A Day For Daisies: Feather Challenge 7-31-15

It’s Friday and time for a new challenge at A Day For Daisies!  For our new challenge, we are showcasing Feathers!  Wow, did I have fun.  I couldn’t decide to stamp feathers, make feathers, use dies, or go outside and pick some off the ground.  There are so many fun ways to use feathers that I sure hope you join us in the fun.

For my Design Team inspiration, I chose one of the new release stamps called,  “Bird Family On A Branch.”  I colored the image with Copic Markers in a combination of both cool and warm colors.  I die cut the family out using a Sizzix rectangle die and applied Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the edges while the die was still in place to create that nice white border.

For the feathers, I started with WPlus9’s Fanciful Feathers die.  I then sprayed them using several Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays and distressed with Gathered Twigs. After that, I got out the Liquid Platinum embossing powder and my Perfect Medium Embossing Pen and went to town creating a center area for the powder to stick. I tied the feathers together with silver metallic thread, chose Simple Stories “Vintage Bliss,” as my pattern paper, and die cut the card panel out with a WPlus 9 card panel die.

I sure hope you’ll stop by and see all the other designers cards showing their “Feather” creations.  The challenge will run through Thursday, August 6th at Noon.  See you at A Day For Daisies Blog!

We’d also love for you to visit our Facebook Community Page as we’d love to see your cards there too!

  1. Jaw dropping gorgeous Kathy. My jaw is on the floor lol.
What an amazing job you have done on this card. Great background and I love those birds but the feathers are just the perfect finish. The whole layout is FABULOUS.

  2. Hi, Kathy!

This card is just beautiful! I love your coloring and how you’ve little birdies go perfectly with that pretty paper. And, your feathers really are the perfect finishing touch.

On another note, thanks so much for all the kind words you’ve been leaving at my blog. How sweet of you. 🙂
