It’s the fifth Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built Anything Goes challenge. This doesn’t come around too often, but it’s your time to do anything you wish. You have until Tuesday, October 6th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.
For my card today I wanted to celebrate fall. I know, I just can’t get enough of it and we haven’t even seen the trees turning yet.
I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions “Nature Quartet 8506-U” with Versamark Ink and white heat embossed. I brought out my distress inks again and used Squeezed Lemonade, Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo.
The leaves are from the new Lawn Fawn stitched leaf die and the button is from My Favorite Things. The quartet images are perfect for a clean and simple design so hope you’ll stop by the store and check them out!

I am beyond thrilled to announce that From The Heart Stamps has chosen me as one of their fantastic Design Team Members formally beginning on October 1, 2015. I have had the honor to be a guest designer for this fabulous team on two previous occasions and since then have wanted to join them for a full design team term.
Today, I have made a card featuring the September Stamp of The Month to share for the Wednesday Design Team Inspiration post. I encourage you to participate in the Stamp of the Month challenge as you will receive a free stamp the following month for your participation.
My card today is colored with Copic Markers and distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The image is cut out with a Spellbinders die and the paper pack is from the new fall collection called, “Fall Blessings” by Carta Bella. My leaves are from the new Lawn Fawn dies and the Button dies are My Favorite Things. The element at the top of the card with circles is from a Simon Says Stamp die.
To add some texture to the leaves I distressed and stamped them with the “Giving Thanks” stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I finished the buttons off with distressing and tied a bow with waxed linen and popped them up over the leaves. Finally, the sentiment is also from From The Heart Stamps and inked with distress ink.
I look forward to seeing you over at From The Heart Stamps Community both on the blog and on Facebook. If you’d like to play along in the SOTM challenge with this image and wish to purchase her she can be found here.
Hello Fellow Junkies!!
It’s The Crafty Nurse here with a clean and simple card share for you using the gorgeous Technique Junkies stamp called “The Right Shoes #SD610.” I colored them with Copic Markers in R05, R27, R46, which is one of my favorite red combinations. The bottom of the shoes are C3, C5, and C7 and the skin colors are E50, E51, and E21.
The background was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder using “Faint Scratches #SD518.” This background stamp is perfect for so many design types and I find myself reaching for it often to add great texture.
The Right Shoes stamp is so striking on it’s own I wanted to showcase it with a clean design. The angle piece was cut using My Favorite Things Blueprint #15 die and I finished off the card with a waxed linen bow.
I hope you are finding some time to get inky today!
Happy New Year friends! With the holidays over, it’s time to get back into some card making challenges again! Today I’m posting my design team entry for the Cards in Envy challenge “Make it a Banner Year”. This challenges calls for using a banner of any type. Flag banners, label banners, tag banners, you name it, be creative. As usual, the only rule is your card must fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing. The design team will be choosing their favorites and the winners will be posted on the Cards in Envy Blog.
Now, ready for some inspiration? With all the Christmas cards I’ve made lately, I was in the mood to make a love card as we prepare for Valentines Day. If you are also a supporter of Operation Write Home, Love cards are one of the most needed cards and perfect for OWH anytime.
My card uses the 6 x 6 design pack called, “Black & White” by Glitz. I stamped the Simon Says Stamp “Sending Happy Thoughts” envelope on the Glitz paper and strung them up using some waxy thread from Close to My Heart. The LOVE sentiment are Basic Grey stickers and the “you” sentiment is from Winnie & Walter’s “Big Bold You”. I used a heart die to cut out some red cardstock from Bazzil and covered it with Glossy Accents. Finally, a sprinkling of sequence and gems to finish it off.
I can’t wait to see what your Banner Year looks like!
For this card I used Retro Sketches design 146. I created a frame using My Favorite Things square Dies and stamped the sentiment using “Birthday Buddies” from Paper Smooches. I embossed the background using “Tiny Triangles” from Hero Arts and stamped the sentiment with Navy Hero Arts Shadow Ink. The button is also MFT die tied with Close To My Heart Waxy Thread.
It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge! Today, we begin “Winter Fun” challenge that will go through Friday, January 2, 2015! As usual we have some great sponsors who have generously offered prizes to our randomly chosen winners. They are:
1) A Day For Daisies offering a prize of: $12 Gift Certificate
2) Dollar Graphic Depot offering a prize of: $15 Gift Certificate
3) Sassy Studio’s offering a prize of: 4 images of winners choice
Thanks Sponsors! For inspiration today I have a few images I’d like to share with you. The first is A Day For Daisies “Snowman Scott”. I colored Scott with Copic Markers and cut him out using the My Favorite Things Stitched Circle die. I created the background using the falling snowflake stencil from Simon Says Stamp along with molding paste from dreamweaver. The sweet little birdie is from Lawn Fawn. The “snow” sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the “Merry Christmas” is from Clearly Besotted.
My next card is from Dollar Graphics Depot called “Winter Thyme”. I love the digi’s from this sponsor as they offer many multiple image packets for only $1.00. I colored this sweet snowman with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn stitched journal card to give him a place to rest. The ornaments are from My Favorite Things dies and the Poinsettia is from Memory Box Dies. Sentiment is from Hero Arts stamps set, “Snow Much Joy”. Paper is American Crafts “Jolly” collection.
My final card is from Sassy Studio’s called, “Winter Wendy”. I colored her in Copics and used the “Holly Jolly Christmas” from Echo Park. Oval die is My Favorite Things and sentiment is Simon Says Stamp.
I saw this sketch and immediately thought about using the Bigz Poinsettia die and matching embossing folder as a focal piece. I cut it out using grunge paper, then applied rock candy crackle paint. Once that dried I applied Fired Brick and Vintage photo Distress Stains. After heat setting that I then applied the same colors but in the mini ink pads. Then, I applied a small amount of Fired Brick distress paint. The center is some Hero Arts gems applied with glossy accents and glittered. The paper is Lily Bee “Jingle” 6 x 6 pad. I cut out the circles with My Favorite Things and the string is Close To My Heart wax thread in Cranberry. I love how this came out. What do you think?
