Cards in Envy Challenge: Winter Chills

Happy Monday and Happy New Year!  Over at Cards in Envy, we are celebrating the challenge with cards that focus on “Winter Chills”. That means we’d love to see cards that showcase anything about winter cold.  Snowmen, snowbirds, snowflakes, scarves, hats, mittens, or anything else you can think of that represents winter chills.  Don’t forget to make sure your card fits into a standard A2 size envelope.

My card today features a few different stamp sets to create this scene. The snowman is from Lawn Fawn’s “Making Frosty Friends”, the penguin is from Lawn Fawn’s “Toboggon Together”, and a few of the embellishments are from Paper Smooches, “Swanky Snowdudes”.  I colored them all with Copic Markers and paper pieced with Carta Bella’s “Bundled Up” design paper.

You have until Sunday, January 14th to enter the “Winter Chills” challenge over at Cards in Envy.   Can’t wait to see what you do.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Easy as 1, 2, 3

Happy Monday!  It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge.  This week our theme is “Easy as 1, 2, 3.” These are clean and simple cards.

As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer.

For today’s card, I used Paper Smooches “Falling For You” set to stamp my apple onto patterned paper.  To add some dimension, I stamped again on a coordinating paper and fussy cut the apple center.  I popped up a few hearts and inked the edges to add more depth to my simple design.  To create the circle, I die cut a circle with masking paper and inked inside. The sentiment is also from the set and I thought matched perfectly with the apple theme.  I do love this time of year!

Hope we’ll see your “Easy as 1, 2, 3” cards over at the Cards in Envy challenge.  You have until October 1st to enter.

From The Heart Stamps April Blog Hop!

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps April blog hop. This month our theme is “Sweet Treats”.  YUM!  The optional twist is sequins so enjoy the sweet sparkly goodness the design team has to offer this month.

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

If you have arrived from Kathy Curry’s website, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

For my project, my “sweet treat” features the yummy looking  “Cupcake Lineup” digi that comes in a straight and a curved formation.  I played with this a little and flipped the image to create an oval shape.  That’s one of the really fun things about digi’s is ways to make them your own.

I colored these sweet cupcakes with my Copic Markers in R89, R85, R83, R81, W4, W2, & Wo, Y19, Y15, Y11, YR18, YR14 , E15, and the liners in E29, E25, E23, and E21.  My design paper is Amy Tangerine’s “Rise & Shine collection and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from “Flurry” .  The oval die is from My Favorite Things and I stamped Paper Smooches “Sugar Rush” sentiment on more of the Amy Tangerine paper.

April Hop

Now head over to Kelly Schelske’s and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Sunday, April 10th at 6 am EST so you have a good while to get all your comments in for a chance to win free digi’s. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday April 13th.

KennyK’s Challenge #203 – Give Thanks

Hello KennyK friends.  Today I’m back as guest designer for the “Give Thanks Challenge” at the KennyK Krafty Krew’s Blog.   The challenge runs through September 30th so we’d love to have you come over and enter a card for a chance to win some great prizes.

For my card today I used “Dancer”.  She has such a free spirit and was really fun to color with my Copic Markers.  I cut the image out using the Lawn Fawn journaling card die as well as My Favorite Things rectangle dies and Wplus 9 card base die.

The paper is from Simple Stores “DIY Boutique.”  I added a few notes from Simon Says Stamp “Music to My Ears” stamp set to mimic the notes in the image.  The sentiment is a combination of Paper Smooches and Simon Says Stamp.

I hope you will join in for the 203rd KennyK Challenge featuring “Give Thanks.” Happy Crafting!

Cards in Envy Challenge: Cute & Cuddly

Happy Monday!  It’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and we are celebrating all things cute and cuddly!

Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 sized card without any large lumps or bumps.  The challenge will run through Sunday, August 30th and our design team will be choosing their favorites to show off on the blog.

My card features some cute and cuddly creatures from Paper Smooches  called, “Woofers & Tweeters.”  I began by stamping the background with an Impression Obsession “crackle” stamp.  I colored the cuddly creatures with Copic Markers and cut them out using the accompanying dies.  The “friend” die is from My Favorite things, which I antiqued with distress ink and stamped with paws from the same stamp set.

I hope you’ll join us at Cards in Envy for this Cute and Cuddly challenge.
