Hey There Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here with a little ATC attitude for you this month using one of the February new release stamps called, “Downtown Boy Kitty #SD705”. Wow! Does this stamp really epitomize the glorious detail you can get in a high quality red rubber stamp. You can see every line of fur and every cross hatch in his tweet jacket. This is a real stunner!
For my ATC, I began by dry embossing a standard 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 size piece of card stock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I applied a few layers of Daniel Smith watercolors in Quinacridone Gold, Aureolin, and Burnt Umber. Boy Kitty was stamped using Black Soot Archival Ink, then colored with Distress Markers.
My sentiment is a Tim Holtz sticker, but Pat has also created a fabulous sentiment that goes perfectly with this stamp called “Sarcasm.”
Hope you all find time to this week to get your hands inky with a few of these new stamps from the February 2017 release.
Until next time,
It’s the third Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built photo inspiration challenge. For March we have a colorful kitty.
As with all our challenges, let the photo be your guide and use your creativity to inspire you. You have until Tuesday, March 22nd to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions. If you use a Repeat Impressions stamp, you’ll get an extra entry!
Here’s the inspiration chosen by our Rock Stars:
For my card, I used Repeat Impressions stamp “Spring Chick 1311-J” which I stamped with Archival Jet Black Ink to avoid smearing when watercoloring. My colors are Tombow Markers, my newest toy. The sweet sentiment is, “Happy Easter/Spring 3909-F”. For texture, I used a basket We R Memory Keepers folder and finished off with a few gems.
It’s the second Wednesday of October and that means it’s time for a Designers Choice Challenge at The House That Stamp Built! Today, Joy is hosting our challenge and she has chosen “Pumpkin Time.”
For my “Pumpkin Time” card I used Repeat Impressions, “Prize Pumpkin #514-I” which I colored with Copic Markers. I then cut it out using square die from My Favorite Things and distressed the edges with Antique Linen.
My sentiment is a little tough to see in the photo, but I used, “Let Us #2826-H.” The Paper pack is Carta Bella’s “Fall Blessings.”
I sure hope you break out your creativity for “Pumpkin Time” this week at The House that Stamps Built. Happy Wednesday!
Hello Friends. It’s time for the annual Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop. This is a special hop as our mission this year is finishing strong because Operation Write Home is closing it’s doors! I’d love for you to help me get the word out that we need to finish strong. That means we still need cards, but they must be sent in no later than August 1, 2015.
For your participation in the hop, if you leave a comment on my blog I am giving away a brand new Dylusions Paint jar in Bubblegum Pink!
So let’s get to a little inspiration. For my card I broke out my old tools of dry embossing, the light table and stylus. One thing I had forgotten was you have to reverse the stencil so the image comes out in the right direction. My first go had my flag facing left and that just won’t do! HAHA.
I inked the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to create the distressed look. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink “Military Hero” stamp set. Paper is from Farmhouse “Fair Skies” collection.
Please leave me a comment and if you like what you see, sign up to get my e-mail notifications for more inspiration.
Happy Hopping and don’t forget, please continue to send your cards into OWH until August 1st!
