Mixed Media Monthly Challenge; Time Flies & Class Work
Hello friends. Between the fabulous Creative Jump Start and the amazing Wanderlust 2016 courses I’m taking I’ve been having a great time playing with paint and ink. Today I made an several projects.
My first is an entry for the Mixed Media Challenge for Time Flies.
My page began with Dylusion’s Paints in Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, and Vibrant Turquoise applied with the blending tool. I added some Tim Holtz Stencils, a few Close to My Heart Stamps, and marks with a cap and a credit card. It’s a really basic page but just trying out some of the techniques I’m learning.
My next project was inspired by Andrea Gomoll from the Creative Jumpstart Course on Frida Kahlo. It was done with watercolors. Frida painted a lot of vibrant colors and self portraits and the flowers are supposed to mimic a hat.
My next project is a cover page for the beginning of a journal as taught in Wanderlust 2016. This is an entire year of classes taught by multiple teachers and I’m already have a blast. I didn’t have the tools that were used in class so I’m not as happy with it as I thought, but again, I’m learning so hopefully will get better. I was excited to learn more about collage, balance, and placement.

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #117 – Birthday Fun!
Happy Saturday Friends! It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is Birthday Fun.
At SAS4Kids, we are so fortunate to have spectacular sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different. I’d also like to mention if you are interested in bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized, we’d love for you to send in some of your cards for the kids; here’s how.
Now let’s get on to those great sponsors:
1) All Dressed Up Prize is 2 images of winners choice
2) Bugaboo: Prize is 7 images of winners choice
My card today features the All Dressed Up image, “Birthday Monkey.'” I colored him with Copic Markers and created a background die with the same marker colors. That’s a great way to make sure you paper matches your coloring.
I also added some My Favorite Things Balloons that I popped up with foam tape, added a Paper Smooches bow tie die, and finished off with some Lawn Fawn design paper.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I can’t wait to see your Birthday Fun cards!

Now, for some inspiration. Today I’ve used a Saturated Canary image called “First Snow.” You can get more images like this at Bunny Zoe Crafts. I colored this cutie with Copic markers and used Our Daily Bread 6 x 6 design paper. My snowflakes are from a Close To My Heart set which I heat embossed in silver.
I can’t wait to see what you create!
