The House That Stamps Built: Color Challenge

It’s the first Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built color challenge!   The colors for our challenge put me in mind of spring and Easter – a much needed thought with this cold weather!  You have until Tuesday, March 10th to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.

Here are this weeks colors:

For my card I’ve created a Springy Easter scene using Repeat Impressions stamps, “My Sunshine 8402-M“, “Grass Border 1507-J”, and “Easter Egg (lg) 4504-M”.  I colored the Easter eggs with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Mica’s mixed with a little water to make a watercolor paint.  I also used some glaze pens to embellish the eggs. The grass was stamped with Hero Arts shadow inks and the sky was created with Pan Pastels and a handmade cloud stencil.   Last, I popped up a My Favorite Things frame die on foam tape and called it done.

Come join us at The House That Stamps Built, you may be our next winner!  Oh, and don’t forget to get your discount code from my blogs sidebar when you shop at Repeat Impressions Stamps.

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday: Sketch Challenge #206

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a new sketch.  Today Barb created a hand drawn sketch, which I love.  You have until Monday, February 23rd to enter and the design team will be choosing their favorites which will be featured on the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog.

For my inspiration I’ve used the February Simon Says Stamp card kit.  The heart die is Impression Obsession found on Simon Says Stamp which was inlayed into the die using the paper from the kit.  The other hearts on the card are chipboard colored with pan pastels.  The background panels are My Favorite Things rectangle die.

Hope you like this sketch too and join us this week at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all.  Hope you are spending time with those you love.  Today at Open-Minded Crafting we begin our “Up In The Air” challenge, which runs through Friday, February 27th.    There are lots of prizes offered by our generous sponsors so I hope you’ll join us.  Our design team will also choose their favorite so your card may be featured at Open-Minded Crafting Challenges.

Here’s our sponsors this week and the prizes they are offering:

ADFDPrize: 3 Digital Images of Random Winner Choice

jwillustrationsAD1_zps17777dadPrize: $10.00 Gift Certificate for random winner

Sentimental SusanPrize: 7 Digital Images of Random Winners Choice

MilkCoffee_zpsefcc2277Prize: 5 Digital Images of Random Winners Choice

Let’s get on to some inspiration!  I chose an image from A Day For Daisies, which  I colored with Copics and used an older paper collection called “Love” by Fancy Pants.  The circle and heart dies are My Favorite Things and the scallop die is Lifestyle Crafts. I created the clouds using Pan Pastels.

Can’t wait to see what is up in the air for you!

My 1st Post for Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge – Clean & Simple

The theme for this Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card.  There are 3 very generous sponsors for this challenge and winners are determined by random drawing.  The sponsors are:  1) DRS Designs offering a $10.00 gift certificate, 2) A Day For Daisies offering a $12.00 Gift Certificate, and 3) Kitchen Sink Stamps who is offering a $25.00 Gift Certificate.  WOW. Thank you sponsors for supporting the mission of helping kids feel better.  What fabulous sponsors we have!

My first card is from DRS Designs called “Ladybug Stack” and Sentiment I used pan pastels for the background and copics to color the lady bugs.

My second card is from A Day For Daisies called “Carnation Pixie”.  I colored her with copics and after die cutting the focal shape, I kept the die in place while I inked spun sugar Distress Ink around the edges.  When you remove the die, there is a lovely frame around the edge.  I also used a die cut to emboss the background instead of cutting it out.  To do this simply use the embossing pad between the cutting plates and you’ve got texture instead of a die cut.  Another fun extra on this card are the white gel pen accents, which, to me, makes it look fairy like.

I hope you are inspired and join us at the SAS4kids challenge, which will last until August 15, 2014.  Thank you for stopping by and supporting my new design team adventure and SAS4Kids.  Happy Day and donate some cards (here’s how)!

Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit

Here is another Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit.  Trying to finish this kit up so I can get ready for the August Kit, which is now up in the store.  I used transparent embossing paste and applied pan pastel’s over the top.  This made the transparent paste, white, which is not what I was after.  The sketch for this card is from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch PCCCS  #101.

Now that it’s summer, I was inspired by this Broken Box Stock Design “Beach Toodle”.   If you haven’t been by to see all the cool digital images from this great designer, please stop by and check them out.  I colored this Toodle with Copic Markers (Yr31, Y32, Y24, Y27, Y02, Y04, Y07, Y09, Y15, Y19, Y38, B00, B01, E41, and E43 and used My Mind’s Eye “Sunny” 6 x 6 paper. The clouds are made with Pan Pastels using a hand made cloud pattern and brushing over it with a cotton ball to get the wispy image. Sentiment is Paper Smooches.

Simon Says Stamp June Kit – Card 9 & 10

Here are two more cards for the June Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  The first card uses the (CAS)e This Sketch as inspiration for the stamp set that was white embossed and colored with Pan Pastels (wow these are so cool).  The white splats are Memories Mists in Whipped Cream mixed with water.  The gems are from Reflections (Michael’s brand) and Queen and Company.  The hemp bow is from my stash.

The second card uses up the paper scraps from the kit with some of the Washi in an attempt to balance all the patterns, though, not sure it really worked. Oh, well, they can’t all be masterpieces – LOL.
