Today I broke out my distress ink cubes to watercolor with for the Lawnscaping “Try a New Technique” challenge. I hadn’t had a chance to use the “Soy Happy” stamp set so I thought the two would be a good merge.
I started with the new Tim Holtz stencil called “Mesh” using old paper distress ink. After watercoloring all the images on watercolor paper stamped with archival ink I fussy cut them and went around with a black pen to clean up the edges (for more on how to do this check out my other post). I arranged the images and stamped the heart coloring it with Pigma Archival Brush Pen in red.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Tuesday! Today I’ve made a birthday card for Ellen Hutson’s new “Mix It Up Challenge” with Lawn Fawn. I just love this stamp set by Ellen & Julie Ebersole. I also added in Lawn Fawn’s bird from Critters in the Forest. The animals are colored with Copic Markers and the Balloons are Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, and Peacock Feathers. The stars are a combination of Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp. I inlayed the balloons, but added dimension with foam tape for the entire card panel.
Well, today kinda stunk. I fractured my tooth and ended up in the oral surgeon’s office to have it removed. So much for enjoying my vacation! All that happening though doesn’t keep me away from my craft table! I made this card using one Doodlebug’s 2013 Christmas collections and the Sweet Christmas Lawn Fawn set. I colored them in copics and created a winter scene. I’m entering this in the “count me in” challenge for Lawn Fawn.
I’m enjoying another day off and having fun with my stamps and ink. Today I am playing with the Lawn Fawn “Monster Mash” and “Wish You Were Here” stamp set to make a Halloween card. The background is distress ink in Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, and Black Soot. I added some Perfect Pearls mixed with water for the “stars” and the white uniball pen to add spots on the monsters. The wire is stamped with the dot pattern from “Wish You Were Here”. The monsters are colored with Copic Markers and the spider is from the “Halloweenies” Paper Smooches stamp set. The ground is paper from Authentique and I used the curved Simon Says Stamp die and the Paper Smooches stitched curve.
The following card is intended as an application for the Lawn Fawn Facebook Inspiration team. I adore Lawn Fawn’s images and would love to participate in inspiring others. Today, I used the “Our Friendship Grows” stamp set colored with distress inks & markers in scattered straw, gathered twigs, rusty hinge, frayed burlap, walnut stain, peeled paint, shabby shutters, and worn lipstick. The design paper is from the October Simon Says Stamp kit and the sunflowers are stamped on Strathmore’s 140lb Watercolor paper.
Here is a card using the sketch outline from Seize the Sketch made with Sticky Back Canvas and painted with acrylic paints. The stamps and sentiment are both Lawn Fawn and the image is embossed, though the canvas absorbed most of the ink and didn’t leave too much embossing behind. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t have bleeding paint. The leaf in the corner is burlap. Design paper is Lawn Fawn “into the woods”.
Here is a card made for the Lawn Fawn Watercolor challenge this week. I used the card stock and design paper from the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit and the stamp set from Lawn Fawn called “Blue Skies”. The technique is from the Online Card Classes “A Cut Above”, one of the only classes I hadn’t already taken, but purchased this past weekend while on sale. Lots of good techniques for dies. I watercolored the balloons and clouds with Distress Ink and a water brush. The images are all embossed with clear powder over Black Versafine ink.
This card made with a wash of distress stains in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Peacock Feathers. I sprayed the Bristol Smooth Card Stock first, then added stains. That way I then used stars from “Lucky Stars” and Happy 4th” Lawn Fawn stamps using Versamark black ink. Sentiment also from “Lucky Stars” embossed with Versamark and clear powder on Bazzill Vellum. The stars are Recollection from Michael’s.
