Happy Tuesday! That means it’s time for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday’s Sketch Challenge! Today we are celebrating the theme of PEACE. What a wonderful sentiment as we begin the rushed holiday season. I have been so inspired making this years Christmas cards and I hope you will join us this week using the provided sketch to make one of your holiday cards. You have until Monday, December 8th to entry.
Ready for some inspiration?
I used a Stampendous stamp and colored this “Jolly Santa” with Copic Markers. The dies are Lawn Fawn’s stitched frames and Echo Park’s “Holly Jolly” 6 x 6 paper pad. The peace sentiment from Julie Ebersole at Ellen Hutson was cut out several times with white paper, then once with black glitter paper. I adhered them all together to make a raised die cut (learned from the great Jennifer McGuire). I finished off with some enamel dots and white gel pen highlights. Thanks for stopping by!
It’s Monday and time for another Cards in Envy Challenge! Woohoo, I’m really excited about this challenge because “Santa is Coming to Town”! YEAH! With Thanksgiving over and our bellies full, it’s time to breakout our Santa Claus stamps. You can use any image that has to do with Santa as long as it’s fits into a A2 standard card.
For my inspiration I’ve chosen to use a stamp by Stampendous called “Jolly Santa”. I colored him with my Kuretake Watercolors, which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE as well as some distress inks. The twinkle sentiment is from “Holiday Words” by Tim Holtz/Alterations, which has 17 wonderful messages in one die set. I placed the sentiment on vellum and finished it with a bit of Wink of Stella. I finished the card by splashing water over the background for texture. Hope you like him!
Happy Saturday everyone! It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids Card Challenge! You ready? This challenge is featuring kid friendly Fall or Halloween cards. You can use any image be it rubber stamp, digital or cut file, it’s up to you. We have some great sponsors for this challenge that would love for you to use their images in the challenge, so check them out. The first sponsor is:
1) The Crackerbox Palace – Prize – $15.00 Gift Certificate
2) The Cutting Cafe – Prize – 3 sets of digis or cutting files
3) Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet – Prize – 2 digital images – Value $6.00
Now, let’s get to some inspiration! My first card showcases images from The Cutting Cafe’s “Halloween Time”. This set alone comes with 55 assorted digital images and I just used a few to make a scene! Fun set. I created shadows with Copic Markers and the sentiment stamp is an oldie but a goodie from Stampendous. Paper is from DCWV 6 x 6 pad “Spooky Time”.
My second card is from The Crackerbox Palace using the Pumpkin and Autumn Blessing images, which I colored with Copic Markers and design paper from Authentique’s “Enchanted”. The stitching is created by the new “Stitched” die from paper smooches. I finished this one off with some waxy thread and called her done.
My final offering is from Stitchy Bear’s Digital Outlet called “New Hat”. She’s colored in Copic Markers with a small strip of We Are Memory Keepers “Spooksville” design paper on the edge. The “Boo” is a new Paper Smooches Die. Though I am already Copic Certified, I just took another awesome class by Jennifer Dove through Annie’s Closet. If you haven’t seen her work, you’re really missing out. She does a great job and explaining how to color people. She also has a beginner class that is supposed to be really good too. The coloring I’ve done is really basic compared to what she does, but it was my first go after the class and I can see more definition in the face that I normally produce. I look forward to hearing if you’ve also taken this class and what you thought about it.
