Happy Weekend! It’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge celebrating Mom, or that special female in your life!!! You have until Friday, April 15th to enter.
I wanted to remind you that Send a Smile 4 Kids is growing by adding more hospitals and more volunteers to take your donated cards. We hope that after you enter the challenge you consider sending your cards to SAS4Kids for children in need. Check out how.
Now, let’s get on to those sponsors:
1) Sami Stamps– offering a $12.00 Gift Certificate to Store
3) “Dies R Us”– offering a $15.00 Gift Certificate to Store
Now how about some inspiration? My first card uses Sami’s Stamp image called, “Floral Girl.” I used Inktense Pencils to color her up and then edged with Wilted Lilac Distress Ink. I then put through the We R Memory Keepers die and added pearl pen for additional texture. My sentiment die is WPlus9.
We hope you will come be and participate at the Special Female or Mom Challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids!
Happy Weekend! It’s time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge celebrating Mom, or that special female in your life!!! Again, we have some really great sponsors offering prizes to our winners. You have until Friday, April 17th to enter.
I also wanted to remind you that Send a Smile 4 Kids is growing by adding more hospitals and more volunteers to take your donated cards. We hope that after you enter the challenge you consider sending your cards to SAS4Kids for children in need. Check out how.
Now, let’s get on to those sponsors:
1) DeeDee Digi’s – Offering a $15.00 Gift Certificate to Store
2) A Day For Daisies – offering a $12.00 Gift Certificate to Store
3) Stitchy Bear – offering a $6.00 Gift Certificate to Store
Now how about some inspiration? My first card uses DeeDee Digi’s “Cow Are You.” Mom and calf are colored with Copic’s with a spun sugar distress ink background. The rectangle and scalloped dies are Spellbinders and the element on the left is a wood banner I colored using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Mica’s. The flower is a really old rub on from GinX and the fiber is Close to My Heart. The ribbon band is from Ellen Hutson who sends these with every order. Isn’t that cool?
My next card is from A Day For Daisies called, “Mother I Love You.” I colored mother and child with Copic Markers and used a My Favorite Things circle die to highlight them on. The sentiment is from a Claudine Hellmuth stamp set and the flower die is from My Favorite Things which I stamped with the MFT Romantic background.
Thanks for stopping by and we sure hope you’ll come on over to Send a Smile 4 Kids an play along!
Day 9 journal page uses distress stains, distress inks, and saran wrap dipped in water. As you know, distress inks are water soluble, so it makes for a great texture. The trees are a Club Scrap stencil and the “moon” is a foam stamp from Claudine Helmuth.
Day 10 page was supposed to use Inktense blocks, however, not having these, I used some watercolor crayons. After applying the crayons in squares, I watered them down and doodled over them with the Molotow markers.

My design team inspiration today features a Kenny K image called, “Trouble Maker”. She looks a little devious, but, hey, that’s okay because she’s eating my favorite summer food – ICE CREAM!!! When I lived in St. Louis there was an Ice Cream store called Oberweiss. The best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Used to eat pints of the stuff!
For this card I used Amy Tangerine’s “Plus One” paper pack, tag and star die from My Favorite Things, and sentiment from Claudine Hellmuth. I colored the image with Copic markers and called it a card. I like the graphic elements of the paper combined with the “jeans” paper to reflect a teen. I hope you stop by Open-Minded Crafting Challenge, enter a card for some great prizes, and let me know what you think of all the great inspiration the design team offered.
Card made with Stamping Bella by Mo Manning Rubber Stamp called Lacy with Ice Cream colored with a watercolor wash background and white embossing powder. The Design is based on sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges 241 and the paper is Lawn Fawn. Sentiment is Claudine Helmuth and the circle is a bazzill chip sprayed with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Spray in “Pretty in Pink Pink” (yes, two pink’s). The circle die is My Favorite Things. I topped it off with some sequins and did a little distressing.
