March Simon Says Stamp Kit Card 7 & 8
Here are the last two cards from this March kit. The first uses Operation Write Home’s Weekly Sketch #250. I added some Bazzill heavy weight vellum and embossed the Hero Arts & Operation Write Home fundraiser stamp with Ranger’s Liquid Platinum embossing powder. The circles & rectangle were cut with My Favorite Things dies.
My second card is an example of covering up a mistake. I didn’t plan to have a flower at the top left, but I messed up the liquid pearls and tried to remove them but made a royal mess so I had to cover it with the flower. I stamped the background with the flowers in vanilla Hero Arts Shadow Ink and Fog Simon Says Stamp ink.

OWH World Card Making Day Hop using Simon Says Stamp October Kit
Today is the OWH Blog hop for Operation Write Home. I wanted to use my October Card kit and we were tasked with making a LOVE card, so I combined the two with OWH Sketch 140. Hope you like it!
The card uses the October Simon Says Stamp October Card kit with the addition of the sentiment from My Favorite Things “Clearly Sentimental about Coffee”. I used the Khaki SSS ink pad and added some Hero Arts ink in Cup-0-Joe, Soft Sand, and Soft Brown. I embossed the heart in the center using Versamark black with clear powder. Enjoy the hop!
Simon Says Stamp August Kit – Card 5
This card using the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit is made from the Operation Write Home Sketch #236 with a sentiment from Avery Elle. The ice cream is watercolored with distress inks and the “sweet” is stamped with black versafine and clear heat embossed.
Birthday Crab
This mornings card is based on the Operation Write Home Card Sketch 234. I am so happy every Sunday when I get a new sketch to work with for my OWH Cards. I used Bazzill’s “Red Devil” and Echo Park’s “So Happy”. Twine is Lawn Fawn and dies are My Favorite Things (banner, circle and square). Image is Doodle Pantry colored with Copic Markers. I dusted some chalks over a cloud template to create the sunny day.

Operation Write Home Sketch #233 using SSS July Card Kit

Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit #4
Back to playing in my July Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for July. This card uses this weeks Operation Write Home Sketch 231. I colored the envelops with Copics in B14, B05 and B37 and used one of the stickers that come in the kit. The “love” stamp is part of the “Lots of Love” stamp, only partially inked. Don’t forget to stretch your stamps by using portions of sentiments or even cutting them if needed. You can always put them back on the block the way they were intended.

Card made with Pure Innocence Stamp from My Favorite Things using this weeks Operation Write Home Card Sketch 230. Instead of my usual Copic Markers, tonight I brought out the Prismacolor Pencils with Gamsol. I’m really green on this technique so the blending is pretty rough. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and paper from My Minds Eye and Amy Tangerine. Background Stamp is Chicken Wire.

Operation Write Home – Memorial Day Blog Hop 2014
I’m so excited to participate in Operation Write Home’s Memorial Day Bloghop for 2014! I’m normally a participant, but this year I’m able to be a host because I just started my blog this year. My son is a Marine stationed in Japan and I’m thrilled to be able to make cards for Operation Write Home.
My first card is an Any Hero card using OWH Sketch 12 and the hop’s theme of Red, White and Blue. The stamp set is Close to My Heart “Freedom”. The eagle is stamped with Tea Dye Distress Ink, then watercolored using Gathered Twigs. Make sure to let your layers dry in between adding colors or they will mix too much without providing the shading you want. The paper is Club Scrap, the ink is Hero Arts and Distress Inks, and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

Any Hero Card
My second card uses Operation Write Home Sketch B-1 – My apologies, I couldn’t pull the image off the site – but here is the link to the PDF for all the sketches. The paper is from Farmhouse Paper Company called Fair Skies. I paper pieced the balloon, embossed the background with a Darice Embossing Folder, added some faux stitching, and topped it off with some wood veneer stars. Guess I was in a vintage mood when I created these two cards. LOL. I’d love to know which you prefer and why?

May Simon Says Stamp Card Kit – All Boy
Here is the first of my cards for the May 2014 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit using Operation Write Home Sketch 225 I used Stampendous “Marine Aged” embossing powder for the sentiment (really cool looking IRL) and the gold gems from April’s kit.
Operation Write Home Sketch 218
I’m a week behind in getting my Operation Write Home Sunday Sketch done. This is Sketch #218, though in my design, I couldn’t fit the banner in on the left side. I used the April Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. As I’m still new to this blogging stuff, I can’t figure out how to link you to each site, but that’s my task this week!
