Happy Saturday!!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far, I know I am.  It’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge celebrating the men in our lives.  We have some really super sponsors this week too.  You have until Friday, May 20th to enter.

After you enter your card at Send a Smile 4 Kids, please consider donating it to some needy children who are hospitalized. We are growing and need your support.  Check out how.

Now, let’s get on to those sponsors:

1) Doodle Pantry– offering a $10.00 Gift Certificate to their store

2) Die-versions– offering a $15.00 Gift Certificate

Now how about some inspiration?   My card today uses “Gone Fishing.”  With Father’s Day right around the corner, this is a fabulous set to use for your cards.  The background is a Simon Says Stamp background using versamark ink.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and distressed the edges to finish off my card.

My next card uses a digital image from “Crafty Sentiments called, “Summer Breeze”.   I colored her with Copic Markers and cut her out using a bracket die from my stash.  The “You” sentiment and background paper is cut with Simon Says Stamp dies.

1) Dollar Graphics Depot– offering a $15.00 Gift Certificate to their store

2) Crafty Sentiments – offering 3 digital images of winners choice

3) Inspired by Stamping – offering a $20.00 Gift Certificate

Thanks for your generosity sponsors!!

Now how about some inspiration?   My first card uses Dollar Graphics Depot image called, “Kids Playing”.  I can’t get over that you get five (5) images in this set for $1.00.  Amazing.  This sweet boy is colored with Copic Markers.  I created the background with my B91 & V20 markers then faded it out with the zero to give it a patchy cloud like look.  The paper is from Doodle Bug’s, “Take Note” 6 x 6 pack and the sentiment and star are from Lawn Fawn, “Life is Good.” stamp set.

My second card is Henry from Crafty Sentiments.  I colored him with Copics and cut out a frame from My Favorite Things dies to highlight the image. The card base was cut out with the stitched die from Simon Says Stamp using Amy Tangerine’s, “Plus One” collection.  The sentiment is from The Craft Spot.

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #22: Halloween or Dressing Up

Happy Saturday Friends!  It’s almost All Hallows Eve, or better known to us in America as Halloween.  All the little kiddies will be out going door to door and expecting candy in return for the declaration of “Trick or Treat”!  I miss living in a house because when you live in an apartment, you don’t get many kids.  Guess me and the hubby will stay home and watch reruns of The Walking Dead – wow – this is some season, huh?

Back to the challenge, Open-Minded Crafting is asking for cards that have imagery from halloween or any type of dressing up of costume in case you don’t celebrate Halloween.  Once again, we have some  great sponsors who are giving away a lot of great prizes.   Winners will be chosen by random and the design team will also choose their favorite entries and those cards will be highlighted on the Open-Minded Crafting Blog.

Now, let’s get to some goodies……Trick or Treat!

Flat Friends

Prize:  4 Images of Winners Choice

Crafty Sentiments Pic

Prize:  3 Images of Winners Choice

Scrappers Delight

Prize:  3 Images of Winners Choice

Stamping Boutique

Prize:  4 Images of Winners Choice

To inspire you, I’ve chosen a digital image called, Harriett – Witchy Ride from Crafty Sentiments.  I colored her with Copic Markers and created the moon using a My Favorite Things Stitched circle die and paper from Authentique’s 6 x 6 “Enchanted” pad.  The other paper on the card is My Minds Eye “Mischievous”.  The tree is Paper Smooches and to give a bleak feel, I didn’t use any of leaves that come with the die.  The spiders are from my stash and the two houses were cut out of a DCWV paper pad.   Last, I created the hill using two different dies before everyone else came out with the combined stitched dies, I had a Lawn Fawn stitched die combined with the Simon Says Stamp hill die.  Oh well – doesn’t match, but I can live with it – art isn’t perfect!

I really hope we will see some of your Halloween or dress-up creations over at Open-Minded Crafting Challenge.  Trick or Treat!
