My card features a Tiddly Inks puppy called “Flying High”.  I colored him with copics which I highlighted with Uniball Signo White Pen.  The design paper and sentiment is American Crafts and the stitched panel is My Favorite Things.

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #23 “Fowl of All Kinds”

It’s Saturday and time for Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #23 “Fowl of all Kinds”.  Okay, you may ask fowl?  Yes, fowl.  Birds of any kind.  Ducks, geese, pigeons, chickens, or anything else fowl.  Just think about all the adorable digital images out there you could use.  Our sponsors have a great selection of images that would work for this challenge and are offering some fabulous prizes for our randomly chosen winners.   In addition, the design team will also choose their favorite entries and those cards will be highlighted on the Open-Minded Crafting Blog.  Let’s get to some of those prizes:

EastWind

Prize: 3 Images of Winner’s Choice

MilkCoffee_zpsefcc2277

Prize:  5 Images of Winner’s Choice

Stamping Chef

Prize:  3 Images of Winner’s Choice

Di's Digi Designs

Prize:  $12 Dollar Gift Certificate for Winner

DrD_Anim_AD

Prize: 2 Images of Winner’s Choice

Now, for some inspiration!  I’ve chosen an image by Milk Coffee called “Charlotte & Her Love Letter”.  I used prismacolor pencils to color her, then applied gamsol to blend.  I then covered it with embossing ink using a embossing pen, then applied clear powder to set.  This allowed me to create the background in distress ink without touching the image.  This was a tip from Jennifer McGuire.  If you don’t watch her video’s, I highly recommend them.  The sentiment is Tiddly Inks and paper is My Mind’s Eye “Vanity Fair”.  Circle and flag dies are My Favorite Things. Hope you will show us your fowl!

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch Challenge – Back to School Theme

It’s Tuesday and that means another Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch challenge.  Now that summer is coming to a close, we are starting back up with themes in addition to the sketch.  As always, you do not need to use the theme to participate, just the sketch.  This weeks theme is…..Back to school!  So break out the school supplies and get stampin’ with us!

In addition to the sketch below, my inspiration card uses a digital image from Tiddly Inks, called “Teacher’s Helper”.  Image was colored with Copic’s and designed with paper from Fancy Pants called, “Memories Captured”.   The label on the side is from My Favorite Things and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp “Tilted Banner Sayings”.

The design team will be choosing the top 3 cards for highlighting on the blog so go get an A+!

May Simon Says Stamp – Card 5

Card 5 – SSS May

may22 - Copy

Today I’m back to playing with my May Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  I used a Tiddly Inks Digital Image and colored her w/copics.  The design is based on the Fusion Challenge which allows you to use the sketch, the picture inspiration or both, which I did.  The music clouds are stamped with a stamp from Our Daily Bread called “Amazing Grace” and the sentiment also from ODB is called “Ornate Frame Sentiments”.   The cloud background is from a Darice embossing folder. I stamped the dots on the circle with a stamp from Impression Obsession and cut out the clouds with a lawn fawn die from “Into the Woods”. Finally, I used some distress ink in Antique Linen to edge the card.

Thanks for checking out my card!  Happy Sunday.
