I’m thrilled to announce that I have been accepted as a new Design Team member for Brown Sugar Challenges! Brown Sugar Challenges is a very busy weekly challenge blog supported by great sponsors and fabulous prizes.
For my first challenge, the theme is “Girly,” sponsored by Sassy Studios Design. Today I’m using a “Snow Queen Sassy” to showcase my “Girly” card. The sheerness of her clothing reminded me of an etherial angel so I put her in the clouds. She is colored with Copic Markers and the background is created with Pan Pastel chalks and a cloud stencil. The edges are a band of Washi Tape by Little B and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamp “Forever & Always” embossed with clear powder over Versafine ink.
I can’t wait to see what your Girly Card looks like this week and hope you’ll join us at Brown Sugar Challenges for a chance to win some great prizes!
Happy Saturday! That means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge and we are celebrating Bright Colors 4 Kids! You have until Friday, July 24th to enter your card. We are always so grateful to our wonderful sponsors who support us by offering such great prizes.
Those sponsors are:
1) Stitchy Bear – offering $10 dollar gift certificate to store.
2) The Cutting Cafe– offering 3 digital images or cut files of winners choice.
3) Sassy Studios – offering 4 digital images of winners choice.
My first card uses Stitchy Bears Cartoon Boy Riding on Skateboard” digital image which I colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is also Stitchy Bear from “Tammy Tween” digital image. I colored the edges with distress ink while the spellbinders die was still in place creating that great white border. The background is an embossing folder by Darice and a great price at Hobby Lobby. The stars across the card are from Simon Says Stamp “Hey Dude.”
The next card features a super fun project from The Cutting Cafe called, “Sail Boat Shaped Card Set”. This project can be done without a specialized cutting machine by simply printing the PDF file from a standard printer, which I’ve done. The pattern paper is from Our Daily Bread. To create the layers behind the pattern paper, I used the same pattern then trimmed a little off each side to fit. To ensure both sides were even, I cut both right and left pattern papers at the same time. I distressed the edges of the card stock with Distress Ink and colored wood veneer stars using my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The sentiment was cut using standard circle dies from My Favorite Things.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using Bright Colors 4 Kids.
Happy Saturday! That means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge and we are having fun with punches and dies. I can remember a few years ago when it was not common to have a die for almost every stamp made and that you needed an entire wall to store all your punches. Thankfully, dies are thin and I’m not afraid to admit, I have a few!
As usual for we have some really great sponsors this week. You have until Friday, March 6th to enter.
Also, a quick reminder that Send a Smile 4 Kids is growing and has added more hospitals and volunteers to take your donated cards. We hope you’ll consider donating some cards for kids in need. Check out how.
Now, let’s get on to those sponsors:
1) Flat Friends – offering 6 digital images of winners choice
2) Paper Shelter – offering 3 digital images of winners choice
3) Sassy Studios – offering 4 digital images of winners choice
My first card uses Flat Friends “Love Heart”. He’s colored with Copic’s and the paper is Carta Bella “Boy oh Boy” collection. The “bubble die” is My Favorite Things and the curved die he’s sitting on is the “curved edge” die from Simon Says Stamp. The love sentiment is Paper Smooches.
The next card features “Soccer Star” from Paper Shelter. He’s colored with copics and the paper is and oldie but a goodie from Deja Views called “Sports”. The circles dies are from My Favorite Things.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using your punches and dies.
It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge! Today, we begin “Winter Fun” challenge that will go through Friday, January 2, 2015! As usual we have some great sponsors who have generously offered prizes to our randomly chosen winners. They are:
1) A Day For Daisies offering a prize of: $12 Gift Certificate
2) Dollar Graphic Depot offering a prize of: $15 Gift Certificate
3) Sassy Studio’s offering a prize of: 4 images of winners choice
Thanks Sponsors! For inspiration today I have a few images I’d like to share with you. The first is A Day For Daisies “Snowman Scott”. I colored Scott with Copic Markers and cut him out using the My Favorite Things Stitched Circle die. I created the background using the falling snowflake stencil from Simon Says Stamp along with molding paste from dreamweaver. The sweet little birdie is from Lawn Fawn. The “snow” sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the “Merry Christmas” is from Clearly Besotted.
My next card is from Dollar Graphics Depot called “Winter Thyme”. I love the digi’s from this sponsor as they offer many multiple image packets for only $1.00. I colored this sweet snowman with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn stitched journal card to give him a place to rest. The ornaments are from My Favorite Things dies and the Poinsettia is from Memory Box Dies. Sentiment is from Hero Arts stamps set, “Snow Much Joy”. Paper is American Crafts “Jolly” collection.
My final card is from Sassy Studio’s called, “Winter Wendy”. I colored her in Copics and used the “Holly Jolly Christmas” from Echo Park. Oval die is My Favorite Things and sentiment is Simon Says Stamp.
Hey friends, it’s Saturday and time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge. This is such a great cause that supports hospitalized children by providing them cheerful cards in times of need. I encourage you to join us in both our challenges and in sending in some cards, especially during the up coming holiday season when being away from home is extra difficult.
Fall is my favorite season and I am just in thrilled to offer some inspiration and see what you create using Fall Colors with kid twist. As you know our challenges are supported by some great sponsors and this week is no different so let me tell you all about them.
Jelly Park: Prize is 4 Images of winners choice
DRS Designs: Prize is a $10.00 Gift Certificate
Sassy Studios: Prize is 4 images of winners choice
WOOHOO, let’s get to some inspiration – oh, and don’t forget, the design team will also choose their favorite and the winner is offered a guest design team spot for the next challenge!
My first card for inspiration is from Jelly Park. This sweet image is colored with copic markers and cut out with a Sizzix frame die. The leaves are an Obsession Impression die and the paper used is from Farmhouse “Sugar Hill” 6 x 6 collection. I also used a My Favorite Things stitched die across the card and finished her off with ticket from Tim Holtz.
My second card for inspiration is from DRS Designs. I just adore coloring pumpkins and used my Copic Markers in Y04, Y07, Y09, R08, and Y38 for some highlight. The fall sentiment is from “Into the Woods” and the thankful sentiment is from “So Thankful”, both Lawn Fawn.
My last card for inspiration is from Sassy Studio’s. This “Bewitched” image was colored with copics and highlighted with distress inks to make the sky. The stars are from Simon Says Stamp and paper is K & Company. Sentiment is paper smooches and embossed with white powder.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my inspiration and would love to see you over at Send a Smile 4 Kids!
