From The Heart Stamps Sketch #136 – Twist: Shabby/Chic

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  I’m here with Sketch #136 at From The Heart Stamps.  These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image.  The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is Shabby/Chic.Sketch136
I used just the sketch today for this vibrant card.  My image is, “Mitten”  which I colored with Copic Markers.  As the colors were so deep, I didn’t have paper to match so I used the trick of coloring a background paper with the same copic colors to create unity.

The background paper is Studio Calico and the dies and sentiment are My Favorite Things.

I hope you’ll join us for the sketch this week at From The Heart Stamps for sketch #136!

Sketch Saturday Challenge #396

It’s Saturday and time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday.  This week we are sponsored by Drawn With Character who is offering the random winner 3 images of their choice!  You have until Friday, January 29th to enter.

This week I used Drawn With Character’s “Penguin” for my focal image today.  I colored him in watercolors using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I heat embossed the Hero Arts Snowflake background in white powder, then using the Zig makers created a watered colored distressed background.  I edged with Distress Inks and added a Lawn Fawn sentiment.

We can’t wait to see how you interpret that Sketch Saturday layout this week.  Come of by!

A Day For Daisies: Angels Showcase & Challenge

It’s Friday and time for a new challenge featuring “pearls” using the showcase Angels images from A Day For Daisies.  You have until Thursday, December 31st to enter the challenge.

For today’s card, I used “Child Boy Fairy” which I colored with Copic Markers.  My background was created using torn up strips of paper from the Studio Calico “Wonderland” collection that I adhered down with gel medium, distressed, and embossed for a mixed media/vintage feel. I added several different colors of Fran’tage embossing powders, added a My Favorite Things sentiment, and finished off with a few pearls for his jacket.

We can’t wait to see what your “add pearls” entry looks like using your A Day For Daisies Images.  Please also visit our Facebook Community Page as we’d love to see your cards there too!

From The Heart Stamps – December Stamp Of The Month Reminder

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am bringing you a reminder to come join us for the From The Heart Stamps December Progressive Stamp of The Month Challenge.  If you want to participate, simply purchase this months stamp, enter and next month you will get a free SOTM.  As long as you continue to participate, you keep getting free stamps!!!

I colored this sweet image called “Gift Stack Teddy Bear” with Copic Markers. The background is a Hero Arts background stamp called, “Hand Drawn Snowflake Bold Prints” that I embossed with Ranger’s Snowflake Tinsel.  You can’t really tell in the photo but it has great sparkle.  The woodgrain paper is Studio Calico’s Wonderland collection that I cut with a Lawn Fawn Border die.  I finished off with faux stitching with my favorite white Signo Uniball pen.

For my Design Team inspiration I used the image, “Christmas Wish” today. I started by paper piecing the sweater with Studio Calico paper.  I then colored my skunk with cool grey Copic Markers and shaded with warm grey’s.

The pine boughs are from a Penny Black stamp set called, “Nature’s Gift,” which I embossed with clear over white ink. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and works so perfectly with this image.

We look forward to seeing your creations not only at A Day For Daisies Blog but also on the ADFD Facebook Community Page!
