Technique Junkies – Metallic Vibes
Hey Junkies!!
The Crafty Nurse here with some metallic mid-week inspiration using a stamps from the July Release. You have until July 9th to get 15% off any of the July Release stamps.
I don’t know about you, but as a true technique junkie, I have oodles of supplies. When I lived up in the New Jersey area I had the good fortune to go to the annual Ranger warehouse sale in Tinton, New Jersey. If you live anywhere near that area I recommend checking it out. They usually announce the sale dates for the fall event on the Ranger Blog and Facebook.
Today, I’m using inks from one of my adventures called, Posh Rainbow Metallic Inks by Ranger. I applied them on my nonstick mat and dipped in. I love using this technique with Distress Inks too and Pat has the Distress Oxides in the store. The technique of dipping can be found on the Artistic Effects CD.
After creating a fabulous background I stamped “Positive Mind SD7809” with Archival Ink on a separate piece of card stock and applied Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves for color.
To further isolate the sentiment, I created a frame using Recollections chipboard painted with more of the metallic inks. I popped up the frame with foam tape and added a shaker window.
I’d love for you to share the cards over at the Facebook group using some of your supplies combined with Technique Junkies stamps. You still have time to enter the “Drips” challenge for a chance to win prizes. Need more inspiration? Check out the Pinterest board for Technique Junkies.
Finally, enjoy 10% off in the store using TJ10Kathy.

Cards in Envy Challenge: Favorite Color Combination
Happy Monday! It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge . This week our theme is use your “Favorite Color Combination.”
As a reminder, Cards in Envy asks that your card fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple.
For today’s card, I chose the colors pink, yellow and black. For the focal image, I used a Technique Junkies April Release stamp called “Life is Tough“, which I heat embossed with white, then applied Distress inks in a favorite technique called Distress Stain Dip, which can be found on the “Artistic Effects” CD at Technique Junkies. To add depth, I ran the entire card through the We “R” Memory Keepers Geometric embossing folder and applied additional Distress inks over the top.
Hope we’ll see your “Favorite Color Combo” cards over at the Cards in Envy challenge. You have until May 28th to enter. If you love this stamp, I have a coupon code for a 10% discount at Technique Junkies: TJ10Kathy

Hey Fellow Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here today with another card from our March 2017 release. Spring and sprung and as we appreciate the beauty of our surroundings, we here at the blog hope you find time to reflect that beauty in an artistic way.
This card is for our dog lovers in the group! Sorry cat peeps! You have to admit it’s pretty darn funny through…..
The focal image called “Can’t Afford The Cat SD764” is simply stamped with Versafine Black Onyx Ink using my MISTI tool, then heat embossed with an application of Distress Inks in Wild Honey and Gathered Twigs over the top. I used “Paid In Full #P027”, a Palettini Collection stamp as way to add additional text for the background of both focal and background images.
Thanks for stopping by the Technique Junkies Blog today and as always we wish you lots of creative play today and always.

Technique Junkies February Blog Hop!
It’s the first of the month and that means it’s time for a Technique Junkies Blog Hop showcasing the new February release! The fabulous Technique Junkie Design Team will provide an amazing selection of inspiration for your enjoyment.
Pat is again offering 15% off all February Release Stamps for one week! In addition to new stamps, Technique Junkies has some great new stencils you absolutely need to check out. The other new product is the Nuvo Mouse, which is a 3D effect product like modeling paste in gorgeous colors.
For my first card on the hop, I’ve taken Palm Tree’s Set of 3 #SS069 and used the Misti tool to create a multilayered effect using Distress Markers. The Misti allows you to keep your stamp in the same place and repeatedly use different colors. I saw this technique by the wonderful Jill Foster and thought it would be perfect for this new TJ Stamp. I used Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs and Espresso for the branches and Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint for the branches. Once the tree is completely stamped, seal it with a clear layer of embossing powder. This protective layer allows you to work on the background without dulling the focal image colors. It also gives you little highlights that peek up, which I love.
Next I took distress inks in Broken China and Faded Jeans and began creating the clouds. The “sand” is created with Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Gathered Twigs.
Here is another card with the very same technique only using more muted distress inks. For this card I added another new February stamp called Fly Me Away #S716 which frames this scene perfectly. The sentiments in both cards are included in the Palm Trees Set of 3 set.
My next card features Fly Me Away #S716 in a full card. I used the same technique with the repeated stamping using the Misti Tool. For more texture, I added a Tim Holtz Stencil over the top with Antique Linen Distress Ink. You can use any of the new Colorful Life stencils too! The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker.
My final card for you today features “Kitty in Curlers #SD743”. I stamped her using Versafine ink in smokey grey and colored her in Art Anthology paints in Cotton Candy for her curlers, Buttercream for the body and Baby Blue Eyes for the background. The patterned paper is created using the technique called, Whitewash Chic from Artistic Effects CD. I wanted her to look like an old time picture frame so I hung a string over a brad so she can hang in her glory.
Now, that I’ve shown you what I have to offer, I don’t want you to miss any of the other design teams creativity so I encourage you to start hopping at the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog.
If you are arriving from Cheri’s Blog, you in the right place! Gorgeous Projects Cheri !

The First Sin – Technique Junkies
Hey Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse back with some inky inspiration for this wonderful August summer day! I created the background using “Acrylic Gesso Technique from Artistic Effects CD”. My focal image is one of the new August release stamps called, “Fancy Fruits SS057” that is currently 15% off until August 8th!
For my sentiment I pulled out “That’s What She Said SS012″ specifically using the “I feel a sin coming on” as a quip to Eve and the apple”. The gold spatters finish off the card.
Enjoy your Wednesday!
Crabby? Not me…..
Hello Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here with more inspiration using the April Technique Junkies Release. If you haven’t stopped by and gotten a peek at all the new releases, I would do so soon as tomorrow is the last day of the 15% discount on the April Release.
For my card I used “Crabby Set of 3 #PS008” over the Goosebumps Double Stencil technique on the Artistic Effects CD. The sprays are Art Anthology “Waimea Bay” and “Warm” over a Simon Says Stamp wave stencil.
This is a great stamp for so many techniques and with the added sentiments, can be a fun and quirky card. Hope you’ll stop by Technique Junkies to pick up some really great supplies!
Enjoy the inspiration using the April release. Happy Stamping!
Coffee Anyone?
Hello Junkies!
The Crafty Nurse here with more inspiration using the February Technique Junkies release. I am a coffee JUNKIE! Starbucks to be specific. I’ve also found a really cool treat called “Topperfino.” They are little chocolate discs that you put in your coffee that are actually pieces of art. They are only 25 calories and so beautiful to look at. The best thing is it combines both my loves, art and coffee.
Now on to my card. I used “Drinking and Thinking SD656 with the Acrylic Gesso Tutorial from the Artistic Effects CD. To add a little pizazz, I added book paper under the gesso, then stamped my image. In addition, I took “Kona” Velvet by Art Anthology and framed my stamped image.
I liked the versatility of this stamp so didn’t even give her a sentiment. Pick up a cup of coffee, add a Topperfino and stop by Technique Junkies to pick up some great supplies!
I hope you’ve been enjoying some of the inspiration using the February release.
Happy Crafting!
Technique Junkies Successful Woman
Hello Junkie Friends. I’m here today with a quick card using one of the Technique Junkie sentiments from February released called, “Partners in Crime SS053.” This set has some great sentiments and matches perfectly with some of the other release stamps or can stand alone as a focal sentiment. I also used the new “Houndstooth Check S665” which I heat embossed in white.
The technique used on this card is one of my all time favorites called, Distress Stain Dip from the Artistic Effects CD. Each panel you make is different based on the colors and amount of stain used.
If you haven’t checked out the February release yet, come on over to the Technique Junkies site.
