Happy Monday! That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week we are celebrating the good old “Red, White & Blue”! Your card does not have to be patriotic, just needs to use those colors.
Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope. The challenge will run through Sunday, July 16th and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.
My card design was based off one from a favorite artist, Sandy Allnock. She is inspirational and has some great card making tutorials, especially if you like coloring.
I look forward to seeing your Red, White & Blue cards this week! I wish all a safe and relaxing 4th of July filled with friends, family and fireworks!
As many of you know, A Day For Daisies has some of the most GORGEOUS digital images out there. I was over the moon thrilled to be asked to participate in a special surprise blog hop dedicated to Tammy, the creator of A Day For Daisies images. The current and some of the past Design Team members want to show our gratitude and thank Tammy for the blessings and joys we have received as members of the A Day For Daisies Design Team.
Our hop theme is “A Collection of ADFD Favorites.” Each DT member will feature her favorite ADFD image. The hop has hidden prizes so don’t forget to comment beginning today until 9:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Tuesday, February 27, 2017.
We also want your participation! Enter a card over at the A Day For Daisies Challenge Blog using an ADFD image. You have until Friday, March 3rd to enter your cards.
For my favorite image, I’ve chosen “Doll Face 5”. I’ve colored her up using my favorite Copic Markers. The skin is done in Eooo, Eoo, E21, E11, E04 & R20. The hair is E55, E53, E51 & E50 with added color pencil work. Her luscious lips are R89, R35 and R14 and her eyes are B04 & B12. That glorious background is a super technique I learned from Jennifer Dove which uses 91% alcohol and copic markers applied off a palette in B29 & B25. I then texturized with burlap and more alcohol for a great background. My sentiment is Wplus 9’s Hand Lettered Hello and my frame is the new Hero Arts Infinity Postage Stamp die.
Here is the original card I posted several years ago using this image.
All prize winners will be announced on the ADFD Blog on Saturday, March 4, 2017. We hope you will join our celebration of the thousands of images Tammy has created. Rules for the challenge are posted on the right sidebar of the ADFD Blog! Are you ready to HOP?!?
It’s the second Wednesday of August which means it’s time for a Designers Choice Challenge at The House That Stamp Built! Today, it is my turn to host our challenge and I’ve chosen “Circle Cards”.
For my “Circle” card I stamped the Repeat Impressions “Vase of Tulips” on Watercolor Paper and colored with watercolors. I created a circle card by placing my circle die just outside the top fold using a Sizzix die. I added the sentiment from “Plate 8600″, which has some great sentiments. I finished off with recollections gems.
I look forward to your entries for the “Circle Card” challenge this week over at The House that Stamps Built. Happy Wednesday!
Happy Monday! We are celebrating “No Girls Allowed” for the Cards in Envy challenge this week. That means we’d love to see cards that showcase boys, men or masculine cards. Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 size envelope without any large lumps or bumps, but doesn’t have to be an actual A2 card anymore.
The challenge will run through Sunday, June 19th. Our design team will also be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.
My card features a “Mo Manning’s Bubbles Boy” digi, which I colored up using Copic Markers. I learned a cool new way to color bubbles from the Copic Website. Check out my Pinterest to see how. The papers are from an older Lawn Fawn 6 x 6 pack as is the Journaling Die. The outside frame is a Simon Says Stamp die and the tab is My Favorite Things Die.
I’m excited to see over at Cards in Envy for your “No Girls Allowed” inspiration looks like for you!
Happy Saturday! Today Send a Smile 4 Kids begins a new Anything Goes Challenge! We have some great prizes from our generous sponsors for our randomly chosen winner. The design team will also be choosing their favorites and those cards will be featured on the Send a Smile 4 Kids blog. You have until Friday, June 17th to enter
Our sponsors are:

2) Dies R Us: $15.00 Gift Certificate to the Dies R Us Store
Now, how about a little inspiration to get you going?
My first card uses Sami Stamps, “Slippery Umbrella,” which I colored in Copics. I used a really cool technique with distress inks that you can find in my previous post here. I also created the background using an eye dropper filled with 91% alcohol after coloring with some gray copics to get that drippy/raining effect. The dies are from My Favorite Things and my sentiment is Newton’s Nook “beautiful wings”.
I sure hope you will join us at Send a Smile 4 Kids this challenge for a chance to win some great prizes in our Anything Goes Challenge!
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with Sketch #154 at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image. The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is “Show Off Your Coloring”.
For my card today I used image, “Harriet PigWit Mud Bath”, one of the fun new PigWit digis. I colored her up with watercolors and used a Impressions Impressions background stamp. The flag die is My Favorite Things.
I hope you’ll join us for the sketch this week at From The Heart Stamps for sketch #154!
It’s the fourth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built sketch challenge. You have until Tuesday, March 29th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
Here’s the Sketch:
For my card today I stamped Repeat Impressions “Shamrock Silhouette 5119-I” with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Stampendous “Aged Green Enamel.” I then used a stencil to create a background with distress inks and stamped the Repeat Impressions sentiment “Happy Spring 1301-F.”
I hope you’ll join us at The House That Stamps Built, for this sketch challenge because you could be our next winner!
Oh, and don’t forget to get your discount code from my blogs sidebar when you shop at Repeat Impressions Stamps.
It’s the third Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built photo inspiration challenge. For March we have a colorful kitty.
As with all our challenges, let the photo be your guide and use your creativity to inspire you. You have until Tuesday, March 22nd to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions. If you use a Repeat Impressions stamp, you’ll get an extra entry!
Here’s the inspiration chosen by our Rock Stars:
For my card, I used Repeat Impressions stamp “Spring Chick 1311-J” which I stamped with Archival Jet Black Ink to avoid smearing when watercoloring. My colors are Tombow Markers, my newest toy. The sweet sentiment is, “Happy Easter/Spring 3909-F”. For texture, I used a basket We R Memory Keepers folder and finished off with a few gems.
It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for a color challenge at The House that Stamps Built.
The Challenge is open through Tuesday, March 8th and there is a $25.00 prize for our random winner. You don’t have to use Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you do, an extra entry is waiting for you.
Now let’s get started with the colors we choose this week:
I began by stamping my card base with Versamark Ink using the “You Cling Set” to create a subtle background. For my focal image, I used “Cool Treats 9008-N” which I stamped on colored card stock for the ice cream and kraft card stock for the base. To add the “sprinkles” I used “Random Dots 3404-C”, which is a great stamp that can be used so many different ways like dirt, snow, sprinkles, etc. The frame was created using a My Favorite Things die that was embossed with a We R Memory Keepers folder. For my sentiment “Chill Out 9103-D” was a perfect choice.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with in your color challenge for What If Wednesday at The House that Stamps Built
It’s the third Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built photo inspiration challenge. For February, the design team chose a love themed scene. As with all our challenges, let the photo be your guide and please use your imagination. For example, just pick out a color, a shape, or even use just one element that you are attracted to. It’s all about creativity and fun.
Here’s the inspiration chosen by our Rock Stars:
When I looked at the picture I knew that I had to use watercolors as a starting point to create the feel of the photo. I continued to add layers until I got the depth I was looking for. For the trees, I used Repeat Impressions “Lg Pine Tree 2719-K” stamped in archival ink in case I wanted to add more color, which I did. The sentiment is from the “Hello Cling” and captures to scene for me. I finished off with a few recollections gems.
