For my card this week, I began by stamping Repeat Impressions background “ Music Sheet 6806-U” in Hero Arts Soft Sand.  Over that, I stamped “Wheat Sheaf 915-I” with versamark ink then distressed over all of that in Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  My sentiment is “Let us 2826-H” embossed in black and popped up.  My leaves are Impression Obsession dies that I tipped with glitter and finished off with a gold enamel dot.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #419 – Sami Stamps

It’s Saturday morning and that means it’s time for a new Sketch Saturday challenge.  This week we are being sponsored by the talented Sami Stamps who is offering a generous $12.00 gift certificate to the random winner of the challenge.

Here’s the Sketch:

419

My card today uses a fantastic summer image by Sami called,  “Warm Sand”.  I colored him up with Copic Markers and used Lawn Fawn “Into the Woods” paper pack along with Simon Says Stamp “Happy & Smile”  stamp set to embellish. The square die is My Favorite Things and I made the sand by mixing glossy accents with glitter!

For my card this week, I was inspired by a card design that I came across on Pinterest using die cuts in a chevron pattern.  The die I used is “Sunny Studios” Fishtail Banner Dies, which comes with four (4) different fishtail/chevron patterns.  I will be featuring “how to” do this technique on my next “project of the week” on June 13th, so stay tuned.

For my sentiment, I chose to use the Repeat Impressions stamp, “Happy Birthday 1113-D and Make A Wish 4034-F ” which I stamped in Versafine Black Onyx Ink.

A Day For Daisies: Challenge “Add Glitter”

It’s Friday and time for a new post at A Day For Daisies!  This week we begin a new challenge by “adding glitter.”  The challenge will run through Thursday, March 31st at noon on the A Day For Daisies Blog!

For my card today I used the sweet showcase image called, “Carrots for Supper.”  I colored her with Copic Markers and used a Hero Arts sentiment from “Fancy Basics.”  I then added prisma glitter, also by Hero Arts and added a doodled frame.

We’d love for you to visit our Facebook Community Page where you can post your creations in addition to adding them on the blog.  Adding “glitter” to your projects can be super fun and I can’t wait to see what your creations bring this week.

FtHS-March-blog-hop

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. This month the theme is “Case It” using one of our fellow design team members as inspiration!  To “case” another’s card, we use those elements of their style and make it our own.

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

If you have arrived from Kathy Curry’s website, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

For my card I used the fabulous inspiration of Nazeema “Calypso” Thompson from her post of January 7, 2016 where she created a shaker using sentiments as a background, used partial images, and flag banners.

Here’s her card I “Case-d”:

calypso

Here is my card as “case-d” from the design Calypso created.  For the background I used the congrats sentiment from “Cat’s Out of the Bag” which I brought into photo shop and adjusted both size and opacity. My focal image is “Laughing Giraffes” colored with Copic Markers and embellished.  The balloons are from “Birdie and Balloon” also colored with Copics.  After coloring my banner in the same Copics, I added a die cut the Die-Versions birthday die cut from glitter paper, which is also used on the My Favorite Things die frame.March Hop

Now head over to Kelly Schelske’s and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday March 7th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday March 9th.

Here is my Clean & Simple version using “Mistletoe Birdbrains” colored with Copic Markers and embellished with a bit of holiday ribbon.  Can’t get much more Clean & Simple!

Clean & SimpleMisletoe C&S-wm

For my “over the top” version, I used the same “Mistletoe Birdbrains” image, which I colored with copics, but added falling snow using Lawn Fawn stamps in silver Hero Arts Pigment Ink.  The DCWV glitter paper is cut with a Memory Box die and popped up over my image.  For the snow, I added Stampendous “Shaved Ice” with Gel Medium and finished the card off with a string of light bulbs.  I found this a super fun challenge because I don’t often break out the embellishments and go to town.

Brown Sugar Challenge #161: Big Sentiments

Happy Friday!  It’s time for a new challenge at Brown Sugar Challenges and today, we are looking for “Big Sentiments.”  This challenge is sponsored by Di’s Digis Stamps offering a $12.00 voucher to their store and SLS Lines Digital Stamps offering 3 digital images or products for $10.00 from their store.  Thanks Sponsors!!

For my card today, I’ve used SLS Lines “Tired Mom.”  I think those of us mothers can related, right?  I colored colored mom with Copic Markers and used Glitz’s “Brightside” 6 x 6 paper pad. My image and card base were cut out using a My Favorite Things dies.  My large sentiment “MOM” is cut out using a WPlus9 die, colored with Copics and glittered.  I figured she needed a little sparkle.

We look forward to seeing what your “Big Sentiments” look like. You have until September 3rd to enter at Brown Sugar Challenges. See you there!

Deconstructed Sketch 177

I saw this sketch and immediately thought about using the Bigz Poinsettia die and matching embossing folder as a focal piece.  I cut it out using grunge paper, then applied rock candy crackle paint.  Once that dried I applied Fired Brick and Vintage photo Distress Stains.  After heat setting that I then applied the same colors but in the mini ink pads.  Then, I applied a small amount of Fired Brick distress paint.   The center is some Hero Arts gems applied with glossy accents and glittered. The paper is Lily Bee “Jingle” 6 x 6 pad.  I cut out the circles with My Favorite Things and the string is Close To My Heart wax thread in Cranberry.  I love how this came out.  What do you think?
