envy Challenge.  As we near Valentines Day, this challenge will be perfect as it’s “Hearts a Flutter”, which calls for at least 2 hearts on your card.  The rules are simple for this challenge and simply require that your card fit into a A2 standard envelope.

For some inspiration I chose A Day For Daisies image called, “Cute Fairy Waiting”.   Her sweet headband is made from hearts.  I colored her with copics and used a Lifestyle Crafts square scallop die.  The paper pack is an older one from Lily Bee called, “Head over Heels” and the small tag dies are My Favorite Things tied with waxy thread from Close To My Heart.  I finished off with some gems and fluttered away!  Come join us!
