Cards in Envy Challenge: Typography

Happy Monday!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge.  This week our theme is “Typography.” These are cards using letters, words, or sentiments as your focal image.

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.

For today’s card, I used Ellen Hutson’s “Holly Jolly” stamp set for my “typography” element. The design paper is Fancy Pants “Wish Season” by Kim Watson. I stamped the snow bursts in Simon Say Stamp white pigment ink and topped them with Nuvo Crystal Drops.  My flag dies are My Favorite Things and I finished off the card with some black Distress Ink.

Hope we’ll see your “Typography” cards over at the Cards in Envy challenge.  You have until November 19th to enter.

The Crafty Nurse here to celebrate the holidays and share a special thank you to all of our extremely generous 2016 sponsors.

This is a special celebration with lots of prizes and opportunities to thank both our sponsors and you our loyal Blog Hop participants.  Please leave a comment on one of our posts this month for a chance to win.  For even more opportunity to win, enter a card in the challenge.

Today I’ve used Ellen Hutson’s “Cozy Christmas” by Julie Ebersole.  This is such a timeless set and so great for a quick holiday card. I always like to find different ways to use the stamps so the light string became a frame. I also only used part of the “smoke” to create different puffs out of each house.

Cards in Envy Challenge -Hip To Be Square!

For this Cards in Envy Challenge I used one of the Creative Chemistry techniques, Luminous Mica, using Distress Ink and Distress Mica to create this gorgeous rainbow background.   WOW, does this give some dynamic results.

Remember, at Cards in Envy we ask that you make your card fit into a standard A2 card though, we have loosened up our requirements and no longer require a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card as long as it fits in the A2 Envy.

The colors I used with this card are Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Ripe Persimmon, Frayed Burlap, Candy Apple Red, and Mustard Seed.  My background stamp is an older Club Scrap wood mounted and my sentiment and candles are from “Wish Big” by Ellen Hutson.

I hope you will join us at Cards in Envy this week and show us some “Hip To Be Square” cards!  The challenge will run through Sunday, August 29th.
