Cards in Envy Challenge – Tuxedo!
For this Cards in Envy Challenge, we are all about the black and white cards for our “Tuxedo” challenge. Create any black and white themed card for your entry. Our challenge runs through Sunday, January, 28th and the design team will be picking their favorites. As a quick reminder, Cards in Envy asks that you make your card fit into a standard A2 card, which is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.
My card today features an older Stampin’ Up image used with a square scalloped punch. The black and white papers are from My Minds Eye and cut with a Lawn Fawn scalloped die. My script stamp is from Impression Obsessions, which I stamped in Hero Arts Shadow ink in soft granite. I edged in white pen, wrapped the focal in black and white twine, and finished with 3 black pearls.
I hope you will join us at Cards in Envy this week and show us your “Tuxedo” cards.
Technique Junkies – Coffee Gauge
Hello Junkies
I’m here today with some quick inspiration using the November Technique Junkies stamp release called, “Coffee Gauge #SD703” which I stamped using the Misti tool. I love using this tool because with large surface stamps like this one you often don’t get a good first impression.
The background is the result of some play with Alcohol Inks on Yupo. The great thing about this technique is if you don’t like it, simply wipe it off and start over. So forgiving. For added flare my background was sent through a texture folder from We R memor Keepers.
The Coffee Gauge is stamped with a dye based ink, then over that I applied Art Anthology Dazzled, which gave it both texture and shine. I finished off with dyed twine and called her done!
Sure hope you find some time to get your fingers inky today and I’ll see you later on this month for more junkie goodness.
See you then!

For my card this week I used Repeat Impressions “Plate 2300” which is a collection of Halloween images. My sentiment is also from the Halloween Plate 2300.

For my project, I wanted to feature “Snow Girl” using a Valentine theme. This past week I received the Splitcoast Stampers newsletter and saw a cool four (4) Way card by Dina Kowal so I immediately thought what a great way to feature this adorable image. I colored this sweet snow girl with my Copic Markers in R85, R83, R81, W5, W3, & W1. My design paper is American Crafts “Valentine” collection I found at AC more for dirt cheap. The heart die is from Nellie’s Dies and has several sizes to choose from. I used a few embellishments from the My Favorite Things Tag Blueprints 5 die. The image is floating in the heart by a bit of bakers twine in pink.
Now head over to Kelly Schelske’s and see what she has created.
Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday February 8th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday February 10th.
