If you have arrived from Kathy Curry, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using Hang Loose, perfect for a summer card.  I broke out some oldies but goodies from my stash including a spellbinders “Spritely Sprockets Die, some Amy Tangerine paper from 2012 called, “Sketchbook”, Liquitex inks, Distress Inks, Art Anthology Dimensional Paint, and of course, my favorite Copic Markers.  This was a super fun challenge to use stash that you haven’t touched in a while.  Do some shopping in your own craft room to see what you can find!

From The Heart Stamps June – Unique Designs Blog Hop!

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps June blog hop. This month we have a really unique hop for you using customized images requested by each designer and drawn by Faith, our fearless leader and From the Heart Stamps owner.  For my image, I requested a nurse and I couldn’t be more thrilled with this adorable image. I can’t wait to see what all the other designers have chosen.

FtHS_Blog-Hop-Infographic-June

In addition to the images offered on each blog, one very lucky hopper will be able to request their very own customized image drawn by Faith!!! When you comment here, please say what kind of image you would like if you win the chance.

If you have arrived from Kathy Curry’s website, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

I kept my card simple as I wanted to highlight this amazing new image, “Little Kathy’s Nurse”. She has the sweetest face.  After cutting out a Lawn Fawn Stitched rectangle, I colored her up with copic markers using R46, R27, R05 for her dress. C5, C3, C1, C00 for her accessories and shoes, and E18, E08, YR14 for her hair.  The background was created using the My Favorite Things built a stripe background with white pigment ink and Charcoal hero arts shadow ink.  It reminded me of a candy striper.

From The Heart Stamps April Blog Hop!

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps April blog hop. This month our theme is “Sweet Treats”.  YUM!  The optional twist is sequins so enjoy the sweet sparkly goodness the design team has to offer this month.

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

If you have arrived from Kathy Curry’s website, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

For my project, my “sweet treat” features the yummy looking  “Cupcake Lineup” digi that comes in a straight and a curved formation.  I played with this a little and flipped the image to create an oval shape.  That’s one of the really fun things about digi’s is ways to make them your own.

I colored these sweet cupcakes with my Copic Markers in R89, R85, R83, R81, W4, W2, & Wo, Y19, Y15, Y11, YR18, YR14 , E15, and the liners in E29, E25, E23, and E21.  My design paper is Amy Tangerine’s “Rise & Shine collection and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from “Flurry” .  The oval die is from My Favorite Things and I stamped Paper Smooches “Sugar Rush” sentiment on more of the Amy Tangerine paper.

Happy Saturday Friends!  It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is Celebration! At SAS4Kids, we are so fortunate to have spectacular sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different.  I’d also like to mention if you are interested in bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized, we’d love for you to send in some of your cards for the kids; here’s how.

2) The Paper Shelter: Prize is 3 images of winners choice

3) Fred She Said:  Prize is $10.00 Gift Certificate

My first card today features the DRS Designs, “Bountiful Basket’ and “Happy Birthday Arc.”  I colored this beautiful basket with Copic Markers and kept the card clean and simple because I just loved the fall theme basket.

Birthday Harvest

My second card uses a digital image from Paper Shelter called, “Fair Day.”  The bright Amy Tangerine “Plus One” paper pack really works perfectly for this celebration image.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp “Happy & Smile.”

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I can’t wait to see your Celebration cards!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch #122 – CAS

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  I’m here with this weeks sketch challenge at From The Heart Stamps.  These are great challenges because you can use just the sketch, or if you’d like, add the twist.  The only requirement is that you use a From The Heart image and the sketch – the rest is up to you. The twist for this challenge is to keep it Clean & Simple using Paper Strips.

Sketch122

This week I used both the sketch and the twist choosing another fun image from Mekaela’s fundraiser, which is now unavailable, however, keep a look out because Faith may put this adorable image in the store.

I love the pout on this kitty.  I colored him using Copic Markers and used Amy Tangerine’s “Rise & Shine” 6 x 6 paper pack.  My square die is from Lifestyle Crafts and my card base stitched die is WPlus9.  I also added “faux” stitching around my image for even more highlight on this CAS card.

Technique Junkies Design Team Post: Let’s Face It

Hey Junkies!

I’m back with you today with a little more inspiration from Pat’s August release. I had so much fun during our blog hop this past weekend today I’m featuring another card using “Let’s Face It 5” from the Palettini Collection.

The background started with Distress Paint in Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade.  Once that dried I applied black paint through a Heidi Swapp Stencil using the “Stencil Turn” Technique on the Sensational Stencil CD.

For my image I stamped “Let’s Face It 5 #P030” on book paper using Adirondack Espresso Ink. Her face is colored with Liquitex Fluid Ink in Burnt Sienna diluted with water, the lips are Twinkling H20’s in Hopeful Honeysuckle, and the Eyes are FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic in Genesis Green. Okay, Okay – yes, I have a lot of inks…..

For her headpiece, I stamped it on Amy Tangerine’s Rise & Shine paper and clear embossed.  I fussy cut the head piece and applied it back onto the image.  Once everything was dry, I applied Tim Holtzs’ “Distress Glaze” because all my mediums were water based and I didn’t want it to run when I applied the Gel Medium.

Once the gel medium dried, I created depth by applying a Pitt Artist Pen in Brown around her head piece.  This is a great way to complete your paper piecing so it doesn’t look disconnected or out of place.  To finish, I colored the flowers with more FW Pearlescent Paint in Waterfall Green and called her done!

I thrilled you stopped by today and encourage you to subscribe to the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog  for tons of inspiration.

I also want to remind you there is still a few days left to take advantage of the 15% off all new August Stamps at the Technique Junkies store.

By for now,

Now how about some inspiration?   My first card uses Dollar Graphics Depot image called, “Kids Playing”.  I can’t get over that you get five (5) images in this set for $1.00.  Amazing.  This sweet boy is colored with Copic Markers.  I created the background with my B91 & V20 markers then faded it out with the zero to give it a patchy cloud like look.  The paper is from Doodle Bug’s, “Take Note” 6 x 6 pack and the sentiment and star are from Lawn Fawn, “Life is Good.” stamp set.

Life is Good;DGD-wm

My second card is Henry from Crafty Sentiments.  I colored him with Copics and cut out a frame from My Favorite Things dies to highlight the image. The card base was cut out with the stitched die from Simon Says Stamp using Amy Tangerine’s, “Plus One” collection.  The sentiment is from The Craft Spot.
