Happy Wednesday! Today I have some mid-week design team inspiration using From The Heart Stamps!
My card today uses a beautiful bird image, “Warbler and Magnolias” which I colored using Daniel Smith watercolors. I stamped the background in Hero Arts Vanilla shadow ink with My Favorite Things script stamp. I finished off with Ellen Hutson ribbon and Lawn Fawn Sequins.
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with this weeks sketch challenge at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image – the rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to “enlarge and crop your image.”
For my card I used only the sketch this week. I began with the April Stamp of the Month “Time To Bloom” which I colored with Daniel Smith watercolors. I used a lighter weight watercolor paper, 90lb, and put through my inkjet printer. I heat set with my embossing gun to make sure it was really dry then applied the watercolor with as little water as possible. The butterfly ran a little more so I had to use darker colors, but overall I was pleased with the outcome.
You have until Sunday, May 29th to enter Sketch #152 at From The Heart Stamps. Hope to see you there!
Happy Monday! That means it’s time for a new Cards in Envy Challenge and this week we are celebrating “Just Us Girls! Please make sure your card fits into a standard A2 envelope without any large lumps or bumps. The challenge will run through Sunday, May 15th and our design team will be choosing their favorite cards to feature on the The Cards in Envy blog.
For my card I used a digital image by Morgans Artworld called “Ragamuffin Kids”. I enjoyed coloring this with Copic Markers and used a Technique Junkies background text stamp and a My Favorite Things sentiment.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week for your “Just For The Girls” cards at Cards in Envy Challenge!
Hello friends! Happy Monday! I’m here with sketch #149 at From The Heart Stamps. These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist. The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image and the sketch. The rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to “Use A Die Cut”.
For my card I used the April Stamp of the Month called “Time to Bloom”. This is such a gorgeous new image and I love the brush sentiments! I colored the images with Copic Markers with the addition of white gel pen for highlights. The paper pack is Lily Bee ‘Head Over Heels” collection and the background text is a My Favorite Things stamp. For my dies, I used the stitched squares, also by My Favorite Things.
Happy Saturday Friends! It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is Animals! Happy Saturday! I’m really excited for todays new Sketch Saturday challenge because I created the sketch! It’s a very simple sketch, but I love it because it allows the image to be the focus. This is especially important for this week because our sponsor is A Day For Daisies an absolute favorite of mine. Tammy, the creator of A Day For Daisies, is offering a very generous $12.00 gift certificate to her store for our random winner! You have until Friday, February 12th for a chance to win.
Here’s my sketch:
My card features the stunning image from A Day For Daisies called, Doll Face 5.” I colored her with Copic Markers and used watercolor pencils for the background. The sentiment is from the Amazing stamp set by My Favorite Things as is the oval die. The banner die is Simon Says Stamp and the Scallop die is Spellbinders.
We’d love for you to join us for Sketch #398 at Sketch Saturday!
