Technique Junkies – Golden Beauty

The Crafty Nurse here with mid-week inspiration.

Today, I’ve used the “Vine Beauty” to create a golden beauty.

My background is gold glitter paste applied through a marque stencil. You can also use translucent embossing paste and apply gold embossing powder over the top.  I then sprayed with Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass.  My “Vine Beauty” is stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz using my MISTI and also sprayed with Mica.  I then hand doodled a frame using the BEST gold marker called, “Extra Fine Point Paint Marker” by Pilot.

We are getting ready for the BIGGEST holiday release yet on September 1st.  Until then, please join us at the Facebook group and over on the Design Team Blog for our challenge.

Technique Junkies: Red or White, Hic….

Hello Junkies!!

The Crafty Nurse here today with a bright and festive card featuring one of Pat’s October release stamps called “Red or White Christmas #SD750″.

The background was created using the Pasted Resist Technique from the Sensational Stencil CD. I began with the Tim Holtz Poinsettia stencil and embossing paste.  After that was dried, I sprayed with Red Pepper Color Wash Spray.  Then over that I lightly spritzed Dylusions White Linen Spray.  This combination of colors is really vibrant and perfect for a holiday red. I also spritzed the white Dylusions over my black card stock for more texture. My card base is a very deep olive green and looks really great against that stunning red.

Stop on by the Technique Junkies Store to check out the October Release.

Until then, happy inking

Joyeux Noel – Technique Junkies

The Crafty Nurse here with more inspiration using the October Technique Junkies release.  You have only a few days left to claim your 15% off discount on this new release for the holidays.

I started my card sing the Pasted Resist Technique from the Sensational Stencil CD found at Technique Junkies.  I then sprayed with Art Anthology Colorations in Avocado, Leaf, and Sandcastle.  So I didn’t cover all that gorgeous texture, I used only a portion of the “Baubles S713″ background stamp as a strip of interest then added another new October Release sentiment called, “Joyeux SDX087”.   My red background was created by spraying Color Wash Spray in Red Pepper and a spritz of Dylusions White Linen spray for “snow”.

Stop by Technique Junkies store to pick up some great supplies for your inky pleasure!  Don’t forget, we are also celebrating 30 Days of Christmas at the TJ Design Team Blog beginning on October 15th through November 15th.  Hope you’ll join us.

Technique Junkies

Hello fellow Technique Enthusiasts!  Today I am brining you a card made from a oldie but a good technique from the newsletter back in August/September 2005 called, “Spectrum Roll”.  I used Kaleidacolor Desert Heat, Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Metallic Markers and Gold Ferro.  The stencil is Tim Holtz and the stamp is Technique Junkies “Singing in the Rain #SD 605b.”

Technique Junkies – More June Release Fun

Hello fellow Junkies!  Today I’m taking another journey to the beach with the June Technique Junkies release.  Today I focused on the image called, “Seahorse”  which has great detail.

I used the “Pasted Resist” technique from the Sensational Stencils CD. I began by stamping the image with Archival Ink then topped with translucent embossing paste.  Once dry, I inked over the image and paste with distress inks and framed it with gold foil tape.

I think the next time I do this I will mask off the seahorse so that image stands out more.  But inky play is all about having fun and learning, right?  You could either use liquid frisket, rubber cement, or a paper mask though I’d lean toward the liquid frisket.

For the background, I sprayed Lindy’s Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mists and embossed with Tim Holtz “Bubble” Stencil.  I finished off with brown ribbon and called it done.

June Paste & InkIf you haven’t yet checked out the June release stamps, come on over to the new Technique Junkies store.  In addition to stamps, Pat has added lots of other mediums, stencils, and other inky goodness.  See you there!

Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit

Here is another Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit.  Trying to finish this kit up so I can get ready for the August Kit, which is now up in the store.  I used transparent embossing paste and applied pan pastel’s over the top.  This made the transparent paste, white, which is not what I was after.  The sketch for this card is from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch PCCCS  #101.
