Good Morning – It’s Friday – YEAH! Today I’ve used Prismacolor Pencils. This is my first image using this technique from the Kit & Clowder new Colored Pencil Class. The card design is the MFT Sketch 218. Circle Die is My Favorite Things and the Rectangle Die is Lawn Fawn.
Another fun card from my time at Online Card Classes called Gesso Resist as taught by Julie Ebersole. I love how this came out and it’s so easy. Clean & Simple isn’t really my general style, which is why I’m taking this class. If you aren’t taking it, I sure encourage you to do so. You can start anytime. This card uses gesso, distress inks in Worn Lipstick, Ripe Persimmon, and Picked Raspberry. The die is Papertrey Ink cut 4 times – 3 in white and one pink. Background stamp is from this months Simon Says Stamp kit.
One of the challenges I personally love participating in is the A Day For Daisies. One of the reasons I enjoy participating is that Tammy, the owner and artist is kind enough to provide freebies for each and every participant. Thanks Tammy! Today I colored Doll Face Beauty #5 with copics for this weeks challenge that calls for use of ombre. I took my favorite Kuretake Watercolors and used the golds, copper and pearl to create a ombre background. The sentiment is Clearly Besotted. I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple.
From the Heart Stamp generously provides free digital images for those who participate in their monthly challenges. In addition, they offer 1.00 off coupons for participation in the sketch challenge. I like to do a “twofer”, meaning, I use the sketch offered and the Stamp of the Month image and enter both! I love this month’s stamp. I colored him with Copics and used My Mind’s Eye “Winter Wonderland” 6 x 6 pad. The circle die is from My Favorite Things and the Scallop Circle from Spellbinders. I’ve never seen a green birdbrain but thought I’d give it a whirl.
This weeks Make it Monday was a technique using the “insides” of your cover plate dies. Laurie Wilson does a video that shows you how to get these lined up perfectly using…..of all things…..Glad Press n seal wrap. It WORKS!!! The first card is the is simply Neenah Solar White over some Club Scrap card stock. The Wood focal point is painted with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Mica in Black Orchid. The second card uses Dylusions sprays over the Simon Says Stamp “Love My Alpha” Stencil. I hand drew the lines in the starburst using my copic 0.3 marker and the focal point A+ is also using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical’s in Bells of Ireland and backed with black paper.
Make it Monday Challenge: Use a Cover Plate
Card made with OWH/Hero Arts Stamp collaborative “Little Hoot” colored by watercoloring with distress ink in pumice stone and victorian velvet. Background is Impression Obsession brick pattern also in pumice stone. The corners are from the Tim Holtz Industrious Stickers “Frames & Trims” and the sun is from Simon Says Stamp card kit. Paper is Amy Tangerine “Sketchbook 6 x 6”.
Can’t say I’m thrilled with this card, but hopefully some little girl will enjoy it when her mommy or daddy sends it to her from Operation Write Home. The technique was new to me from The Technique Junkies and uses colored pencils and embossing powder to color this My Favorite Things girl called Jolinne. Pattern paper is Lawn Fawn and My Minds Eye. The circles are both MFT Dies.
